Killey
Guarantee you, you play this in defense position on duel 1, turn 1 and your GB player is going to attempt to run it over. The only time this is going to change is when this card sees abundant play in the metagame. As it stands right now most GB players aren't going to be expecting this right away. The argument that the FD could be Ryko is poor argument as well. Maybe if they had War Chariot in their hand at the time they would play the safe route but leaving a FD ryko doesn't improve your situation. It's going to get flipped next turn and your going to lose a card unless you have Solemn or War Chariot to protect you. But now we have to look at when either of these cards get played. Are we looking at this in the standpoint in the mid-to-late game of a duel or are we looking at this from the standpoint at the beginning of the duel. Beginning of a duel this is a pretty good opening move depending on your hand. Mid-to-late game it becomes more situational and yes I can see where setting this card is not the best play but at that point it's irrelevant. You shouldn't be turning to this card for lockdown options mid-to-late game because if your opponent has the advantage at that point in the duel then this card isn't going to help you too much. With teleDAD maining/siding a copy of Royal Oppression they have better outs to GB's control then this card. If you have the advantage then this card becomes something you hold onto for later use. Though you could set it regardless and try to psyche your opponent into thinking you made a misplay by setting a monster and have them go for a desperate attempt to tag out only to run into this guy. Master Hyperion
Oh snap, just noticed it has 2000 DEF. So it will survive most of GB's attacks. I take back what I said. This card is actually pretty awesome. And being a Level 4 Warrior makes it even more awesome.

Killey
That's really not just applicable to control based decks. All decks work towards getting their key strategies and combos off and the faster they do it the better.
