Guest Tiger
So, here I am, again. I was banned, because I requested it. Now, to get on topic, I am actually here to post why members of high profile leave. The truth is that members of high profile have been on here very long, and have gotten addicted to this site. Think of it as tobacco or cigarettes. Once you start, it is incredibly hard to stop smoking or chewing tobacco. Same as this site. Once a member joins and has been active for a long time, that member tries to give up playing yugioh or they try to move on in life, but they can't. Think of The Slime Lord for an example. He left because he had enough of the forum. That shows that he was once addicted to this site and tried to give up. Occasionally I see The Slime Lord online, but not often. Another example is glasstin10. Glasstin10 was addicted to this site and tried to leave, but leaving is so hard, so about a month later, glasstin10 came back. I am another example. Before, when I was a major member, I was so addicted, but you know what? I still got good grades. When I thought I should give up and leave, I started to get bad grades again, such as D's and C's. Where as before I got A's. That is partly why I am back, I will try to stay active, but I can't promise anything. There is a purpose to this thread, and that purpose was to tell all those members that are extremely sad about their friends leaving, why those people left. I think I was missed, but I'm not sure. This thread is for members like Ultimate Ryan, The Slime Lord, tuffguy, and many more members. I expect this thread to get locked, but I really think this thread is needed to tell all those members that are still sad about friends leaving this site. I was once a victim of addiction, but now, I hope that phase is over. This thread was not meant to insult any members I mentioned. Sorry if that's what you members inferred. This thread is just to tell members why other members left. -Tiger

Brushfire
I was a little irritated to not be used as an example here.I am also a prime example, with all my leavings and returnings. You are also very correct. YCM is like a drug and is very hard to give up. It interferes with my sleep, too.
Catman25
It is addicting. It's pretty much all I do in my spare time. I haven't played my wii too much, I've been online...

D-Striker
I was addicted to sites like runescape(stopped), webkinz(stopped), and YCM(still on). The first few days I loved it and got addicted, I got over it though. I still like YCM though, just not an adict.

Akira
I wouldn't say I'm addicted to this site, but I'm definitely an MSN addict and I know how it feels. I went away on holiday to Spain for a week but I couldn't enjoy my time there fully because I didn't have internet and I constantly wanted to get on MSN... Frlf
YCM is more addictive than crack Best quote in YCM history.I've been thinking of returning, but I think ''NO. You don't want to get in YCM again, its too addictive.''But here I am, posting, yes, its too addictive.I've left the times I've left because of that. I've been rejecting the idea of returning, but YCM is a stronger force =/. Yeah, but real life can beat YCM, but still you are addicted to YCM and such. And some poeple are understood better at the internet. There are many reasons. And my grades are also worse now that I left YCM, curious, isn't it? O.o *sigh* Oh no, I clicked the post reply button... the force is storng T_T.

Guest JoshIcy
Once you start' date=' it is incredibly hard to stop smoking or chewing tobacco. Same as this site. [/quote'] No its not. If you didn't have as much friends on this forum. This site would not be addicting at all, just as some people never really stay because they have not found their group in a given time. Do not blame the site, blame the social aspect that the members have created due to their own rather, healthy medium to communicate. That being Yu-Gi-Oh. Whether they do not continue using the Cardmaker or play the TCG anymore. There is still that medium to go back to. Which is why the Social Structure is so tightly bound. FindingTheEverlight
Hey Tiger, I missed you. And I also can agree, forums are addicting. I am a member of a Paramore forum, I've been a member for almost 3 months, I already am nearing to 3000 posts. So I can see where you are getting at. RestLess-BoTics
Glasstin10 was addicted to this site and tried to leave' date=' but leaving is so hard, so about a month later, glasstin10 came back.[/quote'] Lol, I was never addicted. I left to prepare for my eight grade year, the year before high school. I knew that studying and homework was a priority, so I left YCM for a month or so. Then, people started contacting me. Begging me to return. It was quite irritating, but I held in my feelings (as usual), and I took their suggestions into consideration. Once I started school, I found out that the homework load wasn’t as bad as I had expected it to be, and the tests weren’t too difficult; as long as I stayed responsible and prioritize. So just to make sure, I stayed away from YCM for a few more weeks, making sure that everything was perfect before I could act upon the suggestions I had received. So, I returned. Not because I was addicted, but because I knew I had more to contribute to the site. Also, I returned because I had nothing to worry about regarding school, or any other aspects of my life. My grades were excellent, and my happiness always had a positive effect on the situations I have come across in my life. Of course, life outside of YCM was wonderful. Spending more time with all the people in my class, playing golf, and playing piano, I could’ve left YCM forever. But, I knew that I wasn’t the kind of person that just deserts a website, that contained a whole different variety of friends, and one that I had spent quite some time on. Of course, there were other reasons that I left. During that time, new moderators were being picked, and I hoped that I would at least have a chance at giving more to the site, with a higher position. In other words, I wanted to be a moderator. My eyes were set for the general section, one of the busiest sections on YCM. And then, one day, I logged in and found out that a member named ~Raven~ was selected to moderate the section I wanted to moderate. I was extremely surprised by this decision, because I had never, in my whole history at YCM, met or saw a member named ~Raven~. I had my doubts, but they were proven wrong. She was good. Really good. Soon, I became happy that she was chosen. But a few old feelings still resided in me. The Slime Lord wanted me to moderate general. To me, this wasn’t just some plain statement from a random member. This was a member that I had looked up to ever since I joined YCM, a member that also moderated the general section. And he was a legend. He was good at what he did. He was friendly, and he got the job done. He was what I strived to be. So this factor really took a toll on me when someone else was chosen for the job I wanted. I wasn’t jealous in anyway, I was just upset, after my past dedications; nothing seemed to count. Yup, that's my story. *Yawn*. Gosh. I really get into things, huh… :] -Glasstin

That took a while to read. Sorry about that, it just seemed that you left for that reason. As I stated in the first post; This thread was not made to harm anyone. I would also like you for moderator. Check the stickied requests thread in General. I posted that you would make a good moderator. I had heard of ~Raven~ before she was moderator. We were friends. On my birthday, Raven wished me a happy birthday in a very nice way, and from that, I knew we were friends :D
