Multimedia Mod Application

I would like to be the mod of the music section. As I am deeply in love with music and can vary in different aspects in music. I have posted my iPod thread there which is most defiantly elaborate.

 

I feel I'm qualified because I am a good member, have never received an unfair negative rep, I'm nice, I've helped administrate a well active forum for a little over a year, I can help clean up spam, I'm nice to mostly all members (except noobs), I know how to run/operate a forum, and I can easily clean up spam on a daily basses. Please choose me ^_^

I'm Uchiha. I want to be a moderator of Multimedia due to all of the post-your-opinion threads to raise post count but no one is moderating the section to enforce the rules. These threads continue to spam because no one wants to really just discuss this. They all want to just say something to raise post count. Its nothing that cannot be helped. Although, I may have not shown actions of moderation worthy in the past, I promise to do so in the future. Rules are lacking in the section, so why not add my name or someone more worthy? I feel if I am chosen to be a moderator, I will feel more important and not some pushover. I want to be a moderator, just like 50,000 or more others who wish the same. I feel I am not taken seriously on the site. Although, I spend time in GFX most, I need to do the same with any other category as I should. I feel this issue of no moderation needs to be handled by me because I hate when the sections of the forum are spammed. I will be active in Multimedia because I have an understanding of the sections. Spam, Harrassment, and many other issues are clogging the site with trash. YCMaker I respect your actions you have taken. Active or not, you made this site and you depend on the Staff to keep the site running. Although, we may not be the best members, some of us at least try. If I am chosen, I will respond to almost all of the unorthodox and unnecessary items of the sections. Even if I am not chosen, I hope someone who you think or know is more qualified for this position. I have been on this site for more than a year now and understand the actions of all members from newbie to kind, and unabusive. I may be only online as a normal member for a short while, my activeness will increase because I will have something important I need to carry out and not just post,post,post, but after a day, if you feel I haven't carried out my moderation responsibilities, you may remove me from the moderation staff. I understand the duties of all moderators, what to do in spam attacks and when hacked I know how to counterattack the problem and remove the hacker from the user list. I have had a year of moderation training, but I left the old website for this one. Some members have no respect for YCM and feel this is a terrible site, unlike me and many others. This is an undisciplined site and I feel many people need to understand this is a site for fun and creative purposes and isn't spam world like some think it is. Being moderator of this site would be like being the king of the Playboy Mansion, without all the nudity. This site is like a drug to me, I could never leave it. YCMaker, I hope my application has influenced you to select me as a moderator and I feel that this is very important for anyone on this site to apply. I really think I am qualified to be a moderator, as I am fluent in this section and I am very eager to see your answer to these applications. I hope I am chosen out of these members because of my long experience in YCM. All of my fellow applicants want to be a moderator as I do, even though they may have mod experience to, I feel I have done my job as a moderator on another forum. This site is like a drug to me and I feel that this is a great deal of responsibility for me and all other YCM. I feel I need to be Moderator because I have what it takes and I feel that I am one of many that feel this site is like a drug, seeing how I cannot leave it. This is most important to me because I have done my job on every other site I have applied to become a moderator on, YCM also seems like a lot bigger to me seeing how I have been on this site longer than I have ever been on a site. Being a part of a site with great importance has changed my life and being a moderator would only increase this change on my life. Seeing how I have made a long application, I have not only proven that my time on YCM is important but also that I have enough time for YCM to spare and I will try to be as active as possible. Even though I don't post much, I still am watching. I am great with people if they aren't being a complete jerk. I am great with Video Games and I beat every one I have. I love Movies & TV because I watch it everyday after school. I love Music because my iPod is all I listen to and I love the RADIO. So I am very active in the sections of Multimedia. If I am only picked for one of the sections, it will still be of great importance. Considering this is a forum and not a spam world, Inwould love to try to change YCM for the better. I have about 5 moderator jobs as of current, many of them supers. i also will acknowledge the fact that i will be under the authority of YCMaker and therefore can only moderate in my area as well as i can. I'm not sure how qualified for the job I would be since I have never moderated a major forum before, but I think that being a mod would be an interesting and valuable experience. I am the mod of the television board on catman25's forum, and I would like to be a movies and tv mod here. I want to be a filmmaker and I also make flash animation, and I run a blog with movie reviews, so I think I have a lot of knowledge on the subject of movies and TV. I also want to make things fun for the members, and I would try to create useful stickies as well as preventing spam, but not being overly harsh.

Wow here we go. I bet this is quite shocking. Star posting in a moderator application thread. Yeah, the same Star that posted a thread all those months ago stating that being a mod isn't all it's cracked up to be. I still believe that's partially true. However, Graphic Design (the section I modded for over a year for those of you that don't know), is far from my strongpoint. I basically felt out of place and undeserving of the job because I didn't really know what I was doing there. Well, this is different. I'm a huge fan of TV, Movies, Video Games, and Music, and I'd feel a lot more comfortable modding one of all of those sections. Now, before anyone brings up the fact that I was previously banned, keep in mind the fact that both Altair and Faint have been banned more than once. Am I saying that I'm more deserving than they are? No. I'm just saying that I'm up for the job. What experience do I have? I modded a forum on YCM very successfully for over year until someone *cough*SushiTheLegend*cough* came in and changed everything around and started claiming that I wasn't doing my job, so I basically gave up. Now, would I like to mod one or all of these sections? Yes. Will I be disappointed if I don't get chosen? Not at all. I'm just letting you guys know that I am in fact up for this position, and I am clearly qualified. Star, out.

Eh well truthfully, I've been wating for a mod spot for a long time now, I have the experience on many forums not a sactive as YCM but I'm used to some of it. If I do become mod of the multimedia or any of the sub cats I don't care which, I would do all that I could with the power I would be givin to ensure its succes. I would show no mercy to rule breakers or any friends or mods. I'm truthfully just a simple boy with a dream. I've had some minor troubles with YCM as being an outsider and well not much cared about, but to me that doesn't matter, no matter what I would carry out my job and that is for sure. I would be more active, the only reason I am inactive is because my part in YCM is done unless I were to recieve a mod spot. I'm not asking to become a mod, just to be given a chance. I would like to apply for a mod position, perferably the Video Game section. I go on YCM around 6 - 8 hours everyday and regularly check there. I would want to be a mod, I am responsible, digilent, and fair. I have mod experience, particularly super mod experience. I am a regular gamer so that section suits me.

I'd first like to point out that I'd only be interested in modding Movies and TV shows, or Music. I play video games, but still don't know hardly anyting about the 'real' games. I know it's not required to know about every title out there, but I'd still rather control something I know about. Wouldn't want the blind leading the blind. In addition, I'm a pretty big Tv nerd.

 

If your asking about experience, I have very little. I've moderated about 22 small forums (14 of which failed/moved, and none of them came anywhere close to 600 members online a day. I know how to enforce rules, however.

 

I don't usually talk down to members (unless the situation demands it), so being a moderator would somewhat change that, and being an authority figure would kind of be a joke to most people, I do try to make people seem better than me quite a bit.

 

As for my acitivity I'm on whenever I can be. Of course, this site isn't my priority unlike some people who would be better candidates for mod, but I'm still on quite a bit, and when I'm on I do help the forum by reporting or negging or whatever I can. I'm also quite sick of my warnings and negs doing nothing. I even pointed out 2 double accounts recently, one of them got out of their ban by claiming that it was his sibling, not him. I'm actually a tuff person, so I take back what a said a few paragraphs ago, I can be an authority figure. I can enforce rules without question.

 

As for my grammar, I don't really care for it. My grammar is readable, and that's all that matters right? If you publicly point out someone using the wrong 'to' or using too many commas, that doesn't make you a better choice for mod, it just makes you a jerk. I use good grammar, but I don't overdue it is what I'm trying to say.

 

I've been a member since 2007, I don't know if that makes any difference but I said it anyway.

I don't know what else I can say. I have somewhat of a curse, really. Whenever I befriend somebody, they become moderators. Browarod, Bloodrun, Yankee. All some of my best friends on the forum. (useless pieces of information FTW)

 

In end, would I be a good choice for mod? Yes.

Would I do a good job? Yes

Are there better people for selection? Maybe.

I would like to be a Mod for many part in the Multimedia section. I mean the Video Games part of it.

 

I would be a good moderator for a part in the Multimedia section because I am trustworthy and you can count on me. I think I would be a good moderator becasue I know a lot about games and I also know a lot of games. If there is spam in a thread there I would take care of it as fast as I could. I am also an active member so I could keep watch of the section when I'm online which is like 7 hours a day maybe. When I get online and get back online I would check the Video Games and see if there was spam or a lot of swearing that isn't needed. I would give out warnings to those people who didn't follow the rules and so forth. Thats why I think I would be a great moderator for the Video Games section.

Hello, I'm CamosityDude. If possible, I would like to apply for the Music. The reasons are simple. For one, music is my life. I listen to it 52.9% of my time. I'm hard on noobs and rule breakers, but don't threaten to tell a mod to ban them. I give people warnings. If I became a mod, I'd give each user 3 chances. If they broke a big rule 3 times, they'd get banned. I'm 4 stars, not exactly 5. My post count isn't dramatic, but I believe I am qualified for the position. Well, I guess I can give this a shot.

 

As you probably would have guessed, I am Meti, I would like to apply for the sub-section, "Music." Reason being that I know alot about music, how to play music, what the different types of instruments are, and I have played in 15 concerts in my life. I am mainly a persussionist so I am able to help anyone with counting beats and maybe even playing them if I am given the ability to.

 

I also happen to be very fond of piano literature, and I am also in progress of rightng a piano trio-ed song by use of Finale Notepad 2008.

 

If I am chosen moderator, then I will find as much time as I can to help moderate the sub-section. Which to many of you, would mean that I can give both my new girlfriend and this site my own free time. If I am not, then I would understand and I would move on and have a wonderful life with my girlfriend, Kat.

I would like to be a multimedia moderator for the entire section, but if I cannot I would like to specifically moderate the TV and movies forum. My only goal through this is not for the title or for the power and authority, but to help out the forum and make it my responsability to make it clean and operate perfectly.

 

I have moderating expirience. I am fairly active and if I had the responsibility of being a moderator I would be almost twice as active as I am now. I have been a member here for over a year now and I think that I am fairly well known. I believe that many respect me and trust my opinions and decisions. I've been on this forum and seen the best and the worst of it, but that hasn't changed me. I have always been here and always will be. I would enforce the rules in my section to the best of my ability. I will not let friendship or a personal fondness for a specific member get the better of me and will treat them as if I would any other member. As you can see through my posts, I have fun with the members but if my rules are broken, I do not hesitate to give out punishments.

 

I know alot about movies, both current and older movies. I have my own movie review thread, that gets updated at once a week. I go to the movies frequently and am a critic. I am also an amature filmmaker in my own right. I listen to a large variety of music and I play videogames frequently as well. I own nearly every game system in the market and have played most good videogames out so far. Out of all three catagories, TV and Movies would be the best choice for me, seeing as that is my best area.

 

I am completely aware of any time that I have spammed or flamed another member, but believe me that doesn't happen often. Make it be known that I do, on occasion, have the tendency to take my real world frustrations out on others online. That would be the time when I would be my strictest and most eager to punish individuals who break the rules.

 

I honestly believe that I am up for the responsability of being a moderator and maybe some of the mods and members would too.

Allow me to lay down an alternative idea I came up with. Basically, it would include me getting moved to Multimedia, preferably the Music and/or Movies sub-board, and getting someone else for the General forums.

To keep it short, I enjoy moderating General, but in all honesty, it is the section I least expected to get put in. The initial question was not about becoming a moderator, but more precisely whether I would like to moderate General, at a time when discussions about a possible Multimedia forum were quite far and few. With the new additions and several topics being moved there, it took me a few leaps, but I came to the conclusion that I would see myself moderating a music or movies-related forum rather than the General section, simply due to personal interests. In other words, I bare more interest into the multimedia world than trolls and flame topics in a section I feel less “at home” – lack of a better term – at this point and would probably do a better job there.

 

 

Qualifications

As for qualifications, I’m mostly going to refer to the feedback I got.

The Music and Movies sections need someone with a vast knowledge about the treated subjects, maturity and a helping hand. I think I would be a good choice for these forums. I have a large amount of patience, I’m friendly and willing to help anyone who needs it.

In addition, I have a very versatile mindset. I have enough time on my hands to joke around and answer to spam PM’s, and at the same time enough maturity to take, if required, purely rational decisions and to draw a line when needed.

As for activity, I try to log in as soon as I can. At this point, I have spent 1 Month, 4 Days, 15 Hours, 40 Minutes on the site, often at times when other moderators were not online. Regarding my post count, I simply rely on quality before quantity. Most of the time, I just don’t know what to talk about or don’t feel like repeating something mentioned before.

Out of the Multimedia forums, it would not be a problem to handle various sections like in General, but to be honest, I don’t know the first thing about video games. I believe I could do a better job in Music and Movies, both subjects I’m greatly interested in.

That being said, I have no intention to leave the General forum unoccupied. If my idea leads anywhere, I will leave the place for someone else, since at this point, I don’t feel able to cover everything under the same hat. So it would be either General or Music and/or Movies.

To make sure that if this happens, the General section is left in good hands, I started looking for a secure replacement. Hopefully, it will go to the member I suggested previously as a second General moderator or one of the other candidates I mentioned, but in the end it’s not up to me to decide so I’m just going to trust into what is awaiting us.

 

To make things clear, even though I would consider myself as a Music or Movies person rather than General, staying here would not make me any less content. This is really an alternative option and if it cannot be done, I will just resume my work and try to pour whatever there is still left out of the General section.

You went on a banning spree once, you gave me a warning for posting a thread that I didn't know was against the rules, and I still have the stupid thing, and you think that being a moderator makes you superior to everyone else.
