ragnarok1945
The sheer weight of numbers DO make a difference even in the nuclear world, a fact MacArthur clearly overlooked 55 years ago
The Dark One
Unless someone with a death wish is elected, there will never be a nuclear war. After the first nuke is fired, everyone else is going to start shooting off missiles and taking sides as well. There are enough nukes in existence to wipe all life of the surface of the Earth. ragnarok1945
yeah, like 20 times over. During the height of the arms race at least the countries played by the rules. Now there's no rule book at all

Cyber Altair
Great' date=' time to choose another country to go to war with.[/quote']Â I suggest an African country, blaming them for something and then crushing them while stealing their mines shouldn't be hard =\
ragnarok1945
Ya WW1 Trench warfar. WW2 Armore then the N bomb... and now Guerrilla anything goes. Great. We can now scrap the rule book of war since there are none now

ragnarok1945
look, every war ever fought has to have some rules to it (you can say there's none, but there is), so the book is the rulebook. You go into terrorism, there's only one rule in the rules of war, and that's the rules don't exist. Freeman The Master
true but i think hittler made a ship over the limmit the bizmark i think. it brock all the rules of navel battle.sorry firefox is down and my spelling is not that good. ragnarok1945
that's completely different. The Bismark was built in secrecy so the western allies had no idea about it. According to all German reports it displaced no more than 15,000 tons (within the legal limit), whereas in reality it was almost 4 times that. That's merely deception, well within the rules of war
Freeman The Master
but the real thing was not but is still was a ship and that ship got destroyed.
ragnarok1945
yeah I know the real ship was much bigger once it was found out, but by then the treaty was torn up and Germany could do whatever it wanted. That's basically scrapping one rule book for another
Freeman The Master
and then another and then another, how is it that western civ. must have a rule to every thing while in the east they do what ever they want as long as it kills the enemy?
ragnarok1945
*shrugs* the east's rulebook is different under different dictators, they do not care too much for the rules of war (and for that matter, humanitarian principles)

ragnarok1945
wrong, that's just during the nuclear arms race 50 years ago, when both the US and USSR played by the rules. Today, terrorists do not care for this. Anything that can kill, anything goes
The Dark One
I find it funny the way everyone is treating the collection of restrictions on weaponry such as the Non-proliferation Treaty and the land-mine ban as some "rulebook."Â But I get what you guys mean.
