JG.
I have wondered about this. How many WW's have there been in recorded history? Let's see there are the 1st and 2nd that we all know about. And what about the war against terrorism? The whole world is pretty much involved. That could just as well be a 3rd WW. I just want to know what you think about this.
Luna Lovegood
Then there was one fought over Canada, so thats up to 4. Probably the crusades, thats 5,6,7 and maybe a few more.
FindingTheEverlight
We're probably on World War XCI! Who knows, the world is constantly at war anyway...
Willieh
We've only had 2 registered world wars. But as far as moral standards go; there's no telling. It depends on what you consider to be a war, and what kind of percentage of countries you consider to be global. etc...

Good idea, the crusades were global at the time in the sense that almost the whole known world was involved. We're probably on World War XCI! Who knows' date=' the world is constantly at war anyway...[/quote'] You're right, but not all countries are involved at the same time. We've only had 2 registered world wars. But as far as moral standards go; there's no telling. Chinotornes
There are only 2 OFFICIAL World Wars. but the current "war on terror" is sometimes considered to be a 3rd. IT ISN'T!!

Guest Welche
Since humans have had weapons we have fought. I guess either there have been 1 because time is only one big war or, to many to count on 1 hand. The 2 WW are only new wars, although, I haven't heard of too many wars that involve most of the world. The Romans sort of invaded every were that was know to Europeans for thousands of years. The WWI and WWII didn't involve everywhere, but most places.  There are many wars going on now. In Africa and in the Middle-East.  The crusades were big, and so was Alexander the Great, but not enormous. There is my 2 cents, try to make sense of it. 2sick4u
So; This is basically a tally on to how many World War's there's been? Wow. What a debate.  By the way, disregarding times before the term "World War" was coined; there's been two. Unless a war is distinguished publicly as a 'World War', it isn't in fact a 'World War'.  Basically, in my opinion, there's an obvious difference between a War of a worldly nature, and an actual World War.  =). kungfuactionjesus
Experts say it is 2. If u use my definition of world, technically there have been 0, because not nearly all the countries were involved.
Holy Babylon
There were two. Don't count the war on terror as one, a world war takes place outside more than one boundary, and its outcome affects everyone.
Luna Lovegood
The war on terrorism is now in about 10-15 different countruies
Shrekstasy
Only the modern ones are called world wars, and the War on Terror may be the 3rd, if it continues a few more years... When Roman Empire was destroyed, it affected all of Europe, but that was 1500 years ago.. Holy Babylon
10-15 countries? All of the countries affected by the war are the ones in the Middle East. Look, while my dad was in Afghanistan the last time, he said that the only people fighting were us Americans. In fact, a team which he deployed was having an 8 HOUR long firefight with insurgents. The Polish Brigade was 9 blocks away, but they didn't do anything because it interfered with NATO rules. If you ask me, the only ones being affected by this war are the ones in the Middle East and America. The NATO rules don't allow NATO countries to attack any insurgents, America is the only country doing anything. That isn't a world war, besides, 10-15 countries out of over a hundred is nothing. Luna Lovegood
THE WAR ON TERRORISM. Not The war in the midle east. Terrorism and regular fighting are different.
