It's not because we don't like you, or that we don't like opinions that aren't the same as ours. It's because your opinion sucks. Everyone has a sucky opinion at one time or another, but yours just happened to be seen by members on this message board.

 

There are a few reasons why your opinion sucks:

 

1. You fail to back up your opinion with rational reasoning and logic. This is often the case when people say, "I like Naruto better then Elfen Lied," then just *****ing about how you should respect their opinion without providing reasoning as to why Naruto is better then Elfen Lied.

 

2. The reasoning you provide is flawed. This is often the case with opinions such as, "I think global warming is wrong because this winter I had lots of snow and ice." Global warming isn't just going to get rid of snow/ice right away, and especially not in the northern/southern parts of the world. There will still be snow and ice, and often it will be quite bad.

 

That pretty much covers the basic types of sucky opinions. Any questions?

Of course, this is YCM. It's entirely possible that nobody agrees with you because everybody really is wrong, and you are the Only Sane Man. This case is less frequent, but correctness isn't decided by majority opinion.

I agree with you 100% on the former.

 

Plus sometimes people's only reason for not agreeing with you simply boils down to "Because I said so." Rare, but it does happen.
