Structure Deck Chess World. The Pics Need Work, But the Cards Are Awesome!!!

i know what you all are thinking. "yay! legendhiro made more cards! it's about time." ^__^

 

anyway, here are my new cards. some are reprints, since this is a structure deck, so only judge me on the ones that are mine (duh).

 

all images are from photobucket found by searching "chess" or "chess pieces".

 

all images will be colored and made all around better as soon as i can find my photoshop and load it onto my new computer.

 

 

Now, Without Further Ado, Introducing Structure Deck Chess World!!!

 

 

 

-Monsters:

[spoiler=Effect] This monster can only be Special Summoned when five "Chess" Monsters with different names are in your Graveyard. You can remove those five monsters in your Graveyard from play to add one copy of "Chess World" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand (if taken from your deck, shuffle your deck afterward). While "Chess World" is face-up on the field, when this monster is targeted for the effect of an opponent's Spell, Trap, or Monster card, you can remove two "Chess" Monsters in your Graveyard from play and lower this monster's ATK by 300 to negate that effect and destroy the card.

lol! yeah, i kinda got the idea from that. i didn't just want to call it "chess board" or something. and plus all the newer structure decks seem to be based on fields anymore, right? ^__^

I scrolled down, saw the Anime version of Card of Sanctity followed by a few of the game's most broken spells, and facepalmed.

yeah, but those broken spells work here in new ways. and as for card of sanctity, i think the card game version is the greatest anime to card game atrocity of all time, hands down. all of my friends play using the anime effect.

The anime effect is stupidly broken.

 

Also, Pot of Greed and company are stupidly broken no matter how clever you've convinced yourself your "new ways" of using them are.

thanks for your opinion. anything like a rate on the build of the deck or the deck in general besides disagreeing with the choice of support? even you have to admit that pot of greed is crap if there is nothing good in the deck to draw with it.

It's an interesting concept, I'll admit - but that whole Monster Column limit really hampers these cards. Who knows... I might make a Chess Set of my own...

it does, which is why you need the field card. it means you have to literally move your cards into position, like in a real game of chess.

You did know that there already is a Chess set in the real game, The Archfiends, and that it has been done by alot of other members. My favorite one is the one of God Kaze who used the moving of chess pieces in a different way than you do. But you are the first I see making a Chess Structure deck I like the idea.

 

To get back to your Structure deck, Why are there just a few created cards? And why not instead of Pot of Greed a Chess draw card? Even if it was a Chess version of Destiny draw just to summon Chess King.

 

8/10 for the Created cards but 3/10 for the Structure deck just for the missing of more created cards and the use of the Banned cards.

this is more of a preliminary version. once i have access to finished images this will probably become more of a set and the theme will be expanded. i just put the deck together to show some of the combos that i'd come up with for the created cards so far, putting them in context.

 

and just because the archfiends share names with chess pieces doesn't mean they are really "Chess Monsters". they are fun to play with and require extensive strategy to use properly, but they really don't have much to do with chess.

 

this is also gonna be the possible deck for a character i submitted for a fic, which is why i put in banned cards. any non-banned "equivalent" could be used in place of ant of the banned cards and it would work just as well.
