raelen finished the discussion. Period. Times Infinity. Another Period.

Thread can be locked now.

You fail for not having the mental capacity to discuss something deeply philosophical.

Raelen, you're trying to look smart but it's not working.

Tsk, tsk...

How so? Am I not smart for stating the truth?

Please explain to my feeble intellect.

Because stating the obvious is "lolpostcount". Look at it from a wider angle and use your common sense.

Its not truth.

Thats why.

Please, prove me that the soul does exist.

Prove me the eternal life is true.

Then you'll win this thread.

So basically this is about the existence of soul?

I'm inclined towards the existence of a conscience rather than a soul per se, and I expect that conscience to be preserved or transformed after I die, not just fade. Naturally, that stems from a) my religious beliefs to a small extent, and most of all b) my complete inability to perceive the concept of nothingness.

Considering nobody can prove souls exist, and nobody can prove that they do not, I expect this thread to invariably end up in religious discussion. Hopefully I'm wrong. ;)

You forgot to say your soul resides in a place of greatness after death (little something to look forward to in the afterlife)

"A place of greatness"? Lol. ^_^

It's called heaven, neñor.

Okay, so maybe I don't win. It's my viewpoint anyway.

my complete inability to perceive the concept of nothingness.

That is something I spent a lot of time thinking about. I always wonder about what happens when you die and weather or not a soul exist. Does your energy just decompose and move on with your conciousness shut down for ever. It's the logical thing but it doesn't feel right at all.

Also it's purely the fact I can't really get to comprehend the meaning or moreover the feeling of being dead.

Yeah, I know. Still, it's how I see the world and all that happens.

All I'm saying is that some people prefer to see heaven and hell far too extreme' date=' that's why they choose ONLY the afterlife, where there's a balance of good and bad that still awaits you

[/quote']

Definitely, it's more comforting. Plus, it gives people an excuse to be bad and do bad things.

Well it's not like we've lived a life of doing 100% good things when we die, you know.

So obviously for some people, why should the afterlife be 100% good or 100% bad?
