ATTN: Anyone who thinks that Konami taking over the TCG means better rarities, etc.

Be less stupid, please. Konami is and always was the group that decided what got printed when and how in the TCG. UDE was doing everything in their power to impact changes, but Konami, most of the time, stopped them. That's right. Konami was the one who bumped DAD from a Rare to a Secret Rare. Konami was the one who removed the Monarchs from the Monarch Structure deck. Not UDE. So, when arguing the merits and downsides of Konami totally taking control of the TCG, please try and get your facts straight.

Ebil!

I was wise enough to simply not post anything about s*** I don't know' date=' keeping in mind that time would tell.

And it just did.

Question: Who MAKES the TCG-Exclusive cards?

Konami, if I recall correctly.

I think this is a pretty thorough explanation for everything.

Things I expect to see when we go OCG:

1) That we get the same product release dates as in Japan

2) Card prices will take a huge nose dive

3) Card name changes (ex: Return Fairy-Type to Angel-Type monsters and Fiend-Type to Demon-Type monsters)

4) Japanese/Asian cards becoming legal for North American tourneys

5) Card Rarity changes

Do you realize that Konami is not likely to do any of that?

Or' date=' more importantly, what information that's currently released led to you any of those conclusions?

Simultaneous release means you can't observe the popularity and effectiveness of cards. Without this information, rarity-change decisions would be nearly impossible to gauge (from the corporation's perspective, because we all know the guys that make this game can't play), and thus cards cannot be upgraded to higher rarities to promote sales. Konami isn't going to pull a stunt like this unless they want set their profits on fire, because everyone will be pulling their Common Plaguespreaders out of single packs instead of buying a box to pull it as an Ultra.

Thus, considering how simultaneous release is not likely to occur, that means rarity changes/deck modifications will happen as they have before. If this is the case, most likely, then card prices will remain as high as they ever have been, because Konami is never going to peel the holo off of Crush Card Virus and pack into deck and sell it in America. The lack of simultaneous release would also mean a constant gap between TCG and OCG, and because of that, cards would not be allowed to be used cross-boundary to maintain fairness.

Also, please note that even though Japan is not loaded with religious zealots, the rest of the world is. Unless Konami wants to a gun to its head, it's not going to revert back to Angels and Demons and Pentagrams and whatever other crap all those retarded Christians rage about. Massively conservative zealous parents massively influence their children's purchases; and if they see a drop of blood dripping off of the halo of some three-fourths-naked double-D chick nailed to a perpendicular set of sticks set in front of flaming star, you can bet your worthless empty skull that they're not going to buy that crap.

What the hell do you use your brain for anyway?
