Username System is broken.

This so called 'system' has a large number of loopholes.

Loophole 1: "Anytime after receiving a name change you can choose to Revert to your most recent previous username. Getting a Revert resets the 3-month period before your next name change."

This means if you chose a revert then a new name, you do not have to wait, meaning the system has just been broken. How about a 2-Week wait after the revert?

 

Loophole 2:"You must be a member for at least 4 months before requesting your first name change.

After a name change, you must wait 3 months before you can receive another change."

So, you have to be a member 7 months to get a second name change. That's almost a year! This also can be redirected.(see Loophole 1) A one star n00b may get a name change if permitted, meaning that

after 7 months, you can still be a n00b, one star member and still get a name change. You could get a name that insults a member.

Why not have a 3 Star name change minimum?

No, it resets, meaning it takes back the months.

No it doesn't. Say "Bob" gets his name changed on 1-1-2009, then decides to revert on 1-3-2009. He has to wait until 4-3-2009 to change his name again. Basically, the revert is like another name change. After a revert, you have to wait three months before you can change your name again. The 3-month waiting period begins on the day you get the revert.

Why on earth shouldn't a member need to wait seven months before getting their second name change? To call it "almost a year" is ludicrous.

 

Members who have so few posts that they only have one star generally don't come back to the site seven months later to get a second name change. And even if they do, why on earth should this be a problem?

 

As for getting a name that insults a member: use your bloody head. Just as newly-registered accounts with names like NUCLEUM_IS_DUMB would be banned, attempting to change one's name to something like NUCLEUM_IS_DUMB would not be allowed. Do you think that the people behind the name change button are retards who just act entirely mechanically without even reading what they're typing? Sounds like generalization from self.

3. You don't know what your new username will be.

4. You don't want to think during your waiting period with your new, stupid username.

 

In end, you want to go back to your old username, then change it when your allowed, but your mad cause reverts reset your waiting time.

By reseting the 3 month waiting period, it means, you know what, heres an example that should suit your needs:

 

Name Chane:

(2 months after your name change)

Revert:

(Your time is restarted, so you now have to do a full 3 months before you can change your name again)

 

Anyway, why are you complaining?
