First Cards - Gravity Set(Magnetic Field trap added)

Hi guys. I just joined up and I've been working on a new set idea I had. My Gravity Archetype. I'm still working on the cards in the set, but I have the trump cards of the set all figured out. I'm trying to make this set realistic and beatable.

Here is a rundown on Gravity cards. As the name suggests they have to deal with 'pulling' or combining cards. All but one of the Gravity monsters that I have so far have this effect.

"If this card is in your graveyard and your opponent declares an attack while you control no monster, you can special summon this monster in attack position and select it as your opponent's attack target. After damage calculation, remove this card from the game."

I may add a stipulation that you can only summon the Gravity Monster with the lowest attack points or something like that if you guys think its too much. Anyways, on to the cards I have so far. I finally have a set name as well, Eternal Gravitation Embrace(EGE).

EGE 001 - Gravity Well Dragon - Dark Level 12 Dragon/Gravity/Effect

ATK 3500 DEF 3000

EGE001GWDragon.jpg

"This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card can only be special summoned by returning 5 cards that are removed from play back to your deck. You can remove one Gravity monster in your deck from play to negate any effect that targets this card. If this card is in your graveyard and your opponent declares an attack while you control no monster, you can special summon this monster in attack position and select it as your opponent's attack target. After damage calculation, remove this card from the game."

Ace monster of the set. This monster continues to pull itself onto the field with it's "Gravity". As long as you have Gravity monsters to remove he cannot be destroyed by effects!

EGE 002 - Gravity Hole - Quick-Play Spell

EGE002GHole.jpg

"Activate this card when your life points are 7000 points or more lower than your opponent. Remove every Gravity monster from your hand and deck from play and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the combined total level of the removed monsters x500. If your opponent's life points are more than 0 after this effect, destroy every card on your side of the field and reduce your life points to 1. If Gravity Salvation Angel was removed from play by this effect, special summon Gravity Salvation Angel in attack position."

Part of your ace in the hole should you find yourself in the most dire of circumstances. This card normally will end duels if you haven't got most of your Gravity monsters in your graveyard, which you'll notice this card doesn't touch. If it doesn't end it in one shot, don't fret because you still have part two of your ace.

EGE 003 - Gravity Salvation Angel - Light Level 8 Fairy/Gravity/Effect

ATK 0 DEF 0

EGE003GSAngel.jpg

"This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card can only be special summoned by the effect of Gravity Hole. Destroy this card if your life point total is more than 1. Negate any spell, trap, or monster effect that targets this card. This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle. Negate any battle damage you receive."

As long as you don't raise your life points you basically are immune to any battle that takes place after Gravity Hole resolves. I left effect damage open because lets face it, every card has to have a weakness. There are other cards in the set to protect you from effect damage though. This allows you to regroup and set up to hopefully begin your comeback by getting some of the Gravity monsters that are in your graveyard out and pummeling your opponent while you take no damage.

EGE 004 - Gravity Spirit Stallion - Light Level 3 Beast/Gravity/Effect

ATK 1300 DEF 500

EGE004GSStallion.jpg

"When this card is normal summoned, select 1 Gravity monster in your graveyard and equip it to this card. This card gains ATK and DEF equal to the level of the equipped monster x100 and gains it's effect. If this card is in your graveyard and your opponent declares an attack while you control no monster, you can special summon this monster in attack position and select it as your opponent's attack target. After damage calculation, remove this card from the game."

A fun little monster that starts off weak and gains power by equipping a Gravity monster from your grave. Hopefully you have something strong in your grave to equip.

EGE 005 - Gravity Silent Sentinel - Light Level 6 Rock/Gravity/Effect

ATK 1000 DEF 2700

EGE005GSSentinel.jpg

"If you control no monsters, you can special summon this card from your hand in face up defense position. This card cannot attack. If an effect to switch this card to attack position is activated, release this card to negate the effect and destroy every card on your opponent's field. If this card is in your graveyard and your opponent declares an attack while you control no monster, you can special summon this monster in attack position and select it as your opponent's attack target. After damage calculation, remove this card from the game."

Another defensive monster with what I thought was a unique and underused effect. There are several cards that change battle position, like Zero Gravity(I didn't make that one but it fits in here!). The best part is, you can activate an effect like that yourself and wipe out your opponents field!

EGE 006 - Gravity Shield - Continuous Trap

EGE006GShield.jpg

"Send 2 Gravity monsters from your deck to the graveyard to negate the activation of a spell, trap, or monster effect that targets 1 Gravity monster on your side of the field. During your turn, you can skip your draw phase to special summon 1 Gravity monster from your graveyard in face-up defense position, ignoring the summoning conditions. Gravity monsters summoned this way have their effects negated."

EGE 007 - Wings of Gravitation - Counter Trap

EGE007WOGravitation.jpg

"Activate only when a Gravity Spirit Stallion on your side of the field is attacked. Special summon 1 Gravity Horseshoe Token onto your opponent's side of the field and equip it to the attacking monster. The equipped monster has it's ATK reduced by 800. Remove the equipped monster and a Gravity Spirit Stallion you control from play to special summon Gravity Spectral Warhorse to your side of the field."

Every set has to have a good counter trap. I wanted to have all sorts of combos you could pull off with this set, so this is one of them. Gravity Spirit Stallion is pretty weak on it's own without it's effect, and an opponent can easily overpower it. This card evens the field a little and allows you to get rid of one of your opponent's monsters in order to pull out a better one on your field.

EGE 008 - Gravity Spectral Warhorse - Light Level 4 Beast/Gravity/Effect

ATK 1800 DEF 1800

EGE008GSWarhorse.jpg

"If this card was summoned by Wings of Gravitation, select one Gravity monster in your graveyard and equip it to this card. This card gains ATK and DEF equal to the level of the equipped monster x200 and gains it's effect. If this card is in your graveyard and your opponent declares an attack while you control no monster, you can special summon this monster in attack position and select it as your opponent's attack target. After damage calculation, remove this card from the game."

Basically an upgrade to Gravity Spirit Stallion that only gets that effect if you use Wings of Gravitation to summon it.

EGE 009 - Gravity Regalia - Equip Spell

EGE009GRegalia.jpg

"Equip this card to a level 3 or lower Gravity monster you control. The monster equipped with this card gains ATK equal to the number of Gravity monsters you control x300 and can attack your opponent's Life Points directly. Destroy the monster equipped with this card after 3 turns."

EGE 010 - Gravity Edge Wyvern - Dark Level 4 Dragon/Gravity/Effect

ATK 1900 DEF 2000

EGE010GEWyvern.jpg

"By discarding a Gravity monster from your hand to the graveyard, special summon another Gravity Edge Wyvern from your deck. This card cannot attack if you activate this effect. If this card is in your graveyard and your opponent declares an attack while you control no monster, you can special summon this monster in attack position and select it as your opponent's attack target. After damage calculation, remove this card from the game."

Handy little beatstick that you can use to get more of itself out with, but you can't declare an attack if you do.

EGE 012 - Magnetic Field - Counter Trap

EGE012MField.jpg

"Activate when your opponent activates a card with the effect of summoning a monster. Negate the effect and select one Gravity monster that is removed from play and special summon it. On your next standby phase, pay 500 life points for each level of the selected monster."

Screwed up and made this number 12 instead of 11, but I'll make another for 11 later.

More to come later ^_^

Pic credit goes to Google and the respective image owners, myself only for the modifications specific to each image on the monster cards and the full image on Gravity Hole. Most of the image on Salvation Angel was done by me as well, but I did use elements from some google images.

What Riku said. Use J-Max's Tut on how to make your own subtypes' date=' and it'll be easier. "Gravity" monster Does NOT need quotes on it. Subtypes require nothin' other than this.

EX: Tuner Monster from your Deck to your hand.

[/quote']

"Gravity" having quotations around it depends on whether it refers to the subtype or archetype. It's very ambiguous, so I'm not going to say you're wrong.

Great idea for cards, and I love how Gravity Hole and Gravity Salvation Angel work together. However I wonder how you summon the latter if every Gravity monster has been removed from play from your hand and deck due to Gravity Hole. All that it needs is clarification or alteration. But brilliant otherwise! 9/10

Yes I need to clarify on Gravity Salvation Angel that it can be special summoned while its removed from the game. I've got a few more Gravity cards on the way, including some traps and equip cards.

The theme of this set is working together James, I'm glad you picked up on that and like it, it makes me feel much better seeing you guys reactions. I thought people would think it's stupid, relying heavily on power, but all you guys are great for helping me out and helping me get the cards right.

OK! I added several new cards, fixed effects on some like Gravity Salvation Angel, and hopefully got the OCG stuff down now. If you guys see something that needs fixing please let me know!

These are the best cards from the set that I can think of right now, the Ultimate Rare - regular Rare cards. These are the ones that would wind up on the Limited/Semi-Limited lists.

EGE 012 is up.

By the way, can someone tell me how do I make it to where the card and effect shows up in a drop down menu you can click to view like I have seen on so many other threads? I'd like to save some space if I can, I'm sure you guys don't like scrolling through all of them all the time. Would appreciate it!

Well the Gravity as a type applies to the effect of special summoning from the grave to block direct attacks. I only named these cards "Gravity" because these are the inaugural monsters for the type. Otherwise I would have named them something else. However i'm kind of wishing I had saved these for my new cards I'm working on, its hard thinking of new effects, and the new ones i'm working on are kind of special to me, but oh well.
