I thought DAD's Def. was 2000?

1000. So it's searchable by Witch.

It's nice that it can be used against so many monsters' date=' especially since Konami seems to like giving big monsters low DEF in an attempt to balance them, but it's completely outclassed by Snipe Hunter.

Notable and semi-notable cards this can destroy where running over it in battle with a 1500 ATK beatstick isn't an equivalent option:

Ally of Justice - Catastor

Ally of Justice - Light Gazer

Arms Aid

Asura Priest

Breaker the Magical Warrior

Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary

Cactus Fighter

Caius the Shadow Monarch

Celestia, Lightsworn Angel

Chimeratech Fortress Dragon

Colossal Fighter

Cyber Dragon

Dark Armed Dragon

Demonic Roaring God Galbath

Ehren, Lightsworn Monk

Elemental Hero Neos Alius

Elemental Hero Ocean

Elemental Hero Prisma

Elemental Hero Stratos

Enishi, Shien's Chancellor

Evil Hero Dark Gaia

Freed the Brave Wanderer

Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior

Gigantic Cephalotus

Gigaplant

Gladiator Beast Bestiari

Gladiator Beast Darius

Gladiator Beast Equeste

Gladiator Beast Laquari

Gladiator Beast Samnite

Grandmaster of the Six Samurai

Hand of the Six Samurai

Il Blud

Jain, Lightsworn Paladin

Junk Warrior

Krebons

Kuraz the Light Monarch

Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer

Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress

Marshmallon

Mezuki

Mobius the Frost Monarch

Mystic Tomato

Neo-Spacian Grand Mole

Psychic Commander

Pyramid Turtle

Raiza the Storm Monarch

Revived King Ha Des

Rose, Warrior of Revenge

Snipe Hunter

Spirit Reaper

Tempest Magician

The Six Samurai - Irou

The Six Samurai - Kamon

The Six Samurai - Zanji

The Tricky

Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch

Thunder King Rai-Oh

Vanity's Fiend

Wulf, Lightsworn Beast

X-Saber Urbellum

Zombie Master

Zombyra the Dark

Not that I have any idea why some of these guys, like Arms Aid, Asura Priest, or Neo-Spacian Grand Mole, would be on the field like for this to kill, but whatever. >_>

Oh, and it can destroy the opponent's copy of [i']itself[/i].

There are vastly superior options, not the least of which is Snipe Hunter. Could be usable in a different format where such options do not exist.

If this card is equipped with United we Stand or some other equip card' date=' then it OWNS!!!!! I like it better than Snipe Hunter. Yes, Snipe Hunter can destroy more, but do you really want to leave killing DaD to chance?

Considering that DAD has no built-in protection, I'd be much more worried about killing Stardust Dragon - something that this card can never kill regardless of how many attack boosts in gains.

If it has enough attack boosts, it can just kill Stardust by battle.

Almost anything with enough attack boosts can kill Stardust by battle.

My point exactly.

Despite this, I still see more people running Snipe Hunters than I see running Axes of Despair.

And Snipe Hunter seems to have lost some playability because people started realizing that hand control is really vital in this new format.

Weren't you just arguing recently that Hand Control is dead in this format?

Also half of the atlanta top 16 used Snipe Hunter.

Hand control isn't the same thing as hand advantage. Seriously, do you see DAD decks trying to quickly empty out their hand because they think hand advantage is bad?
