Psycho Shocker Android
Crush card virus and trap dustshoot are 2 of the best cards in the game right now. Also, everybody focuses on OTKing their opponent and this requires a good amount of cards. Gorz is also an important power card. So why isn't there more decks focusing on hand control/disruption. CrabHelmet
Because Don Zaloog doesn't come with a built-in Special Summon and field nuke. Outside of Dustshoot and the Viruses, most hand control has some annoying downsides. For example, Mind Crush and D.D. Designator both require knowledge of the opponent's hand, Don Zaloog's 1400 ATK doesn't let him run over anything in this format, and Thestalos just isn't enough. It's generally easier to just get a quick win than to slow down your opponent's quick win enough for you to snag a slow win.

~ P O L A R I S ~
There aren't enough Hand Control cards to make a good enough Hand Control Deck. CCV and Dustshoot are the best Hand Control cards, and many Decks just plop them in, other than them though Hand Control just has stuff like Hand Destruction, Card Destruction, Morphing Jar, DWD, that sort of thing, and those just help the opponent by filling up their Grave. Grave effects are bigger than ever, so a Deck completely based on Hand Control has little to no chance.
SephirothKirby
You'd have to make a Hand Control Archetype for good hand control cards, 'though, because otherwise they could be splashed into anything.

The Crimson King
Hand control isn't as viable anymore because the top tier decks rely on some of their cards being sent to the graveyard in order to summon their boss monsters. If a deck was made that removed the cards you send from your opponent's deck/hand to the removed from play zone(Macro Control anyone?), then hand control would have more power in the current format. But since Macro decks are stopped by a single card(Imp. Iron Wall), Macro Control is not made possible, so hand control decks do not work well. werewolfjedi
even decent hand control monsters, like dark red enchanter, only start with, at best, 2300 ATK for 1 tribute. with the monarchs at 2400, he can't compare on the battle front. now, just to ask, should lockdown be considered as any type of hand control?
