'Cause seriously, if someone that isn't christian has some fantastic plans for the country that would lead us into a new age, why the hell wouldn't we want him for President? Taxes are imposed by the federal government, as well as local and state government. For a Church to be exempt from taxes violate the Separation of Church and State. Its as simple as that. Ethics have nothing to do with religion. Religion is unethical. Maybe if the churches were taxed, they would not be such a big part of compaigning. People have the natural tendency to distrust those of different beliefs or values (even when they are pretty darn similar). They find that if you are different in any way, you can't be trusted. Because of this, people are judging who should be our leaders simply by what they believe in and not wholy on what they really stand for outside of religion. God is government, and we all respond because we have nothing else to believe in. "Give 10% of your money to the church"... sounds like a load of sheet to me.
