PrometheusMFD
f*** you. Smoking doesn't hurt anyone. Second hand smoke is a myth. Smoking around infants; yes it's bad. Smoking around adolescents and adults won't hurt them. Prove me wrong. You REALLY think inhaling the smoke a smoker exhales at an older age is harmless? Why would it be?Because your lungs are fully developed at about age 10-13The amount of "secondhand smoke" that you inhale is diluted by the air and dissipates through something called osmosis. I know (this is totally serious): We take all the people who smoke' date=' but won't stop, and put them on an island. We butcher up all the tabacco industries. We destroy all cigarettes.[/quote'] Your username certainly is accurateAnd capturing and transporting all those people would cost too much moneykilling an industry that has thousands of jobs does worse for people than cigarettes do (can you say looting?)It is physically impossible to find and destroy every cigarrette in the world. There are billions trillions of cigarettes in the world I say let people do what they want concerning this subject
Metal Lord
My dad and uncle are smokers, and I don't give a damn. My great uncle died at 93 from a non-smoking related 'incident' and he was apparently a heavy smoker. He even had big cigar's around the house. In my opinion, if someone wants to smoke, let them

Metal Lord
Well, if you take away smoking, you're basically taking away someone's basic rights and freedoms. Now that sounds like Hitler's idea of peace

Now that sounds like Hitler's idea of peace[/quote'] A lot of people still believe their exercise will be able to compensate and negate the effects of tobacco there is only one problem with that, they are wrong. you cant get rid of the effects of tobacco if you excercise, it could actually make it worse that it already is. ragnarok1945
yeah well being active on other matters DOES suppress the effect. For example, if you're so stressed at your work, the constant activity prevents tobacco from being as effective as it should be in harming you
The_Prince_of_Death
only in certain cases. its a 50/50 when it comes to tobacco and exercise. in half the effect worsen the other half the effects lighten. Off topic: I got less than 19 minutes to be on, the library no only lets people add one hour to their cards per day.
ragnarok1945
perhaps, but still. Some people choose to take such a chance. For some, 50% is worth the risk (personally if I was to do it, and that's a VERY big if, it'd have to be at least 99%)
The_Prince_of_Death
If I smoked and chose to exercise to try and lift the effects, I would most likly die because of my costochondritis.
ragnarok1945
true for some people. Others choose to believe their willpower alone can negate tobacco's effect (that is the worst assumption of all)
The_Prince_of_Death
it is possible though. some people have already used will power and it worked but others have tried but they ended up dying.
ragnarok1945
I know, though I don't understand why you'd want to take such a risk. It may be back in the 20s, 30s, and 40s and such when people in Europe smoked all the time and for most they ended up just fine. Even now people today are still not convinced of its harmfulness
The_Prince_of_Death
back then they didnt use that much tar in the cigarettes nor tobacco. today they use alot of it.
ragnarok1945
that I actually didn't know. I thought the tar was relatively the same (just that people's lifestyle was so much different)

Skyfi
Funny story I Was in the car and a Lady was smoking with her window down. I Yelled "Smoking Kills!" to be funny. She just put up her window and continued to smoke. If people don't care about their lives let them smoke :)
