Cyber_Commander note that there are currently two cards in the OCG/TCG using Ice Counters but neither took the effect that monsters with Ice Counter(s) cannot change their battle positions so it shoudn't be an effect of the Ice Counters because if I'm correct all cards that can place A-Counters have stated wat an A-Counter does.

Zynix, an admirable post, but you should really learn to read. The opening line of my post says that it's hypothetical support for Ice Counters. Furthermore, since there are only two cards in the OCG/TCG that use Ice Counters, I think this would be an Archetype more easily edited than a large one. It doesn't hurt that both of the TCG/OCG cards in question originally had manga effects dealing with Ice Counters like these, either.

hurray! they're here, kinda. i really hope you make them as not just written cards. if you do, are you going to use manga pics that you colored? what i've seen of those are really awesome.

 

anyway, 8.5/10 for now. it'll probably go up though since i seem to like these more each time i read them.

Haha, thanks. Yeah, with some luck, I might be able to find some decent images and edit them a bit, since I'm very choosy when it comes to images.

 

I can't use the colored Manga ones - they're already Manga cards. However, Frostbite Magician is supposed to be of a very similar animation style to Cold Enchanter. I'll see what I can find.

 

In the meantime, I think I'll post a card with the image I was commissioned...

Ice Counters.. lol. I made an Ice Counter set too, it was only like 20 cards though. Then I moved a step ahead to Ice-type monsters. Fun was had.

 

These look both balanced and broken. Shimmering Dragon is broken. 3 Ice Counters on the field to Summon without Tribute, and he'd gain 1500 ATK off the bat. So, that's a 4300 ATK Normal Summon. And you can get the 3 counters with Ice Blossom. Limit Reverse that little thing and throw down big daddy. Really, unnecessary.

 

Frozen Palace is ridiculous too. It's Venom Swamp with a win condition. Lol what? Sure, 10 turns is like "yeah right," but it doesn't need to be on the card just to add pressure to get rid of it (as if -500 ATK per Ice Counter wasn't enough pressure.)

 

A good idea in concept, but a lot of the cards push the envelop, and a lot of combos are put right in plain sight to make Ice Counter spreading not nearly as hard as you're making it out to be.

 

7/10 all around.

Shimmering Dragon is a Boss Monster. He's supposed to be powerful, although, I'll admit, 500 ATK is a lot for every Ice Counter on the field. I was thinking of changing it to 300 per Counter, which should be much better. You make a valid point, although anyone that runs Limit Reverse this format, and even less, for one card, doesn't have a brain stem.

The amount of time cards spend on the field this format are at an all-time low, what with all the destruction, negation, and removal running around. Ten turns may not seem like much, but it's plenty of time for nay competent Duelist to pull an MST, Heavy Storm, etc.

In case you hadn't noticed, only three cards can place Ice Counters with any reliability - Ice Blossom, Frostbite Magician, and Shimmering Dragon. Of those three, one is a Level 7 monster that requires Ice Counters on the field for it to be of any use. I'm basing a lot of these cards' effects and playability as compared to the top tiers of today's Metagame, and how they would perform against it. TeleDAD is easily one of the best Decks we've seen so far, and players that don't run it will have to be using some pretty good cards to stand a chance of victory. Hence, the powerful effects and speed for the Ice Counters, although there's no way that these cards could ever be broken, since any Deck that relies on Counters will never be top tier.

 

One new card added - Frozen Chimera.
