Savage Sorceresses - building a box for existing tools

My personal favorite set of cards is the Elemental Charmers. And not just because they're cute, though that certainly helps. In the right place at the right time they have the potential to be extremely effective. The problem, of course, is that at present there's no way to get them into the right place at the right time. Comparing the Charmers to a toolbox deck, currently the tools exist (or most of them do, anyway - we have yet to get a Light Charmer) but the box doesn't. The goal of this set is thus to make a box.

Now, one of the other sets I like, and one that doesn't get nearly enough support, is the Amazonesses. Here we have a bunch of tools with a box that's kind of old and rotting - the tools could use a fresh box. As a result, one day while high on sleep deprivation, I came up with a crazy (as in crazy stupid) idea. Why not make a Warrior/Spellcaster archetype that provides support for both of these by combining them? The result was my new project, the Savage Sorceress archetype, so named for the card that brings it all together.

Savage Sorceress Tribe opens up two possiblities. First, it allows the Charmers to be used together freely with the Amazonesses, without cramping the style of Paladin and Tiger. Second, it allows for Fusions. Now, in the interests of full disclosure: I personally hate the execution behind Synchro Monsters, you likely will never see a Synchro Monster from me. I would much rather come up with alternate means of Fusion. Thus, Savage Sorceress Tribe allows me to create both Charmer and Amazoness fusions, which I'll get to in a bit.

Now, we have The A. Forces for a solid offensive boost to the Amazonesses, but what's still lacking even with Tribe is a boost to the Charmers' ailing stats. Thus, the quick solution is to bring out another mostly-forgotten concept, Spell Counters.

Klarwind provides the Familiar-Possessed Charmers and the Amazonesses with enough ATK to survive against the 1900 ATK beatsticks that are omnipresent today.

Now back to what I mentioned before about Fusions - the easiest way to go about this is, of course, to simply pair up each Charmer with an Amazoness and give them a Fusion. This leaves two Amazonesses and one Charmer left over, which I'll address shortly.

Now that we've got those squared away, let's address the others. Considering the amount of people who run Dark and Light, these Charmers are likely to be more useful in their normal forms than they would be in a fusion. Furthermore, since there's likely to be a real Light Charmer in the future, I'm not about to make a fake one now. So we'll leave poor Dharc alone for now, maybe pair him with Tiger later, but right now I'm going to go with the route of the classical elements. That is, Earth and Water are traditionally associated with Dark, while Wind and Fire are traditionally associated with Light. And so we get the three-part fusions, Ravager and Angel.

That should have us settled with Fusions for the moment, so now let's build an important part of the box - the ability to get the right Charmer at the right time. Obviously it would be best if one could simply swap out the Charmers they had for the Charmers they wanted, so this next card does exactly that.

Now it's possible to include every Charmer type in your Deck, then trade them out to suit the situation. Alternately, this lets you get a Charmer matching their Amazoness partner so that you can get one of the Fusions out quickly. The Fusions have assured that the Charmers aren't useless if your opponent isn't running their element - your opponent can not have a single Water monster, and Eria the Amazoness Healer is still plenty enough reason to have Eria in play.

The next card in this set came to me when I was thinking about how to address the other end of the problem - the Amazonesses haven't gotten several major pieces of support that later archetypes have, most notably a Field Spell to call their own. So let's fix that, and fix the need to have field swarming capabilities at the same time. While I'm here, I'm also going to make a Field Searcher, following the standard set by Harpie Queen and Warrior of Atlantis. Maybe this Searcher will be paired with the Light Charmer later.

And finally, before I have to go make more cards, I'm going to share with you the prototype version of the mythical Amazon queen.

This thread will be updated periodically as I come up with new cards, so check back every now and then. Critique honestly - my goal is always to come up with something that I'll still like in six months.

EDIT: Since it's now required...I simply don't know where most of these images came from. A few were gotten from Google searches for their content, but most were gotten off of 4chan. Yeah, there goes the innocence of a bunch of little kids - now look what you've done! T_T

You know what? Screw it, I totally went there. Meet Kari the Light Charmer.

And with that out of the way, let's bring out the last two two-part Fusions - lucky thing I made Huntress earlier, eh?

Yes, that's Archer without his cloak. You know you want him. Now that we have all the Charmers partnered up, it's time to move on to the main part of the box, support cards. Ah, the ideas images from Fate can give you...

Expect more at some point.
