ragnarok1945
well' date=' how my parents reacted and where I grew up (a farming community...I was born and raised on a farm), so I was afraid...but one of my friends from college told me to do it, cause I shouldnt make myself miserable because of how others felt about it. So, I asked him out and here we are.[/quote'] The trick is to know when you're doing it right, and when you're too bold. For me and my gf it took WAY too many months to figure that out

ragnarok1945
this thread helped me with things for my gf as well, to get things off the boring state we're in right now
JRKinky
The trick is to know when you're doing it right' date=' and when you're too bold. For me and my gf it took WAY too many months to figure that out[/quote'] Well, I went on dates with other guys before...and all were just eh...I didnt feel anything between us. And I knew I always liked my now bf....and he said he always liked me. We were just afraid to ask the other out, especially since we didnt actually know about each other. But then I found out about him, and I was still nervous, but my friend told me to go for it...and he said yes and that he'd been waiting for me to ask him out. and yeah. So, what is the "boring state" you're in? how long have you and your gf been together?
ragnarok1945
I know what you mean. When me and my gf first met and talked to each other, neither of us felt a spark at all. Even after a full month of it neither of us felt anything. Sometimes you have to wait REALLY long for it

Even after a full month of it neither of us felt anything. Sometimes you have to wait REALLY long for it[/quote'] I think I know what you're getting at. In the first month or so of my relationship, I was getting on really well with my girlfriend but it seemed we were both still very shy of each other, and it made things pretty awkward. You'll think this sounds like some sickly awful movie cliché, but this is the honest truth - when I got the courage to finally give her a kiss, things were suddenly far less tense between us, and we were much more open with each other.. and here we are today after 2 years ^^
ragnarok1945
Same here. I think neither one of us began to feel the spark until at least 6 and a half months have passed since we've known each other. Some of my friends knew NOTHING of patience. They expected a max of 1 month before the spark must occur
JRKinky
well, we had a spark, but we didnt really act on it or anything...and a lot of people think, "Oh, there has to be that spark there immediately. If the spark isnt there, you're only friends." Hello, your gf/bf (whether you're gay or straight) is your friend! Our spark is going stronger and stronger every day. Yes, we fight, but thats part of a relationship. A lot of my friends think you're not supposed to fight and if you fight, the spark is obviously gone...WRONG! Fighting is normal. It just makes the couple stronger, especially when they work it out.
ragnarok1945
well yeah, fighting in the relationships, but not to pressure for the couple to be together right away
Arekku_Koro
Well' date=' I'm a young 12 year old with a BF who is the most kind and considerate guy ever. He is just so perfect and caring, and he is a great guy to talk too. He is just very shy. We are one of those couples who are to shy to do anything besides talk to eachother and we are also shy talking to eachother in person. Should I try to talk to him more and fix the shyness? Another thing is that I promised to hug him very soon (like I said, we are shy so even a hug is hard), but whenever I try ot hug him, I freeze up and just can't do it, he is also shy about it. What should I do to progress the relationship?[/quote'] I believe nothing you can do would turn off Patrick.

ragnarok1945
I've met plenty of shy people in my life, but every one of them admitted there is something they aren't shy about. I doubt this is an exception
Marisa Kirisame-ze
Hmm, what do you mean what is he not shy on? The things he isn't shy about is talking to his other friends basically, well, accually, he isn't shy about talking to me anymore, he seems fine talking to me because I talk to him alot now, but we can never hug eachother and when someone brings up the fact that we are boyfriend and girlfriend, he goes silent and so do I. ragnarok1945
Well the fact he's not shy talking to you is a start. Go from there, you'll get to the hugs soon
