Pet Problem

Guest Tiger

Recommended Posts

Okay, I have 2 dogs. A 5 month old Puppy, Phoebe and a 14 year old Shetland Sheepdog, Lily. Lily is old and is deaf and has Arthritis, while Phoebe is young and just recently got spayed. Phoebe is practically over the pain from being spayed. We try to separate them because Phoebe won't stop "attacking" Lily. Phoebe even made Lily bleed, and Phoebe gave Lily an eye infection. We try to separate then as much as possible, but still today we let Lily come into the kitchen for her dinner and Phoebe attacked Lily. Are there any solutions that you guys have? Please help me.

Have you tried getting either of them a toy? Maybe another target? Just an idea.

Phoebe rips it up and there is fluff everywhere. Lily is too old for toys. She can't even run. She can barely walk, but what's strange is that they both have tops and they fight over each others toys.

:? I'd say talk to them and figure it out. But that's just my ability to speak to a dog...

Tie Phoebe up where Lily can't get to her immediately and let them work it out. Kinda against my usual tactic, but at a time like this thats all you can do...

I wish I could talk to dogs.

As soon as they see each other they fight. It's annoying. Phoebe is very aggressive, and makes Lily bleed, and I cannot let that happen. It is cruel.

Do you have a dog cage? Put Pheobe in there so she won't attack her. That is what my parents do when my cat' date=' "Scraps" with my dog.

We currently do that, and they still attack each other.

Well' date=' maybe your cats can keep them apart.

Otherwise, if you can, keep Lily in the Laundry Room with some food. Don't forget to talk or pet her every hour or so.

Our Laundry Room is very small =/ She wouldn't like it.

lol You eventually learn to recognize the speech patterns. If you pay attention close and I mean REAL close.

Anyway, make sure that Phoebe is within reach of Lily but restrained and let them solve it themselves. Eventually they will get along. But NOT in a cage ._."...

Plus this also shows that Lily has priority and thus the alpha dog. They will find middle ground if you do that, don't worry.

I'll try that! Thanks!

Np lol.

A word of advice:

"If the dogs themselves cannot find out who the Alpha Dog is. Find a way to make them find out, and your dogs will teach each other, saving the work for you and you also get dogs who are loyal not only to you. But themselves as well."
