Being a member of an armed force doesn't make you any more or less of a person than the next guy, and neither does ones rank among whatever force they join. There is no justifiable reason for ranked generals to get more Veteran benefits than the guy who left the army after watching his entire squadron get ambushed by Vietminh Guerillas. Think about it, they get Social Security for all of their work, just like the average equally hard working construction worker, but the Construction worker will never get the millions of tax dollars that War Generals simply do not need, money better spent on lower class children who have an entire lifetime in front of them.
