You've been around YCM long enough to know better. Valentine's is pretty much another forgettable commercial holiday. Perhaps if it was celebrated differently I might have actually cared. But even when I was with my girlfriend, we did our best to treat Valentine's Day as any other day - it wasn't exactly a special occasion for us anyway, our anniversary was in November, and that was the only date worth celebrating. If only because it was our day, not every single pseudo-love-bird's day. A day for celebrating love deserves the same attention as one for celebrating cauliflowers - we already know it exists, no need for a 24-hour reminder every year. Besides, most of what happens on that day is enforced by the overall mood of the population. "Hey, we're supposed to be in love today; you, come here, let's be in love."
