Iron Chain Golem

I made this card for my upcoming Yugioh fanfic; it's used by a prison guard (who uses Iron Chain monsters) in a duel against an escaping convict. The effect is a little OPed, but I think I've balanced it out by making it Lv7 and only applying to monsters on the field when it was summoned. Image credit goes to DeviantART.

 

[spoiler=Card Lore]When this card is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned, decrease the ATK of all monsters your opponent controls by 500. When this card is removed from the Field, destroy all monsters afflicted by this card's effect.

 

 

I am not, and do not claim to be an OCG expert. I therefore welcome any suggestions, and will try to alter my card according to your corrections.

afflicted = affected,

 

change the last effect to something like, "when this card is destroyed by battle" or "by a card effect".

 

will make it look more balanced,

Thanks, I might change it to "by a card effect your opponent controls" or something like that, so you couldn't just tribute it and destroy all your opponent's cards. Of course, I might have that part slightly different on the fanfic. :)

iron chain monsters usually have a deck destruction effect

this card doesnt really fit with the rest of the iron chain monsters

but its a good card anyways

take devilq8's advice to make it more balance

Actually, the other main effect of Iron Chain monsters is decreasing opponent's monsters' ATK, like Iron Chain Snake.

I think you could mitigrate the two main Iron Chain themes together.

 

Instead of destroying all monsters affected by the effect, I think you could change it to milling 1 or 2 cards from the top of your opponent's Deck for each monster that was affected by its Summon effect. 2 could become hilariously broken, but 1 might not be enough to merit this 2-tribute guy.

 

It kills the idea of it destroying monsters, but it's not horrible. I just think you could power it down with a mill instead of a psuedo-Raigeki.

Minor OCG and nice pic. But how can it be flip summoned if you can't set it, can you? Cuz you need to sacrifice to play it so you can't set it right?

Nobody ever Tribute Sets anymore, and if they do it basically screams to your opponent "I'm a high-defense monster, don't attack me!" But yes, it's entirely possible.

Well you don't really want your opponent to attack this card unless it's a 2000> ATK monster, so misdirection for them to think it's the Creator or something is a good strategy. I included that bit because it gives a wider range of uses for the card.
