OMGAKITTY
This thread is pretty silly, because I've just remembered the average age group of the members...Pretty much most of you are just spewing up what you heard your parents saying. Sorry. I don't think that the age group is old enough to fully create their own opinions. At 13-15, you still pretty much go with what your parents views of politics are. I know that I, at least, when I was that age, did not know enough, or care enough, to form a definite opinion outside of what I heard my parents saying. It would explain why there seems to be so many republicans hanging around. "If you're a republican under 25, you have no heart. If you're a democrat over 25, you have no brain"Don't remember who said that though.

Tefached
It was great. though the media is wrong he's not the first black pres. He's the first half black/white pres. i don't remember the technical word...Yes....there is a difference.and it is a step further past racism...maybe in a few more elections we might actually get a full black pres. More importantly the one old black dude either before or after Obama swore in could rhyme! When the brown man can chill manwhen the black man can hang around manwhen the yellow fellow can be mellowwhen the red man is alright manwhen the white man has it right man. Dr. Seuss is pleased. sleevecard
I think it was kind of annoying that people kept going on about how MLK's dream was being fulfilled. I'm sure he wouldn't care what the skin color was as long as they actually fought for equality. Also I think Obama isn't right for the job. He wants to increase gas taxes to lower gas prices thats not even logical in any way. I know that dollar is just an example of gold' date=' moreso of an "IOU", but the people with the money [gold'] have all of the money. The government has the gold, but they owe all the gold to the citizens. Which is why they collect taxes. I think. =\The government stopped matching money with gold in the 20s and 30s. The gold they have is a backing for the money, and for foreign monetary trades. They collect taxes in order to pay for the goverments programs, but instead we have to take loans out from other countries because we take in only enough to pay of the interest on those loans and a little more. No where near enough to run all the programs Obama wants to start.

sleevecard
Where I live over 400 people are now homeless due to a bill he started and got passed in Congress, it's sad. Then you realize he's about to run the whole country and suddenly Bush doesn't look as bad. Bad, but not so much as before.
Tefached
you understand congress makes the laws...he passes it. ok that was until the patriot act was passed and bush bypassed the whole bill of rights..
sleevecard
Yes I mean as a Congressmen he did it. Bush vetoed and he used the Democratic majority to help him get the nessicary 2/3 vote to overide.
