Like things with similar colors, textures, or styles. Make sure that you do not enlarge anything too much or it'll end up pixely like your background.Similarly, if you shrink something you may have to sharpen it because the quality will drop very slightly Don't worry about making lines until you learn how to do pentooling. There are some good tutorials on Deviantart Text you really shouldn't worry about until you've really gotten the hang of the rest of the work. By then you'll have picked up how to place it in the right spot and make it fit in.
