Democracy and communism were meant to go hand-in-hand' date=' really.

Democracy is equal distribution of expression, communism is equal distribution of property.

Yah, but those 2 beliefs have been well-known opposites. But the Chinese Nationalist Dr Sun Yat-sen believes that democracy & communism to bring peace & power to China...something that is happening in a way nowadays...(especially with the democratic HK & Macau)

well this will make you made UCA... UCA... just kidding man America has fallen so much.

What's the UCA???

ya i know i wish the confederates won...

i did and well that explanes a lot.

If Confederates win the CivilWar' date=' America will just be a racist state. Thus, it will not help the Allies in WWII & then Axis Powers will conquer the whole landmass.

A democracy is a form of government. Communism is a form of economy. They're DIFFERENT!!!

Communism is a form of government that controls the distribution of wealth & property.

Democracy is a form of government that calls for the people to make their own opinions of affairs of state.

Blame Deng and his pragmatism. If it weren't for him' date=' the Communists would be pil'd high atop each other, as the enraged masses light them afire into smolderin' heaps of ungraspable warmth hahahaha!

LOL.

Are you kidding?

Deng Xiao Ping is what made China's economy rise.

Yup, if not for Deng, China would still be mired in its Communist values...

The current government of China could be described better if something like "reformed Communism" or "Chinese value-based Socialism"

In a communist state' date=' the government and the economy are the same thing.

Not to mention initiated the Great Leap Backward and the Cultural Stagnation.

(Me when I feel like throwin' Molotovs.)

But now' date=' it has the world's 3rd highest GDP in the world.

[/quote']

And we all know why their GDP is that much:

They export a lot, this is because they keep their labor cheap. They don't have laws for the workforce and quality of work space, there is no minimum wage.

But, by trading with them, we can foster these changes within their state.

In reality I would say that they're going to be sewing soccer-balls with their teeth whether we sell them cheeseburgers or not, so lets sell them cheeseburgers.

That my answer about the importance of trade with China.

Democracy > Communism, as has been proven many times throughout history.

With democracy, at least half the people in the nation have to make the wrong choice for the thing to fail. With communism (true communism, not socialism, which is far superior), about twenty people do. Plus, power corrupts, and if your word is law, then you're much more likely to make the wrong choice.

Actually, that has never once been proven, because there has never once been a Communist state in history.

Marxism, the theory from which Communism is derived, as a multi-step process.

Step 1: The government controls all aspects of the economy and many aspects of social life, etc. in an attempt to habilitate the citizens towards working together for the greater good.

Step 2: The government dissolves. We are now looking at an extremely organized and prosperous form of social anarchy in which all members of society contribute and are supported by all other members of the society. This state of existence is known as a Communist state. (As in, Community living. Everything is based off of helping the community of your own volition.) Unfortunately, as Tea pointed out, this rather enlightened form of self-government must inevitably collapse due to Sectionalism and Stratification.

Stage 2 of the theory of Marxism, or Communism, has never had a chance to exist. This is unfortunately because the government, when given absolute power over the country's economy, etc. almost always becomes corrupted. If you were the head of one of the most powerful nations in the world, with nearly absolute control over many aspects of it, would you be eager to dissolve your government and become just another citizen?

You do realize that you just proved the initial point you were trying to prove wrong, right?

What I find interesting is how people keep saying America shows why Democracy fails when America is a REPUBLIC!!!!!

The founding fathers feared the people, they gave them the vote, but they gave the electoral college the power. The split up the government because they didn't trust a cohesive group to maintain balance.

That is also why they created political parties, dissent and disagreement is the basis of the American political model. By creating partisan politics, elite groups that maintain control are unlikely, becuase the nation is so divided. And subject to changing beliefs.

This is stronger than the coalitions you see in Britain, where all political parties are too small.

America realized that you needed to have just the right balance of power, with neither the politicians or the people holding too much.
