I got it 5 days ago and already beat it once on medium and working on hard. Type: Survival Horror Graphics/Looks~This game has 1 style of graphics going for it. 1. Ingame1. Ingame - since nearly every seen is ingame there is only 1 type of graphics work. monsters, you and the environment is strictly beautiful in every way shape and form. BUT with every good there is a bad. there are movie scenes that you see on your projector, that look just as good as the regular game its self, but seeing normal humans ingame are about ps2 graphics. which is a disappointment but something that will not take you out of the expierance. Note: 95% of the games graphics look how next gen should be. Rating - 9/10 Game Play~The beginning- Unlike most survival horror games they start you off light you have about 10 min to get to know how to run, walk, and open doors. which is a plus, they just dont throw you into the fire and tell you to have fun. after you get that down you have a run for the evil monster that is chasing seen. the finally you get your most trusted weapon in the game "the plasma cutter"! Fighting- time to shot some monsters in the head right? WRONG! for some unknown reason shooting monsters in the head and other core body parts is ineffective... to a point. yes u can kill them that way but it takes a long time and isn't effective. the most effective way to kill a monster in this game is to DISMEMBER them. thats right shot there arms and legs off. a totally original concept. Most monsters are fast unlike zombies and the like so think fast and on your toes. other than that the gun fighting is just like every other 3rd person shooter. EVERY THING IS IN GAME!- that means to grab and item you have in your pack you have to do it fast. that is one of the main things that makes this game so scary because in RE (resident evil) and others you can pause the game think about the item you want to use, not here baby! The fear- this game is truly the most creepyist and jumpyist game i have ever played. Image if your in destroy broken down ship filled with monsters that come out of no where to eat you? Litterly, monsters can come from anywhere at anytime, but they limit it, once you generally clear and area of baddies they dont come back. background music and sound effects all add fear to this game. that f-ing twinkle twinkle little star song creeps me out every time i hear it. there is also zero g, and space but ill get to those in a sec. monsters are loud and terrifying to look at... google it you'll see what i mean. Surprises lay in the dark- even though you can turn your tv to full brightness there is NO WAY to see in this games darkness. if an area of the ship has no power, guess what man your stuck with only your tiny flashlight to see. most Dark areas only hold goodies if your willing to look throw the blackness. others hold untimely death by 2 or 3 monsters u didn't see coming. Zero Gravity (zero g.) and Space- this game just has it all now not only can i walk on the ceallings of some places i cant here the monsters ether. =D that's right realistic fokes. just like in normal space, you cant hear a damn thing in this one ether. danger can sneak up behind you and u wouldn't even know its coming. you have a limited amount of oxygen so be fast in no oxygen areas else u will end up dead... twice.NOTE: i just found this out myself, u cant use the flame thrower in space ether XD. RPG upgrades: like there uncommon... yeah i dont feel like writing this one Rate- 10/10 Story~You are engineer here to fix a broken down ship... then hell gets loose. You must fine dairy's (aka: Logs) to uncover what has truly happen on board the ship while trying hard to escape and live. And I loved it. :p The RPG element of upgrading stats is also fun. it takes so long to do it though at the end of the game i only had my rig maxed and part of the cutter.
