If you do not believe in asking persmission for images, leave this place, unless you used Google and have no possible way of contacting the artist, you should post a link to the permission given or a Screen Clip of the image, but if you don't, you would deserve a 5-day banning, under the slight chance of a no possible permission slip and then having posted a disclaimer under the artists own words and final, if you have no contact with the artist under 5 days after the ban, to be banned for 10 more days and repeat the punishment until you have posted the contact written by the artist then copy-pasted into the thread's description in bold italics.

I respect this measure, but it'll be too hard for us members to work with. May I suggest looking at the Creative Commons License attached to each work? Example:

1) Go to the page. (take this one that I made.)

2) Click the grey Creative Commons license under it.

3) Review the info there, and if the license allows you to use the work, do so. Otherwise, get permission beforehand.

The grey Creative Commons license under it states:the you are free to copy, distribute and transmit the work.

However, that's only an example set by the creator of the art. It isn't the only form of the license.

everyone on this site needs to figure out that this rule was enforced because where in violation of copyright infringment. Now if YCM could get a contract with DA it would be great, but i'm sure that they have already tried. Also i agree that it's hard to get permission and can't really be proven, but thats for the mod's/us/DA members to figure out. I do not believe everyone should be fighting about this let alone argue, most of us all just want the same to be able to use the pics. there not saying we can't use DA pics just get permission, and if you can't ask someone else or go to another site. It's not hard to find pics from books or magazines/ Draw pictures/ Look for pics on a different site, or get there permission, so if you cannot do any of the four i'm sorry to say that it will probably be the end of your card making day's on this site. but i hope everyone respects this rule, or finds another way to get pics, because i don't want to see this site fail because where to lazy to find other pics or ask for permission. so i leave you with these thoughts, "be respectful to the rule, as i will." "Respect others property as you would like your own to be." and "Respect the mods as they try to help and enforce this new rule.

Artists have their rights to their art, and the right to limit how/when its used, and Im all dandy with that notion. But im telling you now, most members will not go and take the time to ask a Deviantart member for permission without saving their art and using it on a card. So, unless there are a few members out there that are actually willing to do so, most members wont post new cards in the fear of it being deleted on site.
