Guest Welche
Just leave the age. I think that as underage drinking is already happening, people already make fake ID, and stuff like that, if you made it legal for them to drink then the pubs and bars would be full of teens drinking. More drinking equals more violence. More shoot outs, all that stuff. Lets not do anything. Also, raising it will make people more likely to make fake ID. More Underaged Drinking, and if you have been enjoying the wonders of beer for a week then suddenly can't, you will want to get it, i.e. fake ID, robbery, anything really. ragnarok1945
well if you remove the drinking age all together and let them do as they please, the message would be brought out faster
Guest Welche
well if you remove the drinking age all together and let them do as they please' date=' the message would be brought out faster[/quote'] Your an idiot, if you did that, tones of people would die. Bar fights, little guys fighting big guys, getting killed because of the alcohol. NO!.
ragnarok1945
my point exactly. As Necro Lord had said, better to do nothing at all, thus you hope the people can figure it out themselves This was how the drinking age was established in the first place
Dark
I say, leave it alone. If you lower it, that is bad. If you higher it, it is good/bad. If you leave it alone, things will stay the same.
ragnarok1945
seems like that's the conclusion Necro Lord had, but if we leave it alone, wouldn't underage drinking slowly increase because today's teens are becoming more and more bold on such a topic? problematica
We leave the age limit alone. Today's teens only seem to be getting bolder and bolder because we have more of them and a bunch idiots that support it because we can't stop them anyways. And we can't just remove the limit altogether. That just flat out tells them that it's okay to drink and that's the stupidest plan ever. They're not gonna learn, why the hell do you think they're drinking underage or at all in the first place? And besides, I know lots of people who just ask their fathers (or mothers) for drinks and stuff. Frankly, many parents don't really care. And many teenagers do it secretly, also. problematica
We have laws against it and we have many groups against either underage drinking or drinking in general; there are even alcoholic rehabilitation programs across the globe. That's all we can do. We can't do anything else because there will always be people who break these rules or don't want to fix their problem. We just keep enforcing the laws and trying to keep people from or breaking their habit of drinking. Can't do any more than that.
ragnarok1945
well unless you want to go into arnarchy. But you're right, the 18th amendment to try to prohibit this turned out a complete failure and had to be crossed off. It just feels like we have no power over this drinking

Miazo
We don't. Whatever we do' date=' nothing will change.[/quote'] good. Why do you have to have the drinking age lowered. If you never start you will never get addicted to it.
ragnarok1945
Yeah well some people have the will power to quit on the spot, but you're right that most people don't
Sammidysam
Just keep it. When I am at the right age, I have decided I will only have Pina Colada's for alcohol... It might change though.
ragnarok1945
and hopefully it won't jump to to a higher age, although most people by then would have lost patience and begin underage drinking
