Silent Member
"Nerd" is used to describe anyone that is associated with intellect and/or technology. That is MY official definition of the word. To everyone, the world is divided into three social classes: popular people who beat down everyone else for their own gain, nerds who do not rise up to everyone else's level of social status, and regulars who do not become popular but are at everyone else's social status. Let us say that you yourself are a nerd. What do you think it would dfeel like? Would you be laughed at? Would you be on the computer studying a lot? Would everyone else say that you are just like Irkel on Family Matters? Well, I certainly hope not, because that would mean they are stereotyping you. Now, would you treat people that you call "nerds" the same way? No, you will think be thinking, "What if it were me?" Think of what you call popular. What does it mean? Does it mean beauty? Strength? Grades? Well-Known-ess? That last one is what it really is. The others are just what you think of when you think of the word. That is most likely because anyone that you have found popular has had a trait that you think they all have. Now, what is the closest thing about you that you think might help you be popular? I hope you don't think of things that you want to do to be popular, like getting thinner. I hope you think of things that you already have that you can improve on. Let's say that you can make a good card, so you want to improve. Once you get better cards out, you are more well-known. That makes you more popular on the forums. This is usually what popular is supposed to mean. There are some exceptions that I will talk about later on. Now that we have discussed both ends of the social scale, let's talk about the middle of it. Regulars are the people you are usually friends with. They are the people that tend to talk to each other more often. Compared to nerds, who don't talk to others, and populars, who only talk amonst themselves, regulars talk much, much, more. They tend to dress in a way that they think will make them cool, or in a way that they think their friends will like. That is not what we should be like. We need to find a new segment of the scale. We need the ability to talk to each other without fuss, we need to start thinking more about what we know, and we need to start living the meaning of life. I shall call this class "meanings." Meanings are what I would say are the closest thing to perfection as humanly possible. They are the ones who live life to the fullest, the ones that live the meaning of life. The meaning of life is to be happy with what you have, and to help others with what they need. People that are considered meanings are the people who do not want to hate, ones who do not do things that they know are wrongful, and the ones who improve traits that will become meaningful to them. This is the social class that we should be living in. With all this fuss, there are actually people who live in many sub-classes. These people are the ones who have fun doing what they do, but do not show all attributes that would make them a Meaning. These people live in their own sub-divisions I call Independents. The people living in an independent does not show the full traits of a Social Class, but show enough traits to go beneath it. They will give names to others' social class that they would have named it. These are things like geek, dweeb, jock, bully, etc. Truth is, these people are doing what they want to do, making them independent from one another. Although, some of us tend to want to slip into other Independents, making it less so than what it was first. People like this tend to be less themselves and will not feel good about themselves untill the leave. I think these are the people who want protection, who want cover, who don't like being different than others. These people are those who do not feel capable of doing their own things. They are the ones that we tell to grow a backbone. Truth is, they're probably just scared of others, so they join them. I have a test for you. Look at yourself in the mirror and ask, "What do live for?" Does your answer match who you are? Is your answer what other people think you should be? Is the answer something you thought would neer lie for? Then, try and fnd the best way to follow your life goal. If you ever fufill it, then try a new life goal to keep you occupied. If you are lazy, then you aren'tfollowing life's meaning. I've touched on this, but now I will tell you the full meaning of what I said. Ealier, I said that the meaning of life is to be happy with what you have, and to help others with what they need. Well, now you will know what that actually means. The first part, be happy with what you have, tells us that we need to stop asking for new things, no matter how much we got. The second part, help others with what they need, means that we need to start caring more about othwers than we care about ourselves. I'm not saying to stop caring about what you are or want, I'm saying to care more for others. This means that you should try to volunteer when you can, and try to make the world a better place. So I conclude that nerds, populars, and Independents are nothing more than people with different hobbies and ideas. That is how everyone is. The world really only two groups: tame is and wild. I will go on to talk about why there are these two groups. The world is taking a nosedive in caringness. We need to start caring of others, and less of ourselves. This is only the start of a longer series of writings that will tell more about life's values. As I always write: I bid you adeu.
Static
Sorry dude, its WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too long for most of us. Had I not been tired, I may have read it. You might want to post a Tl;dr to get responses.
「tea.leaf」
You see, I don't give a crap, because I'm not a nerd. Thus, I will proceed to treat them like crap IRL for their level of epic fail. I'm infamous. People know me for different things, and my friends are within all circles. Don't try using that "what if that was me?" crap, especially with me. I've been everywhere in the spectrum, the one thing you learn is you can never count on people to treat you the way you treat them. That being said, I generally treat the people "below" me like crap, mostly because I think they deserve it for being in that social class. And, also, the people who are popular deserve to be popular, it's perfectly fair; the ones complaining about it are the ones that need to grow up. Silent Member
Did I say tthat popular is bad? I said the way you think of popular is. Popular does not need braggers, it needs people who just don't care. And this is determined to be a more classy series than a series which EVERYONE is supposed to like. Don't flame it just because you won't follow it, do it just to keep it better. Anyone else want to talk?
「tea.leaf」
Did I say tthat popular is bad? I said the way you think of popular is. What the hell does that even mean? I didn't say anything. Popular does not need braggers' date=' it needs people who just don't care.[/quote'] If you don't brag in this world, you lose. No one is going to take the time to "learn" about you. And this is determined to be a more classy series than a series which EVERYONE is supposed to like. classy: • adjective (classier' date=' classiest), informal: stylish and sophisticated[/quote'] This article qualifies as neither. I don't see any sophisticated high-level thinking, and this is hardly stylish. Don't flame it just because you won't follow it' date=' do it just to keep it better.[/quote'] I'm attacking your ideas because I think you're wrong. If wrong ideas left untouched, society would be in an infinitely worse position; we'd still be burning witches left and right.
Sbamber
Nerd: A term often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual activities, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests that are age inappropriate rather than engaging in more social or popular activities. Therefore, a nerd is often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers, or will tend to associate with like-minded people.
