Light Music Edition: The K-On! Set (101/100+)

Heya, fellow Card Creators!
I love Animes. Sure thing that I'm not alone with this attitude in this forum ;) First I wanted to create a card set for my all-time favourite anime series, "Welcome to the NHK" (some of you may know this one). But it turned out to be kinda tricky, not only because getting decent pictures is a hassle, but because I'm lacking decent ideas for that one. Other animes were quickly rolled out of the way, like One Piece or Naruto, because nearly every second set in here is about those. So I was left with a, I have to admit, really hard decision: "Lucky Star" or "K-On!"

Well, maybe I'll make a "Lucky Star" set later in the future, for now I'll stick with the animated awesomeness, cuteness (call it moeness if you want) and funnyness (what, that's not a word? Well, I certainly don't care :P) that is: "K-On!"

Short things short, for those of you who don't know: K-On! is about 5 girls, forming a rock band. They meet in the "Light Music Club" in their school, where they, most of the time, drink tea and eat sweets. Very productive. All of the protagonists have distinct, very charming characters, and it's almost impossible not to like them. Yui always has her heads in the clouds, Mugi is a naive and rich, yet very kind person, Mio seems mature at first, but is a scaredy-cat and embaressed over nearly anything, Ritsu is upbeat, childish and a ted bit chaotic, and Azusa, the youngest member, always wants to practice, but can't withstand the power of cake... or something like that. It's one of those "Slice of Life" animes with a very vague plot, but that doesn't matter much... because it's a ton of fun to watch

However, thats about it for the introduction. The theme for this set (kind of) are Fairy-Types. I think thats the type those girls deserve, and since I...

A. didn't want to write "Light Music Club Member" or "K-On!" in front of every name

and

B. don't like to use fake-types, thats what I ended up with.

Other than that, I tried to be creative with the effects, but didn't try anything to extraordinary. If you're searching for something like that, you might wanna check out my "Alice in Wonderland" set (in my signature... just a minor ad... don't mind it  ).

And last but not least... don't take it to serious ;)

Lore:

"Azusa Nakano" + "Mio Akiyama" + "Ritsu Tainaka" + "Tsumugi Kotobuki" + "Yui Hirasawa"

This card can only be Special Summoned from your Extra Deck by sending the above cards on the field or in your hand to the Graveyard (You do not use "Polymerization"). Any card that requires specifically 1 or more of this card's Fusion Material Monsters to be Summoned or activated can also be Summoned or activated while this card is face-up on the field. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 removed from play Fairy-Type Monster. While you control another face-up Fairy-Type monster, Fairy-Type monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. When this card destroys a monster by battle, you can remove a number of Fairy-Type monsters in your Graveyard from play whose total Level is equal to the Level of the destroyed monster and inflict damage to your opponent equal to it's Level x 400. When this card is removed from the field, return all of your removed from play Fairy-Type monsters to your Deck and gain Life Points equal to their total Level x 400, then draw 1 card for each returned Fairy-Type monster.

(Thanks to .Supervillain for this card design :))

Lore:

If you can hear music in the room you're playing and if you control at least 1 Fairy-Type monster on the field, look at the top 3 cards of your Deck. If 1 or more of these cards are Level 5 or lower Fairy-Type monsters, you can Special Summon them to the field. Every card that is not a Level 5 or lower Fairy-Type monster is replaced on the Deck. Your Deck is then shuffled. Music turned on after the duel has started does not count towards this cards effect.

(Thanks to NeosWiseman for this card design :))

Lore:

Activate this card if you control 5 face-up Fairy-Type monsters on the field, and only during the 1st or 2nd Duel of the Match. You lose the Duel. You start the next Duel in the same Match with 16000 Life Points. During your first Draw Phase of the Duel, instead of conducting your normal draw, you can select 1 of the face-up Fairy-Type monsters that you controlled during the end of the last Duel from your hand or Deck and Special Summon it to the field.

(Thanks to LiAM for this awesome template :))

Main Character related Cards!
234848.jpg234848w.jpg

Yui Hirasawa:

When this card is Tribute Summoned or Flip Summoned, remove it from play. At the beginning of your Main Phase 1, if this card is in your Removed from Play Zone, you gain 800 Life Points for each Fairy-Type monsters you control. During your 3rd Main Phase 1 after you Tribute or Flip Summoned this card, Special Summon it in face-up Defense Position. All other Fairy-Type monsters you control gain 600 ATK and DEF. If this card would be removed from play by an effect other than it's own, return it to your Deck instead. Your Deck is then shuffled.

Yui Hirasawa /Glasses Mode:

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by discarding a "Nodoka Manabe" from your hand or Tributing it from your side of the field while a "Yui Hirasawa" is removed from play. That card has it's effect negated. During your Standby Phase, you gain 800 Life Points for each Fairy-Type monster you control. If you gained 1600 Life Points or less by this effect, select 1 Fairy-Type monster from your Deck and add it to your hand. Once per turn, you can discard any number of Fairy-Type monsters from your hand to add the same number of Spell or Trap Cards from your Deck to your hand. During either players End Phase, if this card is the only monster you control, destroy it and Special Summon 1 "Nodoka Manabe" from your Graveyard and 1 "Yui Hirasawa" from your Removed from Play Zone.

234848r.jpg

Lore:

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 1 removed from play "Yui Hirasawa" to the Graveyard OR by removing 1 "Yui Hirasawa /Glasses Mode" in your Graveyard from play. Once per turn, you can reveal 1 monster in your hand to have this card gain ATK and DEF equal to that card's ATK and DEF. The revealed card stays revealed until the End Phase of your next turn (cards that were revealed by this cards effect cannot be Summoned while they are revealed in your hand). This card gains the effects of all revealed Fairy-Type monsters in your hand. Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 revealed LIGHT Fairy-Type monster in your hand to flip all face-down monsters your opponent controls face-up (Flip effects are not activated). Then, destroy all non-LIGHT monsters your opponent controls.

Gitah]

234848hr.jpg

Lore:

This card can only be equipped to a "Yui Hirasawa" you control on the field or in your Removed from Play Zone.
234848e.jpg

Lore:

This card can only be equipped to a face-up "Yui" monster you control that is equipped with at least 1 Equip Spell Card. Destroy all Equip Spell Cards equipped to that card except this one. If a monster equipped with this card deals battle damage to your opponent, you can destroy this card after Damage Step to destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls and return 1 card of the same card-type from your Graveyard to your hand.
234848pe.jpg
Daydreaming]

234848d.jpg

Both Tokens cannot attack each other, be Tributed or used as Synchro Material Monsters. Your opponent cannot Summon monsters. If no "Yui Hirasawa" is in your Removed from Play Zone, if 1 of the Tokens is destroyed or if this card is destroyed, destroy all Tokens on the field and this card. Then return all monsters that were removed from play by this cards effect to the field in there original Position.

Pay 2000 Life Points to negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card or a Monster Card's effect that destroys 1 or more Fairy-Type monster and destroy it. If 2 or more Fairy-Type monsters you control would be destroyed by a card effect, while you control a face-up "Yui Hirasawa", you can remove this card in your Graveyard from play to negate the activation of that card and destroy it.
234848o.jpg

Lore:

You can add this card from your Graveyard or Deck to your hand by sending 1 "Sawako Yamanaka" from your hand to the Graveyard. This card can only be equipped to a "Yui Hirasawa" or "Ui Hirasawa" you control. The equipped card is also treated as a Thunder-Type monster. When the equipped card battles a WATER monster, it gains 500 ATK during Damage Step only. Each time the equipped monster attacks, activates it's effect, is attacked or affected by a card effect, inflict 200 damage to both players. During the End Phase of a turn where a total of 2000 damage was dealt by this cards effect, destroy it.

234848e.jpg234848q.jpg

Mio, The Scaredy Cat:

You can Special Summon this card from your hand if a "Mio Akiyama" you control is sent to the bottom of your Deck. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can place 1 "Moe Token" (Fairy-Type/LIGHT/Level 1/0 ATK/500 DEF) on your opponents side of the field. This Token cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summoning and cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster. If there are 4 "Moe Tokens" on your opponents side of the field, destroy them and tribute this card to Special Summon 1 "Mio, Queen of Moe" from your Extra Deck.

Mio, Queen of Moe:

This card cannot be Special Summoned except from your Extra Deck by the effect of "Mio, The Scaredy Cat". During your Standby Phase, place 1 Moe Counter on a face-down card your opponent controls. Cards with Moe Counters on them cannot be Summoned, Tributed or activated. This card gains 400 ATK and DEF for each Moe Counter on the field. Once per turn, you can remove 5 or more Moe Counters from anywhere on the field and tribute this card to inflict 800 damage to your opponent for each Moe Counter removed. Lore:

If you control a face-up card with "Sand" in it's name, during your Main Phase, you can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand. You can equip this card to a face-up monster your opponent controls. When this card is equipped to a non-Fairy-Type monster, that card returns to it's owner's hand during the End Phase. If the equipped monster is removed from the field by this cards effect, return this card to the top of your Deck. When this card is equipped to a Fairy-Type monster, it gains 600 ATK. When this card is equipped to a "Mio" monster, once per turn, you can return 1 card your opponent controls to their hand. If you do, place 1 Moe Counter on this card. If there are 5 Moe Counters on this card, you can tribute it and the equipped monster to Special Summon 1 "Mio, Queen of Moe" from your Extra Deck, ignoring the Summoning conditions.

Each time you Normal or Special Summon a Fairy-Type monster, place 1 Success Counter on this card. If a "Mio" or "Ritsu" monster you control would be destroyed by battle, you can remove 1 Success Counter from this card instead. Remove 2 Success Counters to return 1 Fairy-Type monster from your Graveyard to your hand. Remove 5 Success Counters to return each Fairy-Type monster in your Graveyard to your Deck. Tsumugi Kotobuki:

This card is changed to Defense Position when it is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned successfully. Lore:

You can only activate this card if you control a face-up "Sawako Yamanaka". You can only equip this card to a monster your opponent controls. You can equip this card to face-down monsters. When this card is equipped to a face-down monster, flip it face-up (it is still treated as face-down, it cannot attack and Flip effects are not activated) and it looses 1000 DEF. If the DEF of the equipped monster become 0 by this effect, take control of that card and switch it to face-up Attack Position, then return this card to your Deck. Your Deck is then shuffled. When this card is equipped to a face-up monster, that monster looses 1000 ATK. If the ATK of the equipped monster become 0 by this cards effect, destroy it and return this card to your Deck. Your Deck is then shuffled.

Catherine /Assault Mode:

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with "Assault Mode Activate". When this card is Summoned, remove from play all Equip Spell Cards in your Graveyard and inflict 400 damage to your opponent for each card removed. Yes do one, lol

Reminds me of Huge K-ON Fan's cards, lol, also reminds me of my Yui Card, lol

Awesome effect

Pic could be slightly better, lol

8.5/10

Gimme moar lol? Thanks for the rating, and well, I'm happy with the picture, so I won't change it, but it's not the optimum either, you're right with that.

Sweet.

Thank you, come again :)

But before we come to Mio, her fanclub, and all the rest, let's talk about... Gitah! What a charming romance between a girl and her guitar, isn't it?

Yui: When this card is Tribute Summoned or Flip Summoned, remove it from play. At the beginning of your Main Phase 1, if this card is in your Removed from Play Zone, increase your Life Points by 800 x the number of for every Fairy-Type monsters you control. In your 3rd Main Phase 1 after you Tribute or Flip Summoned this card, Special Summon this card to the field in face-up Defense Position. Increase the ATK and DEF of every other Fairy-Type monster on the field by 600 as long as this card remains face-up on the field. If this card would be removed from play by any means an effect other than its own effect, return it to the bottom of your Deck instead. Your Deck is then shuffled.

Gitah is really complicated in terms of OCG. I have no idea how can you equip it to a monster in RFP. I really can't help you on this one. But I can't deny it's an innovative idea. :D

Keep it going! :)

Here you go, by popular demand... somehow... Mio-chan aka moeness incarnate :D

And her BASS Elizabeth. Since the other members of the band didn't name their instruments, those are the last ones for now... which of course doesn't mean that there are no support cards for them ;)

the first time i saw that i almost fell out of my chair from cuteness and laughter

i think her effect and attack fits her pretty well actually lol

I'm glad that you think it fits her, because that was the intention, but to be honest, it was easier to find something for her than for example for Azusa (her effect fits her... I think... around 3 corners) or Mugi (her effect doesn't fit her at all in my opinion... only if you can think around at least 10 corners), but maybe I can come up with something better over night.

I have to warn you: There will be generic, boring cards in this set, that just disable an attack or negate a Spell Card... but I can also promise you some highlights, not only on the visual side, but also regarding the effects :)

Overall, thanks for your comments, I'm glad you liek mah mudkipz... eh... cards

So long, and good night,

Spoon

Here you go, Mugi-Chan and Mugi the Nurse... or something like that :D

As I said, the effect doesn't really fit her... but I'm okay with it, and I hope you're as well. If not, tell me, I'd be glad to give this back to the developer (me) to work it over once more. Same goes for the Nurse Costume ;)

Aw, you didn't get a better looking picture for Tsumugi =[.

You don't like it? :(

Well, I have ca. 10 more pictures left in store (though some of them, like the Nurse one, are kept for special cards), but I wanted to use a fairly "normal" one for the normal card.

I'll post them here in a minute. And if most of the people think that picture 1 or 2 or x is better, I can of course change it ;)

and of course this one... I don't know if I'll use it later on, because it's so moe, your eyes could start to bleed... seriously, it's very moe.

I wanted to rely on a single source of pictures this time to keep a uniform artstyle to all cards, and this source is the anime itself. That makes it sometimes hard to get high-res pictures, but I can live with it if you can ;) If that's not what you meant, please explain "not really good choices for cards" a little more, I'm always happy to learn from the elder (or in this case, just more experienced) card makers :)

And yes, Azu-nyan will be next, since I'm still working on Ritsu.

lol, i'm not really sure if i'm experienced with card making or not, since I joined a couple of months ago, lol

lol, after a while, you know that cards are slightly more interesting with a little art, rather than cards that look like screen caps or something, lol

It's also kinda like that cards with cool backgrounds look cooler than cards without one or just a basic background.

Tsumugi in her maid suit would be the best one, I guess.

lol, yes it would

Alright then ;) I guess it fits at least the effect of the card as well.

I see what you mean... maybe I'll scan Deviantart for once and see if I can get decent pictures for everyone. Until then, I guess you have to take them how they appear, sorry :(

I really like Mio and Elizabeth and Tsumugi is also great. Nurse Costume lol :D

Nice job! Make the Maid one :D

Good job, Spoon!

Much appreciated
