sbdnate
everyone remembers chain burn a few metas back and it did pretty well for itself but, do you think burn cards will be able to make it back up to meta with pmd around? as everyone knows, there are ways around pmd but are there enough to make a burn deck viable again? could the problem be fixed with more burn cards or are burn cards never going to see the light of day again in fear of running into pmd? could they be played if they were somehow made faster? GenzoTheHarpist
Who runs PMD? I don't remember any notable decks at any recent Jumps doing it.
CrabHelmet
I remember a year ago when Baboon Burn and Comic Odyssey were Top 16'ing in SJC's. Given Konami's recent habits in card design and banlist construction, however, plus the advent of Synchro Monsters, I would not expect to see burn come back anytime soon. Tabris
Without W-MC's thousand-point-per-turn damage, or Chain Strike at any number other than 1 (or, as some contend, 0), Burn's six feet under. But of course I'm talkin' of a decent meta.

CrabHelmet
Er' date=' Chain Strike is currently at two.[/quote'] In this topic, "a decent meta" refers to Konami's current banlist, complete with Semi-Limits.
Tabris
+ scratches head + By "decent meta" I mean one that balances the need for diversity with the need for order, not Konami's banlists (if those squiggles should even be called anything). GenzoTheHarpist
Er' date=' Chain Strike is currently at two.[/quote'] In this topic, "a decent meta" refers to Konami's current banlist, complete with Semi-Limits. I misinterpreted his statement to mean that Burn could succeed if Chain Strike was above one, which is contradicted by the current state of the meta. Lemniscate
the problem with burn now is it is slow, and even if it fixes that problem and becomes mainstream, people will just start playing PMD to counter it. Unless burn cards come around that are somehow immune to, or can get around, PMD's effect, burn is dead.

Megaworm
Konami needs more quickplay burn cards. Burning monsters (not swappaz), Burning Traps that are legal (i miss you Ring of Destruction) and maybe a burning field/synchro.
