My Theory on 0-10 Post Users

Hello my fellow card makers.I bring upon this subject only because it is annoying,and I have a desire to stop it from happening.Lately (more then ever)there have been countless new members who stay on card maker maybe about 10-20 minutes to make their first cards.There have also been countless members that have posted in the wrong forums by asking questions.I believe that the number of quitting members is because when they first come on the site,if they ask a simple question or sometimes even post not great cards in one of our custom card sections,they are automatically negative repped,or they are beaten down verbally and told how much their first cards sucked. I think we need to help out new users as much as possible,because we were all there once (except for YCMaker :P).Instead of completely putting down new users because they've done something wrong with a card or said the wrong thing, we should try to advise them and help them become more familiar with the Card Maker community.Lets face it,if were not friendly,we aren't getting any more members.And I'm not saying the things we do are always for negative reasons, I mean there still are A LOT of users who spam and post...er... creative pictures I could say,that aren't meant to be posted here,but for the newbies,I'm sure they just want to learn.

I give almost always constructive critisism. But now when I see somebody already said wat I wanted to say or when sombody post cards that are realy 0/10 cards that aren't possible to give constructive critisism or cards who don't need constructive critisism.

 

But I gues I agree with Deity that some members (I deny everything) are a LITTLE hard for newbies how are realy bad the first time.

I admit that I am a little hard on newer members, but I give constructive criticism and helpful advice. I'm only really hard on people who post joke cards and cards that are so bad, you don't even know where to start with the advice. Also, your mostly right with the 0-10 post user thing. It's mostly true that they post their first cards and quit because they got yelled at, but they also may have become a member just so they can save their cards. Also, some might not care about talking on the forum. I recently joined another forum, and for the first month or so that I've been there, I've only made about 25 posts. It's not that it's a bad forum, I just don't fell like going there for whatever reason.

Hmmm, I had a warm reception when I posted my first card, but I have seen what you're talking about, with people attacking new members.

 

I do agree that we should put a stop to that, maybe they'll let you make a sticky for newbies to ask questions, post their first cards, etc.

Agreed Deity, though I dont make/judge cards anymore, I will say that many noobs make overpowered cards, and that MANY more hassle them about it, and its the veteran members doing that hassling. This place needs to become more friendly or new peoples won't join.

 

 

 

I think that Sartorius is the most stricted person on this forum.But I agree with

|)eity )Y(itsu.

 

Sart can be as mean as he wants when it comes to the real game, he is definently one of the top 5 players on the site (also top 5 a--holes, but you didn't hear it from me :P), but when it comes to fake cards, I dont see why him, or anyone, would care what someone makes. Creativity should never be put down.

i must agree. people who are new probably came from you tube looking at all the card vids. they have no idea about the rules like double posting And such.

 

P.S. sartorius is smart and often knows what he's talking about but he also words things badly and has a tendency to be mean stuck up and rude. no offense sartorius but it's the truth!

Ah yes, Speedguitar07. The only reason I negged him twice was because he would constantly double post, and I told him not to very frequently. Then he spammed some garbage and said something like, "Oh, I don't have to follow the rules, I'm new, so it's not really my fault". Yeah... but thats over and done with. It's new members like that who drive me crazy. If new members look at the rules, (the rules are there for a reason) there would be as much less spamming and double posting, and those n00bs would seem like newbs (which is good, I guess).

It's worse considering how many people are signed up now, when I joined, there were only three active members besides myself.

 

Anyway, I just flamed a bunch of people that flamed someone who posted his card in Games, I will quote myself to give my true opinion on this;

 

DO NOT FLAME THE NEW MEMBERS!!! WE ACTUALLY WANT THEM TO STAY HERE - THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS POST A LINK TO WHERE IT SHOULD BE AND NOT CALL THEM A NOOB; RS' date=' XBON, OLDMASTER, HORUS, SGY, SLIME[/b'] AND ANY OTHERS OF YOU WHO I FIND FLAMING LIKE THIS AGAIN WILL BE - REPPED, AND IF YOU DO IT AGAIN AFTER THAT I WILL BAN YOU FOR 3 DAYS. THIS SITE IS SUPPOSED TO BE FRIENDLY, AND YOU'RE MAKING US, BUT ESPECIALLY ME FOR HAVING TO TELL YOU OFF, ALL LOOK LIKE A BUNCH OF ***HOLES!!! SOME PEOPLE MIGHT BE LOOKING UP TO LONG-SERVING MEMBERS LIKE YOURSELVES, AND THEY SEE THAT!!!
