I only just recently came back to the game, sorry if any of the wording is off.

Tried to make it balanced and fair, but in character.

I like what I see. You made good image choices and just as good shows. The text is a bit wordy, but so are the cards I am gonna post in a few days. The effect of The Protector with Headphones is really harsh, and doesn't really fit. If you were to play it in a Duel, you could always stop at five or six and Tribute it.....even with how the effect conserns WB/Beasts. Still, really good. I say about 9.0/10. btw I <3 KOS-MOS.

If you ever played The World Ends With You (DS), then the effect is perfect. And while his 'lose the duel' part is harsh, it prevents him from 'defensive burning' straight through the opponent. The average lifespan of a monster is two turns anyway >_> and he's easily destroyed by basically anything non-WB/Beast. The opponent can also just force the issue anyway and run monsters right into him...it's meant to be a weaker card in exchange for 3000 damage with 6 destroyed, opponent's monsters.

 

About the wordiness...well, most are just different triggers. Angel of a Goddess was the exception, mainly to explain it's drawbacks and it's legal rulings (basically it's there to save Belldandy from being destroyed, but I can see use in the main game easily). And hey, at least you can read the card if you printed it. Even the wordiest card I have is, with full OCG, explain any one of three triggers it has (which are type-dependent).

 

I'll be posting more soon...and I've taken note to keep it simply.

Alright, just looked at 11-16. Again, I really like what you have but there are a few things I would like to point out. For 11 (.hack GU), the effect could be rephrased to "This card is also treated as Zombie-type." Also, maybe the extra damage can be dealt if the attack is successful. I personally think the Chaos Burst Angel's effect should trigger if your LP are lower in general, but that is just me. Black cat equip looks great, including the pic. The Shana card is good, a little weak in my eyes, but the effect should compensate. Maybe the DARK ATK/DEF decrease could be 500 or something. Luv Disgaea so I luv the Overlord card. ^.^ The last one.....I don't really get what it is saying.....maybe you can rewrite the effect a bit more clearly. good work though.

Well, Shana is more in line for her character: more powerful in the presence of magical power, and more defensive when in presence of her precious (hah! like she'd show it) Yuji. And believe me, the 200 is balanced...her ATK stat can get rather high (AND equips, including a few I posted will still work on her!). Heh, Shana with One Kill Vampire Stance and Black Cat Gun - Hades = win (since her original ATK is 1400, it'll work at all times :D)

 

Burning Soul Ambition is more of a line of triggers. Originally, it allows for negation of an effect that would destroy a monster AND let's you draw a card. IF it was activated during the battle phase, the second part kicks in, which allows you to destroy a monster of it's own based on the original targeted monster..

 

I've been meaning to figure out exactly how the replacement Type was worded. I'll need to update a contest card...

 

I'll fix a few OCG errors later.

Alright, here is what I think on AGE-017 and the tourney cards.

 

First of all, the pic is kinda freaky all and all.....I will have nightmares from it. >.> <.< The card itself is good.....however I think it has just one too many negative effects, namely the no drawing at the end. It getting removed and not using effect is enough to balance out the stopping of attacks and summon from the deck. I have never seen this show so I don't know if that does the negatives justice.....but as a card, that is how I see it.

 

Now the tourneys. First, the .hack one. I like it, esp. the pic and name. Looks good, but I don't know why it is treated as Machine and Zombie. Is it an in-game thing? I don't know, I haven't played it, but people told me I would like the game, so I will try soon. Seems a tad underpowered, but it is a 5-star......maybe this can change......

Age-17 is Akumetsu, a fine manga all about suicide clones and teh corrupt government that he faces. Seriously, they purposefully sent Japan into a state far worse than America just to get rich...funny, this was out a year before Death Note and is quickly becoming very relevant today. :D

 

The .hack is easily an in-game reference. Machine type (he's a program) and Zombie Type (he's a -dead- program, revived due to a force within the game. He has no user behind him...). The rest of his ability is attempting to give him his in-game abilities...namely his Data Drain. I tried to bring it over to the mechanics of YGO, and this was the best I had (originally his attackers became Level one Normal Monsters until the end phase, but I saw too many loopholes). Him being a Zombie-Type allows him to be searched with 1500 DEF, so he's rather easy to get into a game, then as long as he's face up you can bring out another one for no tributes.

 

Heh, The Higurashi card won me a contest. I do have the pic, but it's easily available from animepaper.net (where I get ALL my images). Thing is, the site either requires you to post in the forums (quite a bit, actually), pay (one time unless you want raw scans of work, which cost papers), or make your own wallpapers to get wallpapers from them...

 

Oh, and thanks for the bump. I think the topic was somewhere on page four...and I had posted. Making more cards.
