Think before you post - Arguments

Akira

Recommended Posts

I often find myself questioning whether this is a forum or a battleground. I come here at my own leisure to discuss topics of my choice, not to scroll through pages of arguments within threads where sad individuals refuse to let the smallest things die, due to their over-inflated ego. We're all responsible and it would be a lie to say that I have never engaged in an argument of this sort myself, but it's getting really tiresome. So, I ask you all to think before you post - if someone is beginning to bother you, take the mature option and just ignore it. If you have to, just take it straight to PM. Let a spark die before it turns into wildfire. In doing this, not only are you being the better person, you're saving your own time and also everyone else's; the bystanders who must sit and watch this petty squabbling. Finally, you'll make the lives of the mods far easier, and allow them to be more proactive as a result - they have to deal with enough crap here already, so the last thing they need is to have to be the one to step in and resolve these pointless arguments.

I'm not singling anybody out here, as I mentioned earlier we've all been responsible at some point, but I just think that with a little prior thought, we can all cut down on this unnecessary arguing.

Remember - having the last word does not make you seem macho, cool, or anything else - it just highlights your immaturity and inability to let dead things lie.

Peace..

As it stands, it is is both immature and impolite to take to arguing.

And as you have mentioned we all have done it, including myself on several occasions :?

But, on the other hand, if you can take a dispute and make it into an actual argument that actually supports the topic of thread, without swearing, or making in appropriate contents, then go ahead.

But just like in that thread, the arguments and accusations were becoming more and more immature.

Don't get me wrong though, sometimes it is cool to get the last say, but it is not always a prominent thing. It's better to have thought your glory, then to bask in a promiscuous defeat.

In that example thread, I remember that I actually didn't need Bloodrun to tell me to stop argueing...unless you are not talking about me.

I actually had enough sense to say "Let's continue this over PM."

Anyway, yeah..I may sometimes get into stupid arguements, but I do have sense enough to realize the matter is probably stupid and shouldn't take place on the forums...but either way, it's probably too late, because it's already posted.

Anyway, yeah..I somewhat agree.

It shouldn't have started in the thread anyway.

The fact of the matter is you look lame if you just drop it and let the other person think they've won.

It's your personal responsibility to make them wrong rather than yourself. This especially applies to the debate's forum.

There is a certain level of tolerance towards this though.

This thread is an arguement.

i agressively disagree.

This thread is a serious topic' date=' don't post stupid things like that.

this is not a stupid post. and what you said was as stupid as my post if it comes to the bottom line. whether this is an arguement or not, i agree with Akira, having the last word doesn't matter anyway, and most of the posts in this forum anyway were made to inflame the anger of other posters, leading to arguements.

and regardless of that, hi.
