dru-gi
I tried to make this card as balanced as possible and have added rulings based on TCG examples. ROTP stands for my fictional set called Return of the Pharaoh. "Select 1 face-up monster you control and discard any number of cards from your hand to the Graveyard. For the amount of turns equal to the number of cards you discarded the selected monster cannot be destroyed by battle and is unaffected by the effects of your opponent's Spell Cards, Trap Cards and Monster Cards. This effect is applied until the End Phase of the last turn." Rulings:- The turn this card is activated counts as the first turn.- The number of cards you discard is a cost.- This card targets.- If your opponent's "Skill Drain" is already active on the field and "Card Guard" is activated targeting your Effect Monster the targeted monster will not be affected by "Skill Drain" for the duration of "Card Guard's" effect.- If you activate "Card Guard" and your opponent chains "Ring of Destruction" to destroy the target monster, its targeting conditions are no longer correct when "Card Guard" resolves and the effect of "Card Guard" disappears.- If you activate "Card Guard" and your opponent chains "Book of Moon" to flip the target monster face-down, its targeting conditions are no longer correct when "Card Guard" resolves and the effect of "Card Guard" disappears.- When the Ignition Effect of "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End" is activated, and you chain "Card Guard" the targeted monster is not destroyed and sent to the Graveyard.
