Is any life better than no life at all?

If someone came up to you and pointed a gun at your son and said ' Either you let us take him with us and raise him, or we'll kill you both now.' If you knew that if they took him he would be raised to hate and taught to kill, but he would also be well fed and clothed and educated, would you let them take him?

You have no other options, you must either give your child to them or let him be killed with you.

This is the choise that many many mother faced during WW2 in Nazi Germany.

They could let their children be raised to be Nazi soldiers or let them die at a young young age.

Is it better to let yourself and your children die or to let them live as murderers?

Do you think the people who choose to give their child up were in the right, or in the wrong?

^ Yes I do.

I'd probably have the son taken away. I wouldn't mind giving my own life for the preservation of my son's, but faced with the threat of having his life taken away if I don't cooperate, I'd feel responsible for his death. Of course the thought of having him grow up to be a remorseless, bigoted, emotionless killer would make me sick.

And well you have to investigate it from the child's point of view.

Someone comes in the house in a black cloth, armed with a gun. He says, that either he will kill us or he takes me to raise me in their fashion. Than my beloved daddy says, "well, kill the child..." - You know in that case I would get really pissed off. What an unexpected treachery! I mean I know, that unless I'm an adult, my parents have the right to decide instead of me in official issues...

Agreed, I would have said something similar to that.

Just overall, having my son killed is really NOT an option at all. (If I ever had children)

"No life" doesn't exists.

If you let the kid die, you'll save him a lot more pain then letting him die in the 2nd WW.

At the other side, if you let him live, and therefore yourself, you'll live in pain forever.

Nobody knows what the kid would feel if he died. Nobody knows what happens when someone dies.

I mean, can you imagine you can't think, see, feel at all?

if you die, what do you become? Would you live in nightmares forever?

Okay, you won't live then, But can you imagine how it is to NOT to think? No. You can't.

And therefore, that status doesn't exist.
