Another forum I'm on discuss(ed) Arcanas

I've been thinking about the Arcana Force decks and if they can be made into a competitive deck' date=' I realize that because of their 50/50 success rate effects, it could be difficult, even with the coin toss support cards like Reversal of Fate, Lucky Chance and Light Barrier.

Alright, I copied and pasted this from www.ukaypro.co.uk, which is the second-main forum I use (YCM being the first).

That post was in response to other posts in the thread that basically said that Arcanas had no chance at being competitive.

Well the Dark Ruler is an OTK card and doesn't have a downside. But i don't think a pure arcana deck can be competitive

 

but a Dark Ruler OTK has possibilities

Skuldur pretty much summed it up. Arcana Decks might not be good, but Dark Ruler is.

Arcana decks have no chance at being competitive.

Destiny Hero decks have no chance at being competitive.

Psychic decks have no chance at being competitive.

 

That doesn't mean that they don't have individual cards within their archetype that can be used for a better deck type, just that a straight up pure Arcana deck can never be competitive, a pure D-Hero deck can never be competitive, etc etc.

Pika basically summed it up.

 

Unfortunately, the inherent inconsistency produced by the coin-flip effects ensures that Arcanas will basically only be worthwhile in OTK's, as with Dark Ruler and Za Warudo, and possibly in stall with The Fool. The others...no. We could get some crazy cards that change this, but as of right now I don't see the other Arcanas becoming playable.
