Luna Lovegood
Well, Smoking has been proved to be bad for health. So we should get rid of it. But making it illegal would do nothing to control it, it would merely ruin more peoples lives. So how?
ragnarok1945
as of now, all you can do is suppress it by increasing costs and all

ragnarok1945
well then plant a mole in the cigarette company. Plant far more nicotine into the cigarettes than they have already

ragnarok1945
right, we'll need many groups Remember, if you inject all the nicotine from 1 cigarette into a person, that's instant death. But because you smoke it, most of it doesn't enter you in such a way and therefore you only get addicted
~Shore
my idea- sales of cigarettes limited to current smokers only. This would give tobacco companies time to shut down peacefully and stop smoking adults from being anger. Cigarettes would have to be ordered, not sold in stores, to prevent temptation/theft in young people of course, that is a bit radical and controlling, not necessarily the best idea. What if they give some cigarettes to a non-smoker and asked him to try it? How very true, ragnarok. Besides, the ones telling a non-smoker to try it would probably be a person who works for the smoking company. In fact, if the conditions set by ZenQued were made, then the smoking company would probably have a few of their workers sell cigarettes illegally, either singles or packs, like how people sell illegal marijuana or other illegal drugs. Then the situation would pretty much be the same situation as before, but now illegal. Plus, how would you know if someone was a "current smoker" or not? I'm not sure if there is any really effective way to stop smoking. That's my view on the subject. Please tell me if it has any major flaws in it. Well you COULD try smelling their breath for smoke smell, but then again some smokers have the ability to hide if very effectively (even if they just finished a cigarette 5 min ago)
Christian Exodia
Make smoking illegal, or take out all pot, cigarettes, & others things that are bad or can make you high(Steriods & Pain Killers stay, Pain Killers espically, that's the only way for us to not have boring wrestling invovling robots, which that sucks)

ragnarok1945
That's only slowing it down. If this tax rise continues it may just lead to buying cigarettes illegally (since it might be cheaper)

Luna Lovegood
wait, that isn't happening right now? I mean, tax is already almost extortion, and people want these so much. But most people would still buy them the legal way.

Desperate times call for desperate measures you know (remember the gas price explosion that rose it to nearly $5 per gallon? Look what people resorted to then). ragnarok1945
yeah well Americans aren't used to this kind of price. Anyways back on the cigarette topic, it'll be the same. Once you're not used to a price for too long and it just keep climbing nonstop, some people will quit, but others simply become more desperate
