Speed World38618ys5.jpg

The contest is to either make a Speed Spell to go along with Speed World, or create another card that interacts with Speed World in some way. For those who have never seen 5d's, Speed World is always active for both players during a Riding Duel, and it cannot be removed from the field.

An example of a Speed Spell:

Speed Spells all begin with "Speed Spell - " and thus far have all been Normal Spell Cards (but nothing suggests that they have to be normal).

I will give prizes as follows:

1st- 3 reps

2nd- 2 reps

3rd- 1 rep

There is no entry fee. Contestants are limited to 1 card each. The last day for posting will be February 12th, and I will grade on the 13th using the following scale:

Originality: 25

Balance: 25

OCG: 20

Pic: 15

Personal opinion: 15

Results:
Originality: 25/25

Balance: 25/25

OCG: 19/20 (Should be "Monster Card" or more preferably just "monster")

Pic: 13/15 (-2 for no image credit)

Personal Opinion: 15/15
Originality: 20/25 (I normally don't like list effects but I like the concept behind this one.)

Balance: 25/25
This card's effect changes depending on the difference in the number of Speed Counters on a "Speed World" you control and a "Speed World" your opponent controls: • 2 or fewer: When you use the effect of "Speed World" to place a Speed Counter on it, place an additional Speed Counter on "Speed World". • 3-6: While this card is face-up, your opponent cannot place a Speed Counter on "Speed World" by the effect of "Speed World" during the Standby Phase. • 7-10: When your opponent would place a Speed Counter on "Speed World" by the effect of "Speed World", remove a Speed Counter instead. • 11 or 12: Remove all Speed Counters from a "Speed World" you control and select 1 face-down card your opponent controls. If that card is a Trap Card, destroy it and inflict damage to your opponent equal to 100 x the number of Speed Counters you removed, then your opponent gains 4 Speed Counters. If that card is a Spell Card, return it to its owner's hand, and you gain Life Points equal to 100 x the number of Speed Counters you removed, then your opponent gains 6 Speed Counters. If that card is a Monster Card, remove that card from play and your opponent gains Speed Counters equal to the monster's Level + 4.

The last effect also needs to be adjusted a bit. For example, what if you had 1 Speed Counter and your opponent had 12? Either make it so it only works if yours are higher or reword this last bit.

Personal opinion: 15/15 (I like this card a lot.)
Originality: 17/25

Balance: 25/25

OCG: 20/20

Pic: 15/15

Personal opinion: 12/15 (Its effect is quite simple, but it is effective. I really like the pic and the OCG is flawless.)
Originality: 18/25

Balance: 25/25
Speed Spell - Increase

You can only activate this card when you have 10 "Speed Counters". By removing 10 "Speed Counters" you [b[can destroy 3 face-up cards on the field. During the End Phase of the turn this card was activated, inflict 500 points of damage to either player's Life Points.
Originality: 15/25

Balance: 18/25

OCG: 25/25

Pic: 8/15 (It's not bad, but I don't see the correspondance to the name)

Personal opinion: 8/15
Originality: 15/25

Balance: 20/25
YOu can only activate this card when you have 7 or more Speed Counters. You can only equip this card to a monster with 0 ATK. The equipped monster's ATK becomes 3000. During your next Main Phase, remove the equipped monster from play.

Other notes: Does it count Main Phase 2? Does it activate at the beginning of the Main Phase?

Pic: 10/15 (-2 for no image credit, no I don't count the writing made by the artist as credit.)

Personal Opinion: 7.5/15 (Don't really like it.)
Originality: 15/25 (I don't really like list effects.)

Balance: 10/25 (I find this overpowered)

OCG: 17/20 (The only issue is the 4th effect. Does that only apply if this card is activated during the Damage Step? Also, "At the 2nd End phase" is worded wrong.)

Pic: 10/15 (Sorry, don't like it. It's too 3d and no background.

Personal opinion: 7.5/15

[spoiler=8. blinded warrior 59/100

Originality: 12.5/25 (I don't like the name, the name here should represent a way to create the Synchro Monster, since it doesn't actually "exist" until it is created. It's not too original either, to me.)

Balance: 12.5/25 (Even in a riding duel, this seems overpowered.)
You can only activate this card when you have 8 or more Speed Counters. Special Summon 1 Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck, and equip it with this card. The equipped monster's effect cannot be activated while this card remains face-up on the field.
Originality: 15/25

Balance: 10/25

OCG: 5/20 (Not gonna bother correcting it..)

Personal Opinion: 10/15
Originality: 10/25

Balance: 5/25

OCG: 12.5/25 (Speed Counter does not have quotes. Also, when during each turn do players lose a counter?

Pic: 3/15 (Stretched, -2 for no image credit)

Personal opinion: 5/15

Total: 37.5/100
142224uo8.jpg
You can only activate this card when you have 5 or more Speed Counters. Return all Spell and Trap Cards on the field, except Field Spell Cards, to their owner's hand. Then you can remove up to 5 Speed Counters on your field. Select and activate 1 of the following effects, based on the number of Speed Counters removed: 1: Your opponent discards 1 random card from his/her hand to the Graveyard. 2: Draw 2 cards from your Deck. Skip your next Draw Phase. 3: Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand to your field. 4: Increase the ATK of 1 face-up monster you control by 1000 during the Damage Step only. At the 2nd End Phase, remove that monster from play. 5: Decrease your opponent's Life Points by 1000. This card is removed from play after activation.

Well, here's my try.

Card:

Effect:

This card's effect changes depending on the difference in the number of Speed Counters on a "Speed World" you control and a "Speed World" your opponent controls: • 2 or fewer: When you use the effect of "Speed World" to place a Speed Counter on it, place an additional Speed Counter on "Speed World". • 3-6: While this card is face-up, your opponent cannot place a Speed Counter on "Speed World" by the effect of "Speed World" during the Standby Phase. • 7-10: When your opponent could place a Speed Counter on "Speed World" by the effect of "Speed World", remove a Speed Counter instead. • 11 or 12: Remove all Speed Counters from a "Speed World" you control and select 1 face-down card your opponent controls. If that card is a Spell Card, return it to its owner's hand, and you gain Life Points equal to 100 x the number of Speed Counters you removed, then your opponent gains 6 Speed Counters. If that card is a Monster card, remove that card from play and your opponent gains Speed Counters equal to 4 + that Monster's Level.
