My Dog is Dying.

I know many of you probably don't want to hear about my dog, but I feel so much better when I share some things. A few days ago my dog's leg was growing a huge bump on it so we went to the veterinarian and they didn't know what it was. We went back a few days later for a few more tests on our dog 'Lily' and the veterinarian told us that out dog, Lily, has an aggressive bone cancer that cannot be cured. Now, about a week later, my dog has an even bigger bump and cannot walk. When she has to go to the bathroom we have to lift her outside and hold her so she can do her buisness, it's very sad to watch. Her leg is almost always bleeding and we might have to put her to sleep soon. If we do have to put her to sleep soon, it will be after Christmas. This is sad because our dog is 14 years old(in dog years), has arthritis, a heart murmer, she is deaf, and now she has cancer. And to top it all off, our other dog, Phoebe won't stop bothering Lily and Lily is whining all the time. I love Lily and don't want her to die....:cry:

 

If my dog does die soon, then Phoebe will be all alone. Phoebe is only 9 months old and cannot be left alone for 6-10 hours a day. There is no choice, though. I know most members don't care and they'll post stuff like "We don't care. REPORTED!!!" or whatever, but I had to get this message across. Don't report it. You'll only hurt yourself. I'm incredably sad to hear this horrable news, and I'm sure you people won't even give a thought about what has happened. This could affect my life...and my stay on YCM.

It must be painful. I had to watch one of my friends' dogs die. It left him in a state of social disorder for the next 2 months

We had to put him to sleep, but Scamp(My current) got a new playmate last year(July) Daisy jumped in our car & wouldn't get out, so we just HAD to keep her

However, when things go by, look to the sweetthings of this, no matter how temporary life may be, is it safe to say that it is NOT permanent? I say life can be spiritually permanent, for Lily will live in your heart and your soul. Just remember the the title of the movie, "All dogs go to heaven."

No offense, and don't neg me for this, but you are going to have to get over it. Do you want to live your life remembering this incident and becoming a pesimist or some EMO person? I think you should just forget about it, it would be the most help for you.

I know. It's just that. Lily has been with me all my life. We found her as a puppy and raised her ever since. When I went to preschool, Lily would sit in my room and wait for me to come home, feeling sad. Atleast Lily lived a long and good life.

Well a few years ago my dog lost the ability to walk and started puking and craping everywhere and he had to be put down, but you don't see my spreading my problems.

I am all the way with you dude! One of my old hamsters was biting on his cage and he broke his 2 teeth.We brought him to the vet and they suggested that we give him soft berry foods.We did that but he died a month later becuase he was too old *5 years old.Enjoy your pets as long as you can.

Keep looking on the optimistic ends: your dog may not die, and that gives you something to hope for
