Tony begins to paddle as fast as he can, which isn't that fast, but his determination leads him on. A sudden tide change gets him gained speed, and he starts to pass his fellow campers. Tony: Woohoo! The appearance of the sharks gives Tony a sense of desperate fear, and paddles for all of his life. He is so scared that he actually manages to pull ahead to the front of the pack.
