AKC: Yet another good post. ^^ Yeah, Cold Witch might need some kind of reduction/limit. However, this set is originally from my Forum, where I submitted it for our Custom Card League (CCL). If it's too stand any chance at all, it needs to be a tiny bit broken. However, I do admit that Frozen Spring needs some kind of limit, probably a semi.

 

While these cards seem really abusable, I'm creating them in an environment when several cards are limited/banned. For example, in the CCL, CoSR is at 1. =/

 

Scorpion: Where are the OCG errors? Kindly point them out. And thanks.

Cold Witch = Broken as hell D:

That with CoSR + Brionac = OTK/FTK o-o.

 

Instant Freeze = 3 turns? CCV much? D: bring it down to at least 2 turns... or 1

 

Cold Blur = hmm... can't say anything for this card... but maybe the CoSR thing might replay.

 

Double Counter = win? with cards like Venom Swamp / Wave Motion Cannon... this card is asking for double the trouble it's poking for.

 

It's like an abundant supply of "Oh hey i remove all counters on the field and inflict 50,000 LP Damage to you" it's spammable o-o.

 

Spell Harvest

I 'kinda' like it... the problem lies on some CCG cards being too unpredictable

But it's a cool card for CB Support (Might abuse it with my Prism Beast Coal Tricera to special summon itself lol)

 

Blizard Tiger = it's a giant beatstick and a mini Cyber Laser Dragon... o-o....

 

 

Well that's all i can poke at it D:

 

and i rate thee at least 8/10 they're still op T-T

Okay...^^ I see u got Ice Counters too xD...

 

Anyway, not bad, but there is lot of overpowered cards that could be abused like nothing....

Here are some with reasons why is that :

 

Blizzard Tiger

Attribute: Water

Type: Beast/Effect

Level: 3

ATK: 1500

DEF: 1100

When this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, place 1 Ice Counter on it. This card gains 300 ATK for each Ice Counter on it. You can remove 1 Ice Counter from this card to destroy 1 face-up card your opponent controls.

 

-> this card is stronger then Breaker, The Magical Warrior....

1) you can search it really fast with Mother Grizzly, get it back from the Graveyard with Salvage etc..

2) most broken part is that u get 1 Ice Counter even on Special Summon, so each time you Special Summon this card , you will make your opponent lose 1 monster , which is -1...

Breaker got his counter only when Normal Summoned , and he is crazy broken card....also, he destroyed Spells and Traps, while this one destroy monsters..and in TCG, all is about monsters right now...

This card would be banned in TCG.

Frozen Blessing

Continuous Spell Card

During your Standby Phase, if there is at least 1 Ice Counter on the field, you can draw 1 card.

 

-> in Ice Counter deck, this would be +1 almost every turn....banned

Frost Avatar -> way too easy to Special Summon him..with other cards in combination, i see this deck goes far away in speed and power then TeleDad decks for example....this card makes so easy and unfair OTK...and he can also negate effects...banned

Queen of The Frozen Realm -> in Ice Counter this, this is again really easy -1 for opponent....banned

Cold Witch and Frozen Chimera got same problem..way too easy, no real costs etc...total abuse...banneddd.....

There are some other overpowered cards, but it is more combination of them all that makes problems, then they alone , so i don't have time and will right now to give whole summary....

Anyway, cards i most like in this set are : Shimering Dragon, Extra Freeze...Frozen Palace got great pic ( i am planning to steal it xD )....

 

OCG is really good, most of pictures are nice too ( better then average ones on this forums ), most of cards are not really original though, there is lot of broken cards, and theme itself in combination is broken....

 

So at end :

OCG 10/10 ( i am not good with OCG, so...)

Pictures 7/10

Creativity 6/10

Balance 3/10

Total : 26/40

I hope your argument will not be : "To counter TeleDad decks..." , because this cards would rape them..and it is wrong approach to counter broken cards with other broken cards...good way would be to ban broken cards, which happened in this format, but TCG is still much faster then it should be ;)

I don't generally base my arguments on what other people hope for, sorry. D:

 

TeleDAD is a has-been Deck. Lightsworn are at the top of the game now, and few Decks can mill and Special Summon with the ferocity that they do.

Hardly any of these cards are broken, barring the infinite Cold Witch + Ice Blossom combo. If you can't see that, than you're bad Ygoz, unfortunately.

 

I'll just quickly prove you wrong, although I might get a friend of mine who really knows his Ygo to post here, too.

 

1) Blizzard Tiger only destroys face-up cards, barring your general selection to face-up monsters and either Continuous, Equip, or Field Spells and Trap Cards. None of these are at any particular high right now - Lightsworn Decks are just too fast to make use of anything slower than one turn, maybe two. He has relatively low ATK, 1500, meaning that he can be run over pretty easy by Garoth or Jain, even with his Ice Counter. He wouldn't be banned.

 

2) Frozen Blessing is a Continuous Spell, meaning that it loses a lot of power right off the bat. Sure, it's a +1 in most situations, but I find that it's pretty challenging to keep Ice Counters on the field if you're playing someone decent. Lyla laughs at this card, while Ryko, Celestia and other baddies can easily prevent it from being of much use. It wouldn't be banned - maybe semi-limited, and that's pushing it.

 

3) Frost Avatar is a good card - you're mistaking him with broken. The only situation where he could see possible abuse is Cold Witch + Ice Blossom + Card of Safe Return, and that's rarely, considering that CoSR is limited in my CCL League. He's pretty bad for a Level 7 monster, actually - his stats are mediocre, and his effect is a pretty specific cost that can only be used once per turn. This is only strengthened by the fact that he can't place Ice Counters himself. The only redeeming factor he has is his Special Summon potential, which, even then, isn't too great. Not banned.

 

4) Queen of the Frozen Realm is one of the worse cards in this set. A Level 6 weak ATK/DEF monster that has a specific cost that only targets certain cards? Apart from being unable to place Ice Counters on her own, she can only target face-down cards. Now, apart from monsters (which generally aren't played face-down this format), she has almost no targets. Most Spells and Traps can be chained and activated, making them face-up and preventing their destruction. Not even close to being banned.

 

5) Frozen Chimera isn't ban-worthy, either. Running more than two in a Deck is suicide, really, since you can only control one at a time. His mediocre stats for a Level 7 monster, along with the fact that he can't place any Ice Counters, make him a pretty weak threat. He's not even tough enough to take out common cards like Stardust Dragon, even, and Thought Ruler Archfiend laughs at him. Not ban-worthy.

 

6) Cold Witch is the only one that should see some kind of limitation, or even possibly, banning, because of the chances of her infinite combo with Ice Blossom.

 

That's pretty brief stuff, but I hope you get what I mean.

Well, i see u don't think that Breaker, The Magical Warrior is broken card ( that is why it was banned for some time), and most of your cards act JUST LIKE HIM, but they destroy other stuff ( and even stronger), so i know what i am talking about....i am in YGO for a long time, and only few people that duel me, manage to win against me..for example i haved with 1 deck, 60-0 (win-lose), so i think i am good duelist enough to know what i am talking about :)

How is running 2 Frozen Chimera suicide...o.o; U ever heard for Baboon?? And this one is Special Summoned from Graveyard without cost..i would run 3, to get him faster in gy, and because opponent can rfg him with D.D. Crow....if i don't need him in hand, i discard him for cost of other cards....:)

Frost Avatar is like Guardian of Light, with easier condition of Special Summoning, and ability to negate opponents card effects....if u don't see why something like that is broken, then meh...

Frozen Blessing - i stay with what i told....so, any Continuous Spell is bad?? Yeah, that is why lot of them are limited ( CoSR, Gravity Bind, Level Limit Area B etc..)

Queen of the Frozen Realm targets specific cards? It targets face-down, that means, clear opponents stall and back row...but i guess that one is not so good, i don't have time now to check out what is effect of that card again <<

Breaker is pretty powerful, yes, but only because his ATK stays high, he can clear out any Spell or Trap Card, and he's a Dark monster.

Sorry, but just because you can win doesn't mean you're a good Duelist. =/ You could be Dueling the same bunch of posers who don't know how to play again and again... Not that you are, of course, I'm just pointing out that this isn't a good enough reason.

Running more than 2 Chimera is pretty bad, simply because this Deck doesn't run enough discard costs, barring Frostbite Magician. In Beast Decks, it's pretty easy to get Green Baboon into the Graveyard. And anyways, Green Baboon recently got a rulings change that hurts him a lot. =/

How is he like Guardian of Light? o.o GOF requires you have to two attribute-specific monsters and can only be summoned during your turn. Frost Avatar requires you to remove Ice Counters via effects, so unless you have a card that can remove Ice Counters for costs, you're screwed.

No, not all Continuous Spells are bad - CoSR is limited because of the ridiculous amount of Special Summoning Zombie Decks can do, which really isn't the case here, barring Cold Witch. Frozen Blessing really isn't that broken, since you don't want to keep Ice Counters on the field for too long - you'll be busy removing them for effects.

Anyone who runs stall this format is bad. D:

How u mean : " This deck doesn't run enough discard cost"......i would use other cards from TCG that do o.o...u think i would place all this cards in my deck?? Look at any theme in TCG, and u will notice it is combined with other cards, to raise its power to maximum...

And i don't wanna even comment other stuff because we are going in circle...<<

Cold Witch is broken. At the least, it needs a once per turn limit and that's still pushing it.

 

Shimmering Dragon is broken. With 3 Ice Counters it becomes a Level 4 4200 ATK monster.

 

Queen of the Frozen Realm is overpowered. It needs a once per turn limit or make it harder to summon than a Level 5 monster.

 

Frozen Blessing is overpowered, since it's not hard to keep an Ice Counter on the field.

 

Cold Blur should be a Trap Card. Although not terribly problematic on its own, 3xUpstart Goblins already exist. People would run that card just because it's a deck thinner. If it was a Trap Card, not so much, but it would still benefit ice decks.

 

Sorry, Double Counter is broken, moreso with Tempest Magician/Royal Magical Library and cloudians than just ice counters.

Cold Witch is broken - we agreed that. In fact, she's probably gonna be banned in my CCL League.

 

Shimmering Dragon is just a fatty monster - there's nothing wrong with that. Overextend + Threatening Roar, much?

 

Queen of the Frozen Realm is terrible - she's Level 6, and has mediocre stats. She only targets face-down cards, leaving her with only unchainable S/Ts.

 

Cold Blur is a +0. I agree that it needs some kind of requirement.

 

Double Counter is terribly impractical.
