Yankee
Well, the Phillies have just won the World Series in 5 games. Congradulations to all the Phillies fans out there! ^_^ So, while Philidalphia celibrates, the first thing on every other teams mind is...the off-season schedual. So, here is the reason for this thread.Your a owner of your fave team. What do you do?What players do you sign in Free Agency? There are quite a few big names in there this season. I'll list them at the end of the thread. Also, what trades will you attempt? Do you fire/hire any new coaches? Bascily, your the owner of your fave team. What would you do? So...LET THE OFF SEASON BEGIN!
1. Manny Ramierz2. C.C Sabathia3. Ben Sheets*4. Ivan (Pudge) Rodriguez*5. Fransisco (K-Rod) Rodriguez* = Possible * 1: The Brewers have not ruled out the possiblity of letting their long time ace go into the free agent market. While it isn't likley to happen, it is still a possibility.* 2: The Yankees backup catcher, Ivan Rodriguez, will leave for free agency if the Yankees don't re-sign him soon. The Yankees got Pudge in a trade with the Tigers because the health of career Yankee, Jorge Posada was is in question. The Yankees have said that they are not looking for a catcher this off season, so that may mean that Pudge's time in pin strips is over. But things change quickley, and Posada may not be healthy. Only time will tell...
1. Jake PeavyPeavy says he is willing to waive his no trade clause on his contract to get away from the Padres. The Padres seem equally willing to let him go.2. Matt HolidayThe Rockies are now trying to re-build their team. The first step tward that for them is to trade Matt Holiday away. There is no bad blood on either side, the Rockies are just trying to get some more talant back to they can return to the fall classic in a few years. BTW, names in the Free Agent list may change. I do not know alot of the people leaving for free agency. PM inormation if you know any. Cheers,Yankeefan

Catman25
Why did Tiger's trade an allstar for Kyle Farnsworth who let us down so many times? Tiger's should keep Jim Leyland, and maybe get some better pitching.
Yankee
^ Well...What would YOU do if you where the tigers owner? ;)What players and all would you get?
Catman25
I don't know, maybe sign C.C.?
Zack Blaze
I am a Red Sox fan (No offence YankeeFan =D). I liked the way they played all year but I think they should pick up K-Rod, and I too would have dumped Manny. They did better without him. Anyway I think Kevin Youkolis had a great year smacking in the 20 + Homers. I would keep him in the line-up. Dustin Pedroia also had a good year so I think the Red Sox are set for the 2009 Season! BlackFang
Lets see...if I were the Dodgers' owner, I'd do whatever I could to keep Manny around. Also, they need more solid starting pitching, so I'd probably try to make a move to get Jake Peavy from the Padres. He's good.
Zack Blaze
I agree, Manny was a key factor for the Dogers throuhout the Post season, but he just wasn't right for the Red Sox
Catman25
I think they were seeing if Manny wasn't trying on purpose for the R-Sox. Then he played hard for the Dodgers. Confusing?
Yankee
^ Not really ;) Also, I am a Red Sox fan (No offence YankeeFan =D) (none taken ^_^). I liked the way they played all year but I think they should pick up K-Rod (Why? You have Papelbon. Signing a guy thats gonna get the kind of money like K-Rod is' date=' and having him be the set-up or somthing...Thats just not right...)[/b'], and I too would have dumped Manny. They did better without him. (2007 with Manny Ramierz: World Series Champions. 2008 without Manny Ramirez: AL division champs. I'm gonna go ahead and just say your wrong on that ;)) Anyway I think Kevin Youkolis had a great year smacking in the 20 + Homers. I would keep him in the line-up. (True, he is a keeper ;)) Dustin Pedroia also had a good year so I think the Red Sox are set for the 2009 Season!(Not quite...What of your bulpen outside of Papelbon? Okajima wasn't exactly the same this year ;)) Ok, It's about time I say my plans, as a Yankee Owner/GM, I would immideatly sign C.C Sabathia, knowing not to make the same mistake the team did in the '07 off season by not getting Santana. I would then get Mark Texeria in place of Jason Giambi and Sexon. I would also do what I can do re-sign Ivan Rodriguez. Jorge is questionable now. Not telling what can happen now.Next I would, not 100%, gung ho effort, but still, I would try to sign Ben Sheets. If he signs, I would probably start him in spring training, and see how he does. I would put him as a set-up pitcher or starter, depending on his performance ;)Next, I would see what I could do to get Jake Peavy. My orginization needs some pitching help, starting with our, well....starters. Cheers,Yankeefan
