bored so im back and working on counter fairies.

1 splendid venus

2 voltanis

3 athena

2 honest

3 bountiful

3 meltiel

3 harvest

2 fools

18

1 lightning

2 valhalla

2 sanctuary

2 celestial

1 reborn

1 mystical

9

3 solemn

3 dark bribe

3 negate attack

2 synthetics

3 divines

14

deck 42

two possible variations ive been thinking of are:

1) the inclusion of synchros by adding in the herald of orange and temperance (with stardust in mind)

2) adding a morphing jar and horns of heaven and taking out the sancs (to balance the numbers)

i guess the idea is to provide enough stall and speed to keep up with normal decks

thoughts?

negate attack is better. counter fairies have weak attack, in order to keep them on the field i need some protection, and negate is a countertrap so i reap all the benefits.

van was too obstrusive to fit in. first, it needs to successfully negate, second its only mt's and effects, which means i need some specific counter traps, whereas voltanis works on anything for quick field clearing, last its a dark dragon, not a light fairy, so it doesnt benefit from any of my supports, i.e. splendid venus, athena, sanctuary...

also, shield spell type requires a discard of a spell for untargeting magics, which are the most prolific kind, and i dont have the amount of spells needed to casually drop them from my hand.

i feel inclined to ask if you know all the cards up there(no offense), but ill go ahead and explain it anyway

first of all, the fool, spec'd to defense by valhalla or reborn with a tails coin toss, is the perfect shield. barring piercing damage and field clearing effects, its untouchable.

in case you didnt know, counter fairies are SLOW.

so adding a light fairy shield that can stall opponents from doing anything for turns on end is incredibly beneficial. youd have have to make one hell of an argument to get me to drop the fool. its a spirit reaper or marshmallon on crack.

next, synths in a counter fairy deck that runs athena and voltanis is sadistic.

especially if i put horns of heaven in here, which would drop a token to make a token and stop a summon.

but let me explain this a bit.

athenas effects work wonders with synth. first, everytime one of those tokens is summoned, it burns 600 times the number of athenas. second, an athena can trib a synth token to special summon ANYTHING in my deck from the grave. i could turn a synth token into a splendid venus and then deal some real battle damage with my traps protecting them. furthermore that special summon would also burn another 600, so used correctly, i can burn 12 for counter trap activated. thats sadistic.

next, voltanis' effect. first off, a fairy token is created when a counter trap activates. next, using volt's effect, you can trib that same token and any other ones on your side of the field to special it, and kill a card for every fairy trib'd. thats a perfect combination.

next, shields. if i dont have monsters, a synth with some backfield traps completely protects me. opponent attacks one turn, i negate, creating a token to protect me next turn.

last, tribute fodder. these tokens can easily get out a venus or athena the boring manual tribute way.

.. im sorry, i didnt quite.. understand that...

edit:

also, i just noticed your counter fairy deck.

interesting. though im wondering at the purpose of invincil. i mean, you should want your opponent to activate spells and traps simply so that you can counter them, shouldnt you? o.o

but that aside, it doesnt look quite like you have enough fairies to support voltanis... just my opinion.

edit again:

does that say: meltiel sucks, drop for vans?

cuz meltiel is pretty useful...

paying 1k less to solemn something is awesome, furthermore if i actually have sanc on the field i get to nuke one of his cards. in fact, solemn is probably the best reason to include meltiel. with a meltiel, you gain 1k after a solemn, so youd go from 8k to 5k, 5k to 3.5k, and 3.5k to 2.75k

furthermore if you were to use this comination with low lifepoints, (lower than 2k), youd actually gain lifepoints by solemn'ing

and lets not forget that hes a light fairy, so he benefits from the supports of athena, voltanis, venus, sanc, and valhalla
