Unable to compete in the next exam, Minawe and Isa continues to recover within the medical unit, pondering what will result from their absence. Though Isa soon sneaks off to train. A shocking discovery was made as Sugito and Tsukihana learns of the complete destruction of the obstacle forest that was going to be the setting of the next exam. Meanwhile, Tatsuya and Kotone helps Uyagiri investigate a strange presence within a forest outside of Norvea City.
Hearing Minawe's suggestion of someone going to check on Kinsei and then suggesting if Isa wanted to go, Isa sighed and then lay back in bed with his arms tucked behind his head. "Nah, we don't need to check on Kinsei..." Isa replied, looking up at the ceiling. Isa then tilted his head to face Minawe and smiled while giving a thumbs up. "Knowing him, he'll be too prideful to accept any help." Isa proclaimed. The nurse smiled seeing that everything seems to be okay. "Well, all of you rest now, I'll be getting out of your hair." the nurse said before walking out and closing the door. Suddenly, Isa pulled off the blanket that was covering the lower half of his body and stood up from his bed. "Well, I'm not gonna stay here." Isa said, cracking his shoulders. "I'm gonna go train. There's no way I'm gonna stay here and just relax. I need to be back at a hundred and fifty percent by tomorrow." Isa explained before opening the window up.

"Well, are any of you guys gonna come along? Minawe! This is a great opportunity for us to go on that da- Err, I mean, this is a great opportunity for us to get back in shape! There's no use just to sit around. If we don't use our muscles, we're gonna lose them, so let's go train, just you and me." Isa suggested.

-Meanwhile-

After awhile of travelling, Tatsuya, Kotone, and Uyagiri finally arrived at the outskirts of Norvea City where they were greeted with the entrance to a fairly large and vast forest. Walking to the front of the group, Uyagiri looked at the forest with a serious expression. Suddenly turning around, Uyagiri had a happy expression on his face when he directed his attention to Tatsuya and Kotone. "Alright we're finally here. Took us less time than I thought. Seems as though my back's finally-" Just when Uyagiri thought his back condition was getting better, a sharp pain quickly interrupted him. "Arrgh... N-Never mind..." Uyagiri said with a faint tone and with his head lowered and body hunched over.

"Jeez, I knew this was a bad idea... You could've just sent one of us alone to go here with written instructions on what to do. There was no need to bring your fragile glass body out here Uyagiri..." Kotone said with a skeptical expression on her face. "L-Look, I know how to take care of myself, you don't need to worr-" Suddenly, Uyagiri's eyes widened as he noticed something strange happening to the ground but was too minuscule for Tatsuya or Kotone to detect. "Both of you, jump out of the way NOW!" Uyagiri shouted. Suddenly, a large skeletal hand erupted from beneath their feet. The hand was wide enough to span the space between all three individuals. Just as this happened, Kotone managed to leap back as well as Uyagiri, though when Uyagiri leaped back, he felt his back pain occurring again though he simply ignored it.

Kotone quickly entered a battle stance while Uyagiri managed to land on his feet despite his condition. Then, arising from the ground was a large skeletal monster similar to the ones that attacked the Norvea during the first exam of the BREPT albeit smaller in size. "Great, another one of these bony pricks..." Kotone dryly joked. "(Looks like someone's trying to protect what's hiding out here...)" Uyagiri thought, a single sweat drop running down his face. Suddenly, another skeletal monster of similar size erupted from the ground, twenty feet or so from behind Kotone. Without wasting any time, the two creatures attacked with their large hands. The attempted to crush Tatsuya and Kotone with their huge palms descending quickly onto the two exorcists. Once the skeleton closer to Kotone attacked, a huge pillar of dust and debris shot high up into the air.

Once the dust and debris had cleared, which was rather quickly, Kotone could been seen displaying great strength as she was blocking the humongous skeleton's palm with her four-holed katana held over her head. Though her arms showed signs of shaking and her feet were gradually digging into the ground and skidding back. "Damn, they sacrificed strength for speed but these f*ckers are still pretty strong." Kotone commented with gritted teeth. Then, displaying more of her strength, Kotone was able to swing the huge skeletal hand away to the left of her. With the weight lifted off of her, Kotone quickly placed her arms down from the fatigue. "We gotta kill these things fast..." Kotone said, panting.

-Meanwhile-

"What?! The entire forest obstacle has been eradicated?!" Tsukihana quickly repeated as he stood up and slammed his hands onto Sugito's table. "B-But how could this happened?!" Tsukihana asked. "*Sigh* Unfortunately we have no clue on how this occurred. The Knights are currently looking into the case but more importantly, the obstacle forest was going to be used as the setting for the next BREPT exam. Now without it... Well, there can be no partner obstacle exam..." Uyagiri said. "Damn, I can't believe something like this could happen without us knowing about it... Wait! How about the guards that were guarding the entrance to the forest?! What happened to them?!" Tsukihana asked eagerly. "They've disappeared without a trace..." Sugito replied.

"T-They've disappeared just like that...? Surely something disturbing is occurring. Do we really want to continue the BREPT in this current situation-" Just as Tsukihana finished saying that, the door opened and a familiar figure walked inside. "Of course we need to continue the BREPT." the voice replied. Turning around, Tsukihana saw Saint Mikael Luxcius Constantine VIII himself walking inside, escorted by two A-Ranked exorcists by his side. "T-The Patriarch...!" Tsukihana muttered, shocked to see the Patriarch making a rare appearance. "Saint Constantine, what is your Holiness required of here...?" Sugito asked, quite shocked himself. "My fellow holy brethren, during this trying time we cannot allow such incidences to soil the hard work and morale of the budding, young exorcists. You of all people should know that young Tsukihana." Mikael explained, referring to something that happened to Tsukihana in the past.

"Yes your Holiness but I fear for my fellow student exorcists' safety." Tsukihana replied. "And I too, but we cannot allow fear to take away the opportunities of the eager young exorcists. I am willing to lay down my very life and salvation in believing in the capabilities of these young exorcists along with the capabilities of the examiners such as yourselves to protect the exorcists. Let me suffer in damnation if they were to die." Mikael explained. "Tsukihana, Saint Constantine is right. We need to have faith in the students. Keep in mind, once they've been promoted to the rank of B-Rank exorcists, they will no longer be mere students but full-fledged exorcists capable of teaching a new generation of students." Sugito stated. "You're right... Well then, what do we do now?" Tsukihana asked. "Proceed with the battle exams." Mikael announced.

After Uyagiri told the two to jump away Tatsuya, like the other two, jumped back managing to avoid the skeleton's hand. "Only one? and not even as big as the one we've fought before. This will be easy." He spoke too soon. Another skeleton soon popped out of the ground. "Great. i assume i'll be doing most of the work here since you two are so useless." The skeletons were the first to strike. They attacked both him and Kotone with their palms. He quickly dashed a few steps to the side just narrowly avoiding the attack. He then leaned against the sketon's arm. "You'll have to do better than that if you don't want to die."

After seeing Kotone blocking the attack and soon knocking it away a drop of sweat rolled down his head. "Yep, definitely a man...I won't lose to a tranny." He quickly jumped a few feet into the air and began to reatedly stomp on the skeltons hand to plant it into the ground.

Minawe sighed, "I suppose you're right...I just hope Kenny will be fine." The nurse then left seeing everything was alright, sayign they needed to rest, but as soon as she left Isa stood up saying he wasn't going to stay. Instead he was going to train. He asked if she wanted to come along. "You bet!" She stood up, "I agree with you! We don't have that long before the next part of the test so we should be ready! Let's go Rei, you're coming too."

Rei lazily opened one eye, "Why?"

"For moral support, duh!" Minawe responded as if it was an obvious answer. "So you know a good place for us to train? To be completely honest I pretty much wing everything in the battle field, or rely on Rei's past knowladge of fighting." Minawe admitted scratching the back of her head and blushing.

"REI'S COMING???!!!" Isa asked with a surprised tone. The room then became silent after Isa's outburst. "I mean... Rei's coming? That's awesome! We wouldn't want to leave him out of our training-only date- Err, I mean training-only day. Nothing romantically-linked is gonna happen hehe..." Isa rambled with a nervous chuckle as he placed his left hand on the back of his head. "(Damn, another opportunity to be alone with Minawe has failed... Oh well, maybe once I show her how good of an exorcist I am she'll finally go on that date with me.)" Isa thought, followed by a devious snicker.

Isa then snapped out of his current state of mind and turned back to answer Minawe's question. "Don't worry about the training area, I got it all figured out! I was gonna take us there after visiting Jenos but then all of that weird stuff happened that we can't remember, but anyways, let's go." Isa said as he hopped out of the window.

[Later]

After a bit of walking led by the energetic Isa, the three arrived at an abandoned warehouse-like building located at a part of the Nirvana Ordinis institute that few people rarely pass through. "Here we are!" Isa said before kicking the doors open to reveal the inside of the building to be perfectly lit and spacious. "Don't let the outside fool ya. People think it's just your average no-use building but thanks to Masanori, this placed has been transformed into a training field. Me, Masanori, and Shiratori always go here to train with each other." Isa explained.

Suddenly, Isa's voice became a bit worried in tone. "Though lately... Those two haven't been going here... I wonder if something's wrong with them..." Isa muttered. Snapping out of his worried state, Isa turned back to face Minawe and Rei with a smile. "Uhh anyways, we should get started!" Isa said.

"Since Lumi refuses to show up when you tried summoning him, I guess either you'll have to fight alone or have Rei possess you Minawe." Isa said as he took his distance from Minawe and Rei. "I'll go easy on ya if you want. Besides, I can't bear to hurt you Minawe." Isa said, blushing when he said the second thing.

-Meanwhile-

"Jeez, would you start taking things a little more seriously you damn prick?!" Kotone shouted at Tatsuya after hearing the tranny comment he had made. In her current rage, the skeleton aimed it's huge left fist at Kotone. The skeleton then proceeded to aim a fast punch at her. However, as the punch neared Kotone, she simply held her palm out towards the skeleton and completely stopped the punch with one hand. Kotone then turned her head around, looking at the skeleton with an extremely pissed off expression. "You f*cking prick, can't you see I'm talking here...?" Kotone asked before a sudden silver flash went across the skeleton's fist. A couple of seconds after that, about half of the skeleton's fist was suddenly severed and fell to the ground where it kicked up dust and debris upon landing onto the ground.

The skeleton didn't seem to feel the pain but it then it retracted its arm and looked at its hand, noticing half of its hand has been severed. "Damn are these f*cking things dim-witted." Kotone scoffed as she slashed her holed-blade to the side to get rid of some bony debris that was stuck on her blade. Uyagiri was pleasantly surprised at what he had just witnessed. "(Well, Kotone's sword speed has increased dramatically... Tatsuya, looks like your competition has once again caught up to you...)" Uyagiri thought.

On Tatsuya's side of things, Tatsuya had jumped up into the air and proceeded to repeatedly stomp the hand of the skeleton he's facing into the ground. With each stomp, the skeleton's hand began cracking more and more and the crater made from the repeated stomping also increased in size. Not feeling pain but understanding that its hand was being crushed, the skeleton swat its large hand at Tatsuya in a wide horizontal arc.

While stomping on the hand he looked back at Kotone. "How can I take these wimps and that bulge you've got in your pants seriously?!" Her attention was soon taking away by the skeleton aiming a punch at her that she simply blocked with one hand and then cut the fist in half. What he said was, "Yeah, there's no way you're a girl," but what he thought was "When the f*ck did she learn to do that?"

Looking back at the skeleton it seemed to finally realize its hand was being crushed and was now going for a horizontal swat attack. He held both his arms out and on his face he had a grin. "You want me to take this seriously?!" The moment the skeleton's hand touched him he wrapped his arms around it in a tight hold. After a few spurts of blood from his mouth and being sent back a few feet he began to twist his upper body. He was going to try and throw this skeleton at the other one and Kotone. "Hey Kotone! Catch!"

Minawe couldnt help the confused look after Isa out burst. "Whats wrong?" She didnt understand why Rei coming would cause such a reaction. While Minawe was trying to figure it out, Rei walked over to Isa. "You have your work cut out for you." Was all he said.

Isa eventually led them to a building that looked pretty old. She was a bit worried that it would be destroied if they trained there, but Isa assured that it would be fine. Since they were gonna train, Minawe figured that she should practice with Lumi considering that they were going to be partners. However, when she tried nothing happened again. "Is he....still mad..."

"Rei...Can you go back to Abaddon and check on Luna?" Rei glanced at Minawe, who was staring at her hand depressingly, and sighed. "You know I can't do that. I'm stuck here unless some random portal large enough to support my being appears." Minawe's frown deepened. "What if he's really hurt...He may need help....I dont believe Luna would hold a grudge like that for this long...Right?" Before Rei could respond Isa spoke up saying that she should fight with Rei or alone since Lumi wasnt appearing.

Minawe looked at her hand for another second, before facing Rei. "How about it?"

He groaned, but uncrossed his hands anyway, "Fine."

"Possession!" They both said simultaniously. Just like the first time, Minawe's hair turned silver and fell down to her middle back with blond colored lightening bolts. Her eyes were bright red, and she was hovering an inch or two off the ground. Minawe was practically glowing with high voltage electricity, even her hair seemed to be charged. "Why dont you go first." Both hers and Rei's voice could be heard distictively.

Seeing Minawe's possession, Isa's eyes almost popped out from his head. "(S-So this is what Minawe looks like during possession huh?)" Isa thought to himself, blushing. Shaking his head and snapping out of his infatuated state of mind, Isa clenched his fists. "(No, I gotta be serious now. With a possession, there's no telling just how powerful Minawe is.)" Isa thought with a serious expression on his face. Then, hearing Minawe's and Rei's voice at the same time telling Isa to take the first move, Isa smiled. "Alright Minawe, but now that technically Rei's also fighting, I won't hold back." Isa replied. "(They seem really calm when their fighting together in this state. That's good. I maybe not even be a match against them. Well, let's see how things turn out.)"

Isa slammed his legs one after another on the floor, kicking up dust and preparing his legs for running. Then, without waning, Isa charged at Minawe, though this time around, a tornado did not form as he ran. "(My speed's cut back due to the injuries I suffered... Minawe doesn't seem to need to use her legs...)" Isa thought. As he ran, Isa then aimed a punch at the ground. Once he made contact with the ground, a medium-sized chunk of the floor was sent toward Minawe with a trail of dust covering the projectile and tailing out behind it similar to a missile being launched. After that, Isa then leaped up into the air and soon was position high above Minawe, almost reaching the ceiling.

Interlocking his fingers and closing his hands together, Isa then raised his interlocked hands above his head and attempted a downward strike at Minawe below while the projectile attack was still heading towards Minawe. "(I can't afford to be slow dealing with Minawe in her possessed state!)" Isa thought as he descended towards Minawe his downward interlocked-hands strike.

-Meanwhile-

The skeleton whose hand was cut in half by Minawe took a moment to look at its hand, and after a moment, it finally realized what had happened. It then proceeded to clenched its other hand into a fist and raised it above its head, then hammering it down upon Kotone. "Tch, you may have caught me by surprise when you first appeared but-" Before Kotone's sentence could be finished, the skeleton's arm, up to its elbow, was completely and rather quickly dispatched in one blinding flash of silver. As its arm fell onto the ground before it could even reach Kotone, she continued her sentence, "this is just getting f*cking boring..." Kotone proclaimed.

On Tatsuya's side of things, as the skeleton's hand swatted Tatsuya, Tatsuya then proceeded to spat up some blood but not before grabbing hold of the skeleton's hand and impressively stopped the momentum of the hand; only being sent back a few feet. Twisting his body slowly and then gradually speeding up, Tatsuya attempted to toss the behemoth towards the other skeleton that was facing Kotone, not to mention Kotone herself. The skeleton's body slowly lifted from the ground and gradually, it's entire skeletal body appeared out of the crack it created in the ground. In an impressive display of sheer power, Tatsuya lifted up the entire skeleton as he tossed it towards the aforementioned targets. Seeing this, Uyagiri's jaw fell. "(What the hell has this kid been eating...?)" Uyagiri thought to himself as he saw Tatsuya's display of power.

Kotone then looked back to see the incoming skeleton turned projectile. "What the fu-" Before she could finish what she was saying, Kotone quickly leaped back to avoid the skeleton heading towards her direction. Before the other skeleton could become aware of what was happening, the skeleton that was thrown collided with that skeleton, creating a silent explosion of dust and debris as the two collided. A little bit later, as the dust and debris cloud finally cleared, the two skeletons was reduced to a destroyed pile of bones and nothing more. Their skulls crushed as well as their bodies, the two skeletons then turned to white ash which then decayed to nothingness. Uyagiri was impressed, but Kotone on the other hand... "Hey a**hole, watch where your throwing sh*t!!!" Kotone shouted with comical anger. "You wanna f*cking get your head cut off?!" Kotone threatened.

"Oh boy, here we go again..." Uyagiri sighed. "Okay, okay, enough you two!" Uyagiri stopped the bickering. "Let's focus on the task at hand shall we? It seems someone doesn't like for us to pry in their business seeing as how they tried to killed us with these things, but arrogantly of them, they thought these pawns would be enough to kill us. I'm guessing this person sure is prideful to not send something stronger. So now with that said, let's just see what this person's trying to hide shall we?" Uyagiri explained to the two.

"And who's going to be the one to cut off my head? It sure as hell isn't going to be you if the last time we fought you had to get your ass saved by Uyagiri and I just saved your ass right there by taking out both skeletons at the same ti-" Suddenly, Tatsuya had felt enormous pain from all over his body. "Ow my back! Ow my arms! Ow my legs! Ow my everything!" He fell to the ground after his cries in pain. "I think I brokeat least half the bones in my body because I threw that thing." He looked away from Kotone and just began to crawl inm whatever direction he needed to while trying to hold in the pain. "I'll be fine. I'll...crawl it off."

Minawe watched Isa, both her face and posture presenting a calm disposition. Her head tilted to the side sligtly when Isa began stomping his legs, almost like a sumo wrestler.
'Do not take him lightly. His injuries may slow him down, but dont rely on that to heavily.' Rei spoke in Minawe's mind.

Minawe smirked outwardly, "I understand. It would be foolish to do so."

Isa suddenly dashed towards Minawe, punching the ground sending a large chunk of rock at her. Once Minawe focused on the rock Isa vanished from sight, appearing above her locking his hands together and coming down on top of her. Minawe held out her hand towards the rock and calling out a familiar technique of Rei's, "Violent Voltage!"

There was a split second pause before a streme of lightening shot from her palm splicing the rock in two, the two halves passing Minawe on either side. She didn't have time to admire her work. Minawe brought her hands up in a block, grunting in both shock and pain. She didn't expect the hit to be so hard.

Minawe looked at Isa with a light chuckle, "You surprised me." She quickly brought her leg straight up attempting to get him away. She wasnt expecting him to actually get hit, but Minawe was only trying to create distance. Minawe's leg remained up for a few seconds longer before placing it down, but when she did a stream of lightening, shaped like a crescent moon, dissconnected from her heading to Isa. It was spining in a virtical position, moving along the ground and creating a pathway. "Lighteing Crescent!"

Watching the rock being split apart easily with Minawe's "Violent Voltage" attack, Isa didn't seem to be bothered by it. "(I didn't think it would actually work either, but I guess it made for a decent distraction.)" Isa thought as the bottom part of his interlocked hands was brought down onto Minawe. However, Minawe was able to bring her hands up to block the attack. Even so, upon the attack colliding with Minawe, Minawe's feet were brought down and the force of the attack created a pretty decent-sized crater below Minawe as well as kicking up a cloud of dust and debris. As the debris soon cleared, it was a surprising sight to Isa that Minawe didn't get knocked over. Ironically, Minawe told Isa that she had surprised her with that attack and then proceeded to counter.

Minawe then brought her leg up with the intent of trying to create distance between the two rather than actually landing a blow on Isa, and it worked as she predicted. Isa brought his hands apart and to his sides as he leaped back to avoid the kick. After a few seconds of her leg remaining in the air and after some distance was created by Isa, Minawe brought her leg down and as she did, lightning in the shape of a crescent moon burst from Minawe's leg and headed towards Isa who was surprise by the sudden projectile. As it moved towards Isa, the crescent moon spun vertically, creating a familiar disk-like appearance. The lightning that discharged from the projectile as it moved across the ground created a pathway as Minawe called out the attack's name as "Lightning Crescent".

Seeing the incoming projectile, Isa attempted to avoid it by leaping out of the way but as he twisted his leg, Isa suddenly felt pressure, enough so to cause his attempt at dodging the projectile to fail. Isa gritted his teeth and looked at his leg. "(Damn, there's no way I'll be able to dodge in this condition!)" Isa thought. Looking back at the crescent moon, Isa then formed an "x" in front of him with his arms in order to block the attack. "(Hopefully I will take more damage in my arm and avoid damage to my internals...)" Isa thought as he stopped moving back and the lightning crescent moon neared him. The next thing that Isa did was quite surprising. Taking a quick, deep breath, Isa then lunged towards the lightning crescent moon with his arms still held out in an x-shape in front of him.

With gritted teeth and a serious "do-or-die" type of expression on his face, Isa charged through the lightning crescent moon. As the projectile collided with him, Isa was inflicted with a powerful lightning shock that also discharged thin streaks out in various and random directions. As the smaller streaks hit the walls and ceiling, small but powerful explosions occurred. While still being shocked, Isa stopped his charge for a split moment but then continued onward towards Minawe at great speed. Finally nearing Minawe, Isa held his left arm outward with a clenched fist and then proceeded to launch and electrified punch towards Minawe's chest region. Though his punch seems a bit slower than his usual punches meaning he's holding back in causing any extreme damage.

-Meanwhile-

As each word was said by Tatsuya in his response, Kotone gradually became more angered; a vein popped up on her forehead and she began to slightly shook from anger. Kotone seems ready to kill Tatsuya but then suddenly, something happened that would make Kotone completely forget about her anger. Tatsuya suddenly fell to the ground after shouting out in pain; naming some specific body parts but ending in saying his entire body is in pain. Tatsuya then proceeded to say that he has probably broken at least half of the bones in his body. Seeing Tatsuya crawling, Kotone's face became blank for a moment but then, "Ahahahahaha! Pathetic!" Kotone laughed boisterously at Tatsuya's current state. "Hahahaha, you look like a damn worm!" Kotone continued her enjoyment of Tatsuya's current situation.

Uyagiri watched the two with a sweat drop on his head. "(Guess all of that strength was just a spur-of-the-moment kinda thing...)" Uyagiri thought. While Kotone continued laughing and pointing as Tatsuya was crawling his way away from Kotone, Uyagiri was walking towards Tatsuya. Arriving next to Tatsuya, Uyagiri kneeled down towards him. "You shouldn't have showed off like you did you damn moron..." Uyagiri impassively scolded. "Okay, quite squirming so I can check on your condition." Uyagiri told Tatsuya before grabbing his arm and checking it. After the quick checkup, Uyagiri nodded a few times with his eyes closed and his right hand placed on his chin. "Hahahaha, what's wrong? He won't be able to make it right? We should just leave him out here to be eaten by wild animals hahaha!" Kotone suggested, still entertained by Tatsuya's suffering.

"Luckily, your bones aren't broken at all Tatsuya, but your impressive stunt caused some of your muscles to tear and many more are stretched to the point of almost tearing." Uyagiri explained although that didn't seem to be "lucky" news at all. "And when I say lucky, I mean that you're under the supervision of me, Prof. Uyagiri, greatest Verse user of all time hahaha!" Uyagiri suddenly took a comical and prideful turn of expression. Hearing this caused a sweat drop to form on Kotone's head. "What an idiot..." Kotone mocked. "Like I was saying. I'll fix you up right now and you will be good as new. Holy Verse LXXXIX: Wakagaeri." Uyagiri called out before snapping his fingers. Suddenly, a large, glowing white halo appeared below Tatsuya and as soon as the light from the halo embraced Tatsuya, he began feeling rejuvenated.

"Don't know if you remember this Verse but I used it last time when you were seriously injured by Rednocte and your wound was cauterized. This will get you back to a hundred percent." Uyagiri explained. In the background, Kotone, seeing this, crossed her arms and began mumbling a whole load of curse words aimed towards Tatsuya being healed. After a moment, the halo disappeared, leaving Tatsuya fully rejuvenated. "Good, now that that's done with, we can continue." Uyagiri smiled. His smile didn't last for long however as a sudden heavy pressure from a massive amount of soul energy fell upon the area. Uyagiri quickly became serious and looked towards the direction of the soul signatures. Kotone also felt the soul energies and looked in the same direction. "You two can feel that too right?! That's a lot of soul signatures all at once..." Kotone said.

"Come you two, we need to go check out the site of all of those soul signatures." Uyagiri said and, without hesitation, ran in the direction of where all of the signatures are coming from. Not wasting time either, Kotone followed swiftly behind Uyagiri.

Tatsuya just ignored Kotone's comments. He wanted to see her pull a huge skeleton out of the ground and then chuck it at another one managing to completely destroy them. But he knew that'd never happen. After being healed by Uyagiri, Tatsuya stood back up but before he could say something to get back Kotone with there was an incredible pressure. "What the hell...?" Like the other two he looked in the direction of the massive soul energy. "Of course I can sense that. I'm sh*t at sensing souls and I can sense that." A grin popped up on his face before running after the soul signature with the other two. "Whatever it is, I'll Slaughter It!"

Isa's tactic surprised Minawe and for a second she was going to call off the attack. There was no way he would be able to survive running straight into her attack. It was suicidal! Even so, Isa proved Minawe wrong when he not only braved through the attack, but was still charging for her, the remanants of her lightening attack still swirlling around him. Momentarily stunned by his show of strength and tenacity, Minawe didn't move, only standing there in shock.

'Hey idiot, move!' Rei attemtped to call out.

The shout was enough to awaken her from her stupor, but there was no time to dodge. She just barely had the time to raise a flimsy block right before Isa's fist connected. The force and power of the attack had Minawe flying back, crashing into and through the wall, now lying halfway through the hole with her body outside and her legs hanging inside the building. "Just what kind of power does Aruki have? He's strong..."

'It would be best not to take a direct hit.'

Minawe rolled her eyes, retracting her legs from the hole, and standing, "I can figure that much." She said straightening her skirt before climbing through the hole. Not wasting another second she jumped up and towards Isa, leaving a small crater behind, fliping once in the air then coming down with an overhead kick, her leg glowing with volts of electricity.

Seeing the power output of his attack was more than he had hoped for, Isa's mind shifted away from the battle. "M-Minawe! Sorry about that! Are you okay?!" Isa asked worryingly. However, Isa also had trouble on his side of things. The lightning that was still continuously shocking him finally became too overwhelming and Isa was brought to his knees. "ARRGH!" Isa grunted from the pain. Finally, the lightning dissipated, leaving behind a slightly burned and temporarily paralyzed Isa. "(Crap, even I can't muscle my way through this...!)" Isa thought as his body shook subtly on its own. Minawe on the other hand was faring better than Isa. Though Isa's strength is a big concern, once it has been taken away from him, Isa was basically a sitting duck, or at least that's how the situation looked.

Not wasting any time, Minawe leaped towards Isa, and as she leapt, a small crater was left behind. Nearing Isa, Minawe performed an impressive feat of acrobatics by flipping once in the air leading to an electrified overhead kick coming down upon Isa. Due to his paralysis, Isa couldn't even tilt his head up to see the attack coming down on him. As the kick finally connected, with most of the force hitting Isa's spinal column, a powerful burst of lightning surged onto Isa's entire backside. "UGH!" Isa shouted as he felt the blow. Though amazingly, Isa still remained on his knees even after being hit directly by such a powerful attack. But his impressive durability couldn't hold up for long as Isa soon founded himself lying flat on the ground just a few moments after the initial blow.

"I think I hear the sound of lightning coming from here." a familiar female voice can be faintly heard from the outside of the warehouse.

Not long after, Minawe and Isa were confronted with two familiar faces. Walking hastily into the warehouse building was Tsukihana and the nurse who was last seen in the hospital room with Minawe, Rei, and Isa. "*Gasp* What's going on here???" the nurse asked, putting her hands over her mouth as she saw the two were fighting or as they would argue, training. "Well if I didn't know any better, I would say these two snuck off to do some training for the next exam..." Tsukihana proclaimed. Lying with a comically unconscious expression on the ground, Isa couldn't return an explanation, leaving Minawe to deal with the two individuals. "You two snuck off to train even after I told you two to rest? Why doesn't anybody heed the advice of medical professionals?" the nurse disappointingly asked.

"Make that three... I'm sure Rei-san would be obliged to release the possession now..." Tsukihana said calmly.

[Later]

After receiving the quick treatment of a rejuvenation Verse, Minawe, Rei, and Isa were brought to a private office by Tsukihana. After taking their seats on a dark brown, leather couch, Tsukihana proceeded to address the three. "Honestly, you two shouldn't be so hasty to get to training. Your health should be of the greatest concern." Tsukihana scolded Minawe and Isa but left Rei out of the mix mostly due to his belief that Minawe dragged Rei into participating. However, Tsukihana's scolding tone quickly vanished with a sigh. "Though I'm not here to scold you two, and I guess I was once hot-blooded like that too..." Tsukihana admitted. "You, hot-blooded???" Isa asked with a really surprised tone.

Quickly getting off the subject, Isa did what he thought should be done. "Tsukihana-senpai, to be honest with you, this was all my idea. Minawe and Rei just got dragged along with me because I wanted to fuel my selfish desire of becoming a B-Ranked exorcist..." Isa repented. "I know..." Tsukihana replied as he closed his eyes and crossed his arms, seeming disappointed. Though a pleasant smile was then brought onto Tsukihana's face. "But your punishment has already been served Isa-kun. Being so easily defeated by Minawe-chan and you're named the third strongest of the Class-A students? I find that title rather unfitting now hehe." Tsukihana lightly teased, followed by a slight chuckle.

Hearing that, Isa lightly blushed. "I was defeated rather easily..." Isa mumbled to himself, a bit embarrassed by the outcome of the rather short training session. Isa then took a secretive glance at Minawe and his blush intensified a bit. "(Then again, I don't mind... Minawe sure is powerful...)" Isa thought before looking back to the front before Minawe could notice the infatuated glare of admiration. "I'm only teasing Isa-kun. Anyways, now to get to the matter that I need to tell you two." Tsukihana said.

"Due to unpredicted events, the obstacle forest exam has now been canceled." Tsukihana firstly said.

"What the- The exam is canceled?! S-So what does that mean for the BREPT now?" Isa asked, surprised by the news. "After conversing with his Holiness, the Patriarch, Prof. Sugito, overseer of this year's BREPT, has decided to move forward onto the battle exams." Tsukihana explained. "Battle exams?" Isa asked. "The battle exams will consist of individual monitored battles between participants of the BREPT. In other words, the battle exams are a series of one-on-one battles that will be monitored by examiners. I am one of the three examiners this year." Tsukihana explained. "One-on-one battles huh...? Yeah... Now I'm pumped! I can't wait to get in that arena and show what I can do!" Isa rejoiced, standing up off the couch.

"To continue, the battle exams will be restricted to the public but will be open for viewing by participants of the BREPT if they so chooses. The first battle will be a week from now and from then on, each battle will be two days apart. There will be a brief BREPT meeting tomorrow afternoon to reveal the battle structures and the battle orders so it's vital to attend as with all meetings. The BREPT committee has already taken the opportunity to send letters with the enclosed information I have just explained to you two out to the other participants' dorms. However, I decided to deliver this information to you two personally to prevent Isa-kun here from exerting himself early, however, that failed as you two already begun training." Tsukihana explained.

"Alright! Got it Tsukihana-senpai! I'll take a break for a couple of days before training my butt off for my battle!" Isa excitedly said. Tsukihana then turn his attention towards Minawe and Rei, but mostly Minawe. "Minawe-chan, since Re-san is your demon partner, it is legal for him to battle alongside you via possession. So if you want to and if Rei-san is willing to oblige, then Minawe-chan will be able to fight at her full potential in her battle." Tsukihana explained. "Other than that, I have no more news to report so now you two should seriously think about getting some rest. I'll see you two at the meeting tomorrow." Tsukihana said, giving them the permission to leave. As Isa got up and walked towards the door, he stopped and turned to Tsukihana.

"Uhh Tsukihana-senpai, I got one thing I want to ask." Isa said. "Hmm, very well, what is it Isa-kun?" Tsukihana asked. "Just what happened that Prof. Sugito needed to cancel the obstacle forest exam?" Isa asked curiously. For a moment, Tsukihana was silent, but then he hesitantly began to answer. "I really can't say anything about that. Sorry Isa-kun." Tsukihana replied. "O-Oh that's alright. Thanks. Well, Minawe, Rei, Tsukihana-senpai, I'll be seeing all of you later. I'm gonna go get something to eat cause I'm starving!" Isa said energetically before leaving.

-Meanwhile-

As Tatsuya, Uyagiri, and Kotone continued running in the direction of the huge mass of soul signatures, Uyagiri then noticed the sudden appearance of another soul signature. However, this soul signature was rather faint as if the person who that soul signature belongs to is attempting to hide their energy. Unfortunately for them, Uyagiri is a decent enough tracker to sense the well-hidden soul signature. Uyagiri began to become suspicious of things. "(Whoever's hiding their soul signature is doing it expertly well, almost as well as Knights who have the ability to almost completely eliminate their soul signature from detection. What's more is that whoever's hiding their soul signature is still within the area of the mass of soul signatures. I need to be careful...)" Uyagiri thought to himself.

After awhile of running, the three finally arrive at an incredibly expansive forest clearing where the first thing they notice was quite a shocking sight. A couple tens of feet in front of them was a massive crater spanning almost the entire clearing. Tatsuya, Uyagiri, and Kotone quickly stopped in their tracks so they won't accidentally fall into the deep crater. "What in the-" Kotone stopped mid-sentence. "Just what in the hell is this???" Kotone asked, shocked at the sight of the massive crater. A sweat drop gradually slid down Uyagiri's right cheek as he gazed at the crater with widened eyes, not because of the size of the crater but what was within the crater, or more appropriately, lack thereof.

In a surprising turn of events, mostly in the eyes of Uyagiri, the massive crater was found to contain absolutely nothing in it at all. "Yo Uyagiri, have any idea about this huge ass crater???" Kotone asked. "Don't think about the crater for a second. Do you notice anything different...?" Uyagiri asked. "Different...? What do you-" Before Kotone could finish what she was saying, it finally occurred to Kotone that the mass of soul signatures from earlier has now completely vanished from trace. "Yeah, you finally noticed huh..." Uyagiri said. "Guess I was too fixated on the giant crater to even notice the soul signatures disappearing... But how can they disappear just like that?" Kotone asked.

"My guess's as good as yours at this point but whatever was in that crater, it must've have something to do with the mass of soul signatures." Uyagiri proclaimed. "So this crater was meant for holding something... But what-" Just as Kotone could finish what she was saying, Uyagiri began to call out a Verse. "Holy Verse LV: Tengoku no Fukakaina Kumo..." Uyagiri chanted. Suddenly, a large translucent, white dome barrier materialized out of light and completely held Tatsuya, Uyagiri, and Kotone inside. A little bit further down from the very top of the dome was a heavenly, winged emblem that resembled a blue three-pointed shield with a gold trim with two crossing wings and a white gem in the middle of the shield.

Right after the dome barrier had form, an extended flash of silver slammed onto the barrier with immense force. The force of the slam caused the ground of rock and dirt surrounding the barrier to crumble slightly and kicking up small clouds of dust and debris into the air. Though everything with the dome barrier was protected, including the ground within the barrier itself. "Your ability to hide your soul energy is impressive I must say, but I was able to pick up on your soul signature before you even thought of this attempted kill." Uyagiri told whoever attempted to attack the three. Kotone turned around to see a sudden flash of what appears to be an armored individual dashing off into the thick brush, not wanting to be seen clearly by Tatsuya, Uyagiri, and Kotone after the individual's attempted assault failed.

"Hey that little prick's getting away!" Kotone exclaimed. "Leave him..." Uyagiri said just before the barrier disappeared. "His attempted attack was rushed. He had no idea we were arriving here and so he rashly attacked us without knowing of our powers." Uyagiri explained. "So what now?" Kotone asked. "Well, I didn't think we would find anything suspicious this early but this seems to be the area where I've been sensing unusual and faint soul signatures. Now it's out of our hands. I'll inform the Knights to look into this but we've found enough here. Let's go back to the Nirvana Ordinis." Uyagiri explained.

[Later]

After wrapping up their unexpectedly short investigation, the three went their separate ways with Kotone going back to her dorm located in Class-B's block. Arriving at her dorm and going inside, Kotone noticed a letter on her welcome mat. "What's this?" Kotone asked as she picked the envelope up and opened it to see what's inside. Taking the enclosed letter out and reading it, Kotone was now given the information about the next exam. "So now it's one-on-one battles huh? Good... This'll be easy." Kotone smirked confidently.

-Meanwhile-

Within an unknown location that is a well-lit room with almost no type of furnishings, two familiar individuals stand while having a conversation. The two individuals were Kuro and Shiratori, with Shiratori leaning against the pale yellow wall with his arms crossed and Kuro sitting upon a long, black leather couch leaning towards the front with his fingers interlocked and his forearms resting upon his legs. Of course Kuro's expression is accompanied by his signature grin. "So you decided to have him move things ahead already...?" Shiratori asked with an impassive expression.

"Yes... And they don't expect a thing... Though that particularly annoying professor thinks he might be on to something, he's actually quite blissfully unaware of the actual dangers that lie ahead..." Kuro replied.

"And the failed experiment...?" Shiratori asked.

"Don't worry... I have someone taking care of that as we speak..." Kuro replied.

"Not that I care, but don't you think you're moving ahead with the plan too early...?" Shiratori asked.

Hearing that, Kuro gave a slight, ominous chuckle. "Well then... Call me impatience..." Kuro replied.

-Meanwhile-

Within a dark hospital room, Shin lies unconscious on a bed in his patient's robe, though his body was covered by the sheets. Sunlight seeps through a single, slightly opened window. The gentle breeze coming through that opened window caused the pale yellow curtains to blow calmly towards the right. Suddenly, the shadow of an approaching figure looms over the unconscious Shin. The figure stood hidden in the dark shadow that covered the right side of the room.

After running for a while the three had finally arrived at the area where they had first sensed the soul signatures. To their surprise it was a huge crater. Tatsuya was no exception from the astonishment the other two felt. He quickly shook his head to get his thoughts straight again and merely began to scoff. "I've made bigger than that." He hadn't really but it was hard to tell with all the craters he's made after or while destroying so many things. Kotone was the first to say anything. "I think the only huge ass here is yours."

Uyagiri then asked if she had felt anything different. Kotone didn't seem to realize at first but the soul signature had disappeared. He hadn't noticed it either. His attention had been taken away by the crater as well and since his soul detection skills weren't very good to begin with it made things even easier. A discussion arose about the crater and Uyagiri figured it must have held something. "I'm more interested in what made the crater in the first place."

Suddenly Uyagiri used a holy verse that created a barrier. This caught Tatsuya off guard at first but he relaxed a bit after it blocked what seemed like a flash of silver. Everything else but what was inside the barrier was destryed and luckily they were inside it. Tatsuya looked over to the direction the flash had come from and caught a glimpse of somebody going into the bushes. Tatsuya was already reaching for his swords until Uyagiri told them to basically not even bother."Fine, I'd like slaughter something other than those sh*tty skeltons but I don't want to miss anything BREPT related. You tend to suck at anything time-related."

-Later-

After arriving back at the academy they quickly seperated. Mainly due to Tatsuya and Kotone not wanting to be near the other and Uyagiri any longer than they already have. Or at least that's what Tatsuya's logic behind it was. Arriving at the dorm to his room he noticed something taped to the door. It was an envelope. "Looks a little plain to be a love letter. Or some girl is getting smart and figured out I won't burn it instantly if it looked like one."

Tatsuya took the envelope off his door, along with the tape, and walked inside. After taking a seat at his desk he opened up the letter and began to read it. After a little bit of reading he mumbled to himself, "So they're changing things? I should probably summon Umbra and tell him." After reading for a little bit longer he began to laugh. "All I have to do is beat up some wimp one on one? I almost feel bad for that person. He...or she will be slaughtered."

Minawe was really getting into the spirit of fighting, and was quite pumped even though they had only got started. So she was putting her all into her attacks, and because of that she only noticed that Isa wasn't attempting to move or anything until the second right before her attack landed. While she did attempt to dile down the power, it didn't make much of a difference due to the fact that she was putting her entire effort to win into it. When the attack ended Minawe was instantly by his side trying to help him up, "H-hey Aruki are you alright!?" When he didn't say anything - though she only gave him a second to try and respond - Minawe began shaking him back and forth, which probably wasn't helping matters "Come on wake up! Don't die on me!!"

Not long later Tsukihana and the nurse from earlier made a sudden appearance. While Tsukihana wasn't really put off by them training, the nurse seemed really disheartened that they didn't follow her instructions which of course made Minawe feel bad. "We just didn't feel like sitting in one place, especially with the next exam being in only two days. Aruki back me up her-Oh..." She mumbled when she noticed he was passed out. "..Perhaps we should have just stayed in the room...."

[Later]

After a quick treatment given by Tsukihana, the three of them were led to a private office and were seated on a leather couch, with Minawe in the middle. Surprisingly Tsukihana began with a light scolding of Isa's and Minawe's lack of consideration for their health, causing Minawe to blush in embarressment. Rei, being exempted from the scolding simply smirked finding the scene to be amusing. The scolding ended with Tsukihana admitting that he was once hot-blooded in thinking.

"You hot-blooded?" Rei mumbled simultaniously with Isa, unable to believe it himself.

Isa then confessed that it was all his idea to go train, which lead to Tsukihana lightly teasing him about losing to Minawe rather easily with him behind one of the strongest 3 in the A-Class. Minawe heard his embaressed mumbled, and quickly said, "You shouldn't think about that, besides the only reason I won was because of your injuries. I had help from Rei, who has self regenerating abilities...So really it was a handicapped fight...." The subject was soon discarded, which Tsukihana explaining that the Obsticle Course exam was canceled.

"Canceled? How come?" Minawe asked. Rei was also interested, as was noticed by the way he wasn't slouching in his chair.

He told them that, instead they would skip to the next portion of the BREPT which was a series of one-on-one battles. Luckily it was in 1 week, which game Minawe ample enough time to train. After explaining that Tsukihana turned his focus to Minawe, telling her about the rules in her case with Rei. Hearing the Minawe looked down. If Lumi continued to not appear when she tried to summon him, then Rei would be her only option. Otherwise, her chances of winning a fight would be slim to none. Perhaps she could ask Prof. Uyagiri if there was something wrong with the portal she was trying to open. Maybe she was just doing something wrong...They were given permission to leave afterwards. Isa was the first to leave. Minawe stood, Rei doing the same.

"Thanks for letting us know Tsukihana-sama. I suppose, I'll see you later." Rei nodded his goodbye, following after Minawe once she left, both of them heading to their respective rooms.

CHAPTER 25: THIRD PART - BROKEN BLADES BLUES
With the investigation ending in a seemingly successful outcome, Tatsuya, Uyagiri, and Kotone return to the Nirvana Ordinis. However, Uyagiri still has a feeling of uncertainty about what they have discovered. During this time, Tsukihana explained to Minawe, Rei, and Isa about the cancellation of the obstacle forest exam, moving onto the battle exams to which the other BREPT participants are informed of through letters. Meanwhile, other darker matters transpired. With the battle exams beginning in a week, the participants converge for the next meeting to discover who they'll be facing in the exams.
Staring intently at the unconscious Shin, the mysterious figure makes his move. Stepping closer and into the sunlight, the bottom portion of the individual's face was revealed. Lifting his hand up, the individual appears as if he was about to snap his fingers. "High-" Before he could finish what he about to say however, the door was suddenly sliced diagonally in half and fell forward onto the ground. It was then revealed to be Kinsei who had sliced the door in half with his Bane of Purgatory. Not wasting any time, Kinsei proceeded to fire off a small wave of blue flames at the individual, swinging the Bane of Purgatory with one hand. As fast as it was fired, the wave of blue flames made contact with its target. Kinsei then proceeded to turn on the lights to see who it was.

As the lights were turned on, it was revealed that the small wave of blue flames had impacted a shield-like wall that was created from maroon-colored, pixelated soul energy. Seeing this, Kinsei surprisingly kept his cool. "I had a hunch it would be you." Kinsei proclaimed. "Is that so?" the figure replied just as the pixelated shield de-materialized to reveal Jenos, flaunting a calm smile on his face. "So that bastard Kuro did get to you..." Kinsei said. "Hmm, Kuro got to me? Are you saying that he brainwashed me?" Jenos asked in reply. Kinsei did not answer but simply placed his other hand onto the Bane of Purgatory's handle, ready to fight. "I see... No need to answer then, I can tell by the expression on your face. If it makes you happy then yes, I was brainwashed by Kuro, but it doesn't matter now. This power that he gave to me, it's worth it." Jenos replied.

"So he told you to come here and kill Shin is that right?" Kinsei asked. Jenos did not answer but continued to stare at Kinsei with his calm smile, reminiscent to what Kuro does at times. "No answer huh? I'll take that as a yes." Kinsei said. "Who said I don't have an answer? I simply just don't want to answer that question." Jenos proclaimed. "Either way it doesn't matter. Now, you're gonna take me to where the bastard Kuro is hiding and I'm gonna kill him, got it?" Kinsei commanded. Suddenly, a nurse arrived at the room and was shocked to find what was happening. "What's going on here? Why is the door slashed in half?" the nurse asked. "Oh, it's just a misunderstanding. I-I'm sorry." Jenos answered.

"Hmm, what do you mean?" the nurse asked. "Y-You see, I came here to visit my friend, Shin, and then Kinsei here arrived and thought he heard something suspicious going on in here and so he cut down the door in the heat of the moment... I's all a big misunderstanding, sorry miss..." Jenos explained. "Is that true?" the nurse asked Kinsei. Sheathing his sword, Kinsei then turn to the nurse. "Uhh, yeah, it was my bad. Shin's my cousin so naturally I was worried about him. I'm actually here to sign his release forms so I can bring him home. Don't worry, I'll pay for the damages." Kinsei explained. "I see, and for a minute there I thought you kids were fighting." the nurse replied. "I-I wouldn't fight Kinsei, he's my friend. Anyways... I'm sorry for causing Kinsei to cut down the door... I should be going now... And don't worry Kinsei, I'll pay for it..." Jenos said.

After that, Jenos left the room. Time seemed to pause for a moment as Jenos passed Kinsei, and while usually, Kinsei wouldn't let this kind of thing go, this time around, Kinsei kept quiet. After Jenos had left, Kinsei stood there quietly for a moment before the nurse began to talk. "Umm, so do you want those release forms?" the nurse asked, snapping Kinsei out of his quiet state. "Huh? Uhh, yeah, please." Kinsei replied. Hearing that, the nurse left the room to go retrieve the forms. "(That was a close call... Damn you Kuro... Just wait until I get the chance to face you alone...)" Kinsei thought.

[The Next Day]

It was a quiet afternoon in Norvea City. Classes were over about three hours earlier with Jenos not appearing in class due to him being hospitalized though Kinsei knew that Jenos is completely fine. After bringing Shin, Kinsei spent the rest of the day yesterday training. It's been two days and Shin has yet to awaken though his condition was stable and was allowed to be taken home by Kinsei. The next BREPT meeting was in an hour and like all the other contestants who recieved their letters, Kinsei was also informed of the changes in the BREPT. Putting on his jacket, Kinsei was ready to go to the meeting. After Jenos' attempted murder of Shin, Kinsei, using his knowledge of dark magic that he had learned when he was still in Abaddon, Kinsei created an invisible barrier surrounding Shin's room.

After leaving, Kinsei then proceeded to the Nirvana Ordinis Academy for the meeting. Arriving in about half and hour or so, Kinsei went to the meeting room to see that most of the contestants have already arrived including Jenos to Kinsei's surprise. Jenos looked at Kinsei with a calm smile. Not saying anything, Kinsei sat down at where he usually sits. Isa was already there and as usual, was excited for the meeting. Isa wanted to see who he would be match with, and secretly, he wanted to fight Tatsuya since Tatsuya is currently ranked number two within the entire Class-C, behind Tsukihana. Though Kinsei would beg to differ. Kinsei is ranked sixth, behind both Minawe and Shota. Though it's mostly due to his poor grades and only adequate mission performances.

"Yo Kinsei, you feeling any better?" Isa asked with a wide grin. "What the hell does that mean? I'm not the one who ended up in the hospital remember?" Kinsei replied. "So you are feeling better. Good. Looks like our arch-nemesis has yet to arrived." Isa said, referring to Kuro. After saying that, Shiratori and Masanori walked in and quietly proceeded to their seats. Passing Isa, Isa proceeded to greet the two. "Hey guys, how's it going?" Isa asked with a smile and with a wave. However, Shiratori and Masanori simply gave Isa the cold shoulder by not answering and just sitting down. Slowly retracting his arm and his smile disappeared from his face seeing the two growing more distant from him. Seeing this, Kinsei crossed his arms. "What's up with those two?" Kinsei asked. "Don't know... Maybe they just want to focus on the BREPT and that's why they've been acting so distant lately." Isa suggested.

Next, Kuro arrived. "Hello everyone! I'm excited for this meeting to begin!" Kuro said with a friendly smile before taking his seat. "Well there he is..." Isa said, his expression turning serious. Kinsei did not say anything and simply stared at Kuro with a serious expression for a moment.

After classes had ended Tatsuya had spent his time training. He made sure to take a shower as to not smell like sh*t when he got to the meeting though. While training he had completely lost track of time and was now running to the meeting room while still getting dressed. He didn't realize he was low on time until he had gotten out of the shower and was putting on most of his clothes while sprinting to the meeting. He had at least made sure to be wearing pants when he left his room. When he got to the door he stopped. Tatsuya then simply adjusted his tie and walked in.

Looking around Tatsuya noticed that a few others weren't even there yet and he wasn't late or had just made it in time. Looking at theclock in the room he realized he was a little bit early. His rush here was completely pointless. Well he tried to avoid as many people as possible and at the speed he was running at not many people probably noticed anything. He found his seat and sat down, impatiently waiting for any others to arrive and for things to get started.

Once classes for the day was over Minawe spent the time thinking of new strategies for the up-coming battle test. So far her and Rei's training was coming along great. While they hadn't done any practice in their possession state yet, their teamwork otherwise was improving greatly. Before she knew it, it was time for the BREPT meeting, and like always Minawe had to drag Rei over to the room.

"Evening everyone!" She exclaimed as she slammed open the door. She noticed she was the last to arrive, but even so it didn't damper her mood.

She took her normal seat, with Rei sitting beside her. "You two are looking much better." She directed towards Isa and Kensei. "Glad to see that."

"Hey there Minawe. Yep, I'm all better after getting some food in my stomach. Oh, and my legs are feeling much better now too. Hope you're recovering too Minawe because I have a feeling that these one on one battles will be tough." Isa replied. Kinsei crossed his arms and an expression of lighthearted annoyance formed on his face after hearing what Minawe had said. "I'm thinking that you're forgetting the fact that you two were the ones who ended up in the hospital... Not me..." Kinsei scoffed. "I don't know Kinsei that well but I think he's back to his old self." Isa smiled. Finally, after the examiners finished discussing a few things in private, Sugito then approached the front end of the long, wood, table to address the participants. After clearing his throat and placing his arms behind his back, Sugito began to speak. "Now, as you all have been informed, the obstacle forest exam has been stopped due to unforeseen circumstances. However, that will not halt the progress of the BREPT. Which now brings us to the discussion of the recently announced battle exams." Sugito paused as a hand was raised.

Looking to Kuro, who had raise his hand, Sugito began to talk. "Do you have a question or concern?" Sugito asked. "Yeah, umm, what happened that made you guys cancel the obstacle forest exam?" Kuro asked curiously. "I'm sorry but that information is confidential. However, I can assure you that everything is being taken care of by the Knights." Sugito replied. "Of course the Knights are handling the situation... There are no other exorcist groups that are more fitting to complete such a task with competence..." Masanori proclaimed proudly. Hearing this, Tsukihana approached the table. "I have to disagree with you Masanori. I's not that the Knights are the only one that can do it, it's because is their duty. Do not insult other exorcists with your biased pride for the Knights." Tsukihana stated. The way Tsukihana had addressed Masanori was as if he knew Masanori personally. Hearing what Tsukihana had said about the Knights, Masanori became agitated. "Watch your mouth Tsukihana..." Masanori replied threateningly. "Ahem!" Sugito grunted to stop the arising conflict between the two.

"My apologies Prof. Sugito..." Tsukihana said before backing down. "Humph..." Masanori closed his eyes, crossed his arms, and grunted. "Hey Isa, what's up with that? You know Masanori so does he have some kinda problem with Tsukihana or what?" Kinsei whispered. "Well, you might not know this but Tsukihana used to be in Class-A with Masanori. They don't like each other very much as you can see. Masanori is always boasting about how the Knights are the strongest exorcists and Tsukihana would always argue that no matter what rank a person holds, they can be strong." Isa explained. Getting back to the meeting at hand, Sugito began to speak again. "Now as I was saying-" Before Sugito could continue any further, Kuro interrupted. "Wait, I still don't understand what's the big problem with telling us what had happened to cancel the obstacle forest exam. I mean, keeping information about the exam from the participants doesn't seem right to be honest." Kuro stated.

"This isn't a matter that you need to be concerning yourselves about. Just focus on the task at hand." Sugito replied. "Well, as B-Rank exorcists we should be able to adapt and get necessary information that we need on a mission. But you know, I don't want to get kicked out of the competition so I guess I'll just keep my mouth shut." Kuro replied. "(How f*cking annoying...)" Kotone thought. "(Looks like none of these fools even know what's going on... Good... Stay blissfully ignorant until it's too late...)" Kuro thought.

"Very well then. Now to move on. The battle exams will be a series of one on one battles with the loser of each battle being eliminated from the final exam after the battle exams. However, this does not disqualify a person from being able to be promoted to a B-Rank exorcist. The performance of each participant of the battle exams will be taken into account and if they managed to impress the examiners, then they will have a chance of becoming B-Rank exorcists. The facility that participants will battle in is an underground training area that has been Verse-modified so that it can repair itself. A twist to each battle is the setting of the area will be modified every time. This will set handicaps and will really test each participants ability to adapt. And for those who think that they can analyze the field for their advantage in their battle, you are sadly mistaken..." Sugito paused to allow for the information to sink in.

"Now, the letter has enclosed information stating that these battles are open for viewing only for participants and it is solely based on each participant whether they would like to attend the battles or not. It is not a requirement to attend each battle. At the end of this meeting, each of you will be given a special Verse-modified key that will allow you to access the facility that the battles will take place in. Now for the fun part..." Sugito said before pausing. "Tsukihana now will be announcing the battles and the setting that the battle will take place in. Tsukihana." Sugito called to which Tsukihana approached the table with a list.

"Please listen carefully for your names and setting, along with any special conditions of the battle." Tsukihana said. "First battle will be Isa versus-"

"(C'mon, let it be Tatsuya! The second toughest person in Class-C versus me, the third strongest person in Class-A!)" Isa hoped right after he heard his name being said by Tsukihana.

"Minawe!" Tsukihana finished. Hearing that, Isa's jaw almost fell to the ground. "W-What?! Against Minawe???!!!" Isa asked. Hearing his own outburst, Isa slowly sat back down. "S-Sorry for that..." Isa apologized. "(I'm up against Minawe?! That's the last thing I wanted!)" Isa thought to himself. Clearing his throat, Tsukihana began to speak again. "As I was saying, the first battle will be Isa versus Minawe and the setting will be an open field where you two can fight freely with no special conditions." Tsukihana informed. "Just... Great..." Isa muttered.

"The next battle will be Shota versus Kuro! This battle will take place in a forest setting with limited trees. However, the special condition for this battle is that the battle will take place in extremely low light, effectively making your sight almost completely useless in the battle." Tsukihana explained. "Extremely low light huh...? Hah! Bring it on! I can make my own light, and I'm gonna wipe the floor with this guy!" Shota excitedly exclaim, pointing at Kuro. "I wish you good luck Shota." Kuro smiled. "(Damn it, I wanted to take care of this a**hole myself!)" Kinsei thought frustratingly but kept his cool. "(F*ck! Just my damn luck!)" Kotone thought angrily, almost wanting to slam her fist into the table.

"The next battle will be Kotone versus Shiratori! The battle will take place in a setting with many raised pillars and platforms, and the special condition of the battle is that you cannot touch the ground below or you will automatically lose the battle." Tsukihana explained. Kotone then eyed Shiratori intently. "(This is the guy who's got some problem with that prick Tatsuya. Heh, this'll be interesting, at least until I break his damn legs.)" Kotone thought. Shiratori simply kept quiet.

"The next battle will be Tatsuya versus Masanori! The battle will take place in a city setting with Verse-modified dolls that will act as panicking civilians. The special condition for this battle is the person who can defeat their opponent the fastest and cause the least amount of damage to the setting. If one of you defeats your opponent but effectively destroyed more of the setting than your opponent, then the battle will instead result in a tie with both participants being kicked out of the final exam. Also, you must avoid harming the panicking civilians." Tsukihana explained. "Damn, looks like you got the toughest challenge of all Tatsuya." Kinsei commented. "I will win this battle for the Knights." Masanori proclaimed.

Kinsei then looked to Jenos. "(Now that leaves us two... Not Kuro but he did try to kill Shin. Guess he'll make do until I get my hands on that bastard.)" Kinsei thought. Jenos simply looked away in an expression of shyness.

"Finally, the last battle is Kinsei versus Jenos! The setting of the battle will be a heavy bamboo forest that will limit maneuverability. The special condition of this battle is that it's also a race. You must be able to defeat your opponent then escape from the forest within a time limit or else the battle will result in a draw with both contestants being excluded from the final exam." Tsukihana explained. "Damn... Looks like things won't be as easy as I thought..." Kinsei muttered.

Tatsuya sat there for a while not bothering to get involved with the conversation the others were having. He just waited there until Sugito walked into the room. "Finally. I was about to throw a desk at somebody out of boredom." Tatsuya didn't care for the information about the destruction of the obstacle course. It's not that he disliked Umbra or anything like that but he'd much rather be kicking the ass of some poor unlucky sap then going through some lame obstacle course with him.

The conversation continued for a little bit longer which left Tatsuya a bit annoyed. As usual he didn't want to spend any more time with the idiots in the room with him than what was absolutely needed. Things did get a bit interesting though. Masanori had boasted about the knights and Tsukihana basically owned him with his own comment. "When did pretty boy learn to dish it out like that. I kind of want to applaud him for that. Seriously though, when did he do things like that? Hell, Rei and I hate him yet he's never said things like that." He was able to hear Isa telling Kinsei about the relationship between the two. "Pretty boy is able to not like somebody?"

Eventually the topic got back to the exam that they were going to do which once again stopped Tatsuya from throwing his desk at somebody. After ahearing the first bit about the exam Tatsuya thought to himself. "Wait, so I actually get to kick the ass of one of these bastards in here? Christmas came early for me!" It may have also been an early Christmas for anybody who avoided getting a desk thrown at him. Which most likely would have been Shota. He didn't care too much for the rest. He just thought that all he really needed to do was win. That seemed like enough to show off to the judges.

Tsukihana began to list off the matches. Strangely enough after Isa's name was called off Tatsuya let out a silent sneeze. "That was odd. A cute girl must be thinking about me." It was soon follwed by Minawe. "I can skip that match. No real reason I should other than for the fact that it's the first match but again, no real point. He did say different maps and conditions." The next match was Shota and Kuro. "That Kuro douchebag and the lame ass Shota. That match will probably be lame as hell. It'd just be a match to see who's a bigger wimp." The third match was Kotone and Shiratori. "The b*tch tranny and the dumbass prick. Probably the most interesting fight so far but not like either of the two can beat me. And if I do go then it'd probably just turn into them trying to kill me or something and I need to save my energy for my match."

The fifth match was his and his opponent was Masanori. "So I get payback for interrupting my fight and I get to beat the sh*t out of a prideful prick? This will be a fun slaughter." He seemed happy about his fight and was okay with the map until he heard the special condition. It felt like his heart was in his throat for a minute. "W-What?! I'll have to be careful with my attacks as to not destroy anything or very much. Even I know I'm f*cked." Hearing the responses from the others he continued to think to himself. "And they know it too." He looked at his enemy, Masanori. "I'm not worried about him but just limiting myself so much will be a hassle." Looking at his opponent he remembered a two things. One a few minutes and the other a few days. "I guess I don't need to limit myself that much."

The final two were Kinsei and Jenos. "Eh, not much interest here." The fights were all set and it seemed like the only question now was when the exams would start. Tatsuya was most likely going to avoid the matches unless he found some good reason to.

Minawe giggled slightly at both Isa and Kensei as she got two completely different answers from them. When the meeting officially started, Sugito began with explaining that the obsticle course was cancelled. Kuro was the oneto inturrupt him and ask if the reason for it could be told. More taking ensued, which also incuded Tsukihana putting masanori in his place. It was a bit surprising since Tsukihana had never really spoke to anyone in such a mannor. Isa explained Tsukihana's and Masanori's connection on Kensei's question. Afterwards the match-ups for the one-on-one battles were told.

The first one was Minawe and Isa. Luckily their battle field was an open space and no limitations. Minawe smiled at Isa, "Looks like it's fate that we go up against each other. Good luck-"

Minawe was suddenly bonked on the head by Rei, "Dont wish good luck to the opponent."

"But he's not an opponent, he's Aruki!" Sugito named the rest of the opponents. It was pretty funny that Tatsuya was given the limitation of having the least amount of surrouning damage. It would definately be a challenge for him. Especially with his opponent being Masanori. Other than their fight, Kuro was against Shota, Kotone against Shiatori, and Kensei against Jenos. Minawe was planning on going to watch every fight, and be supportive as always.

Rei, however, was already thinking up plans and strategies for going up aganst Isa.

Minawe's attempt at wish good luck to Isa was stopped by Rei when he bonked Minawe on the head. "It's understandable that you're viewing me as an enemy Rei... But... I wanna wish you two good luck anyways." Isa smiled while giving Minawe and Rei a thumbs up. However, things played out differently in Isa's thoughts. "(Crap, crap, crap, crap! I can't go all out against Minawe! Damn, I was hoping on using my true powers against another opponent to show off to Minawe but now thing's have take a turn for the worst! What am I suppose to do now???!!!)" Isa thought to himself while he was smiling and giving the thumbs up to Minawe and Rei. After proclaiming that he will win his battle for the Knights, Masanori began to stare intently at Tatsuya, almost as if he was studying him. "(Tatsuya Takeda... Labeled as the second most powerful exorcist of Class-C... You have no chance of winning, not against me...)" Masanori thought. In a single instant, Masanori's jade green-colored eyes seem to glow brightly as he continued to watch Tatsuya.

Looking over to Masanori, Isa saw a familiar expression on his face. Masanori's expression showed that he was serious about the fight, and to Isa and Shiratori, a serious Masanori is a dangerous Masanori. "(Tatsuya... You got Masanori as your opponent... I do not envy your position right now because you're up against the strongest exorcist of Class-A... You better have a game plan when you go into this battle or else I can guarantee that you won't make it passed the five minute mark...)" Isa thought. After awhile, Masanori closed his eyes again. Isa then looked over to see Rei in deep thought, possibly already thinking of a strategy to defeat Isa. This surprised Isa quite a bit. "(Odd. I thought Rei was the lazy guy but it looks like he's even more of a dangerous opponent than I thought. But I really don't want to use my true strength against Minawe...)" Isa thought. "(So it seems that demon has gotten the short straw and drew Masanori as his opponent... No matter, the one who will kill that demon in the end will still be me...)" Shiratori thought as he glared at Tatsuya.

Shiratori then turned his sights back onto Kotone. "(This one was also trained by Uyagiri... And judging by how she's acting, she's basically the same as that other demon...)" Shiratori thought. "The f*ck you look at a**hole?" Kotone asked Shiratori in an annoyed tone. "Humph..." Shiratori grunted, intimidated by Kotone's tone. "(This Kuro guy is really getting on my nerves... Just look at 'em is getting me angry! Arrg, I wanna punch him in the face right now!)" Shota thought. Rikka kept quiet but she knew something was off about Kuro. "(I wonder if this Kuro is hiding his real soul energy... It seems weak now but...)" Rikka thought. Kuro simply didn't give even a single thought to his opponents as if they were mere ants.

After announcing the battles, Tsukihana stepped back and Sugito once again stepped forward to the front of the table. "With the battles now announced, the first battle will be six days from now starting at three in the afternoon, two hours after regular classes. Participants must arrived fifteen minutes before three. After the first battle, each other battle will be two days apart." Sugito explained then took a pause as two male exorcists approached the table and began handing out silver keys to each participant. "These are the Verse-modified keys that will grant you access to the battle facility located underground. The entrance leading underground is located between rooms D-6 and D-7. It may look like a regular wall, but with these special keys, you will be able to open the entrance leading underground to the facility. Do not lose these keys." Sugito explained. Taking the key, Kinsei began to examine it. "Looks like any normal key to me..." Kinsei muttered.

"Finally, I will now announced the examiners of these battle exams. Prof. Sakihara, exorcism professor of Class-A, Prof. Uyagiri, Verse professor of Class-C, and Tsukihana Nagashima, B-Rank exorcist of Class-C." Sugito announced. Uyagiri and Tsukihana are familiar faces but then a young female professor, looking about in her early twenties, stepped towards the table. The female professor has long, brownish blonde hair with two sections of her hair resting on her shoulders and the longest section of her hair on the back adorned with a silver clip with a cross on it. She was dressed in standard female exorcist attire, and a notable physical feature about her is that her breasts are rather large. She was none other than the exorcism professor of Class-A, Shiyo Sakihara. "I wish all of you guys the best of luck in your battles!" Shiyo smiled and gave a thumbs up, showing her cheery deposition all the while her breasts were slightly bouncing, though she was oblivious to it. "(W-What the hell...)" Kinsei comically thought as he noticed Shiyo's sex appeal. Tsukihana stood with his eyes closed though he was blushing and Uyagiri on the hand was staring at Shiyo the whole time.

"Ahem, I know it's your first time being involved in the BREPT but please conduct yourself with professionalism instead of cheering the participants on..." Sugito told Shiyo. "Huh? Oh, I'm sorry." Shiyo quickly stood back out of embarrassment, and as she quickly moved back, her breasts were bouncing. "(W-What's is up with her...?)" Kinsei thought while he was still blushing. Isa covered his eyes with his hand but it was apparent he was blushing as well. "Umm, Uyagiri-senpai, why are you blushing?" Shiyo asked Uyagiri quietly, oblivious of her sex appeal's affect on people. "O-Oh, it's nothing..." Uyagiri replied.

"With that, this meeting is concluded. All of you may now leave." Sugito told the students.

((Make sure you don't show them leaving to their rooms but just walking out the door and into the hall))

There was already quite a bit of tention in the room, mostly with Masanori practically glaring at Tatsuya. But with Minawe being who she is, she didn't notice it at all and stayed pretty happy. Rei was still deep in thought, oblivious to everyone else's behavior, 'From what I remember Isa uses wind as a weapon. That alone is a power ability, but he also has unbelievable strength. Any sort of direct hit from him would be enough to stun us for a good while. Certaintly long enough for him to come with another attack. He's also pretty quick, even with his injuries last time he was pretty fast. Fully healed, it may be hard to land a direct hit. Luckily, it may be possible to nutralize the effects of his wind and speed. We have a lot of training a head of of us.' Rei's thoughts were temporarily put on hold when a silver key was placed on the table he and Minawe sat at, with the latter picking up the key and examining it.

"Thats pretty cool.." Minawe mumbled listening to the explination of the key.

Both tuned back to the front when the examiners was being introduced. Uyagiri, and Tsukihana were already known, but the last examiner was a new face. Shiyo Sakihara. She was beautiful in every sense of the word. Prof. Sakihara gave a cheerful thumbs-up and wished them luck, her breast bouncing. Minawe of course either didn't notice or didn't care. What she did notice however was, "Why is everyone blushing..." When she looking at Rei, even he was looking off to the side trying, and failing, to his blushing face. Moments after that the meeting was dismissed, and Minawe stood along with Rei and left the room. "Prof. Ōkina seemse really nice." Hearing what Mianwe called her, Rei's face turned even redder.

"R-r-right....N-nice..."

Minawe wondered what was wrong with Rei, but instead turned to face Isa, "Aruki I just wanted to say one last thing to you. Don't hold back ok? I want you to do your absolute best to win the fight, because if you don't then I won't be able to do my best either. Besides it would be unfair if I won because you were holding back, and to be honest it would be embarressing if you really believed that would need a handicap. So promise me you won't hold anything back in our fight." Minawe finished by holding out her hand with her pinky finger out. "Pinky promise."

Tatsuya had already stopped looking over at Masanori when he started looking at him. He was completely oblivious to the look he was getting from him. "This fight won't be easy. Hell, it'll probably be harder than the fight against Rednocte." Images of how Masanori so easily blocked his attack popped up into his head. "He blocked that attack with such ease. That was hardly all he had in him if it was so easy for him. The same could be said about me. That attack was hardly using much of my power. If he doesn't realize that then I can go in with an advantage there. Of course I don't need it though." He turned his head to Kinsei. "Hey Kinsei! I hope you don't mind if I kick the sh*t out of your Class-A enemy. I'll leave something for you."

Sugito soon moved back to the front of the table. He gave out a key to everybody and told them when the battles would take place. "My fight is in 18 days. I need to be there fifteen minutes between three. Sounds simple enough." Finally he began to introduce the examiners. Two of which he already knew but the third was a complete mystery to him. He never met the person but from what Sugito announced she was the exorcism professor for Class-A. He looked at the woman in the room. "That must be Sakihara. Uyagiri must be having a field day checking her out." A quick glance at Uyagiri revealed that he was. "Old pervert."

There was no denying that Sakihara was indeed very hot. Tatsuya just seemed to have better control over his hormones than the others. At least it seemed that was until Sakihara's boobs jiggled. A small amount of blood came out of his nose. "Great. I spend way too much time with Uyagiri." He wiped the blood onto jacket's sleeve. "Her boobs may be even bigger than Kotone and Minawe's combined." As she walked and her boobs jiggled more more blood came out of his nose. He wiped his nose with his sleeve even more. "Good thing my jacket is black. Makes the blood less noticable. I just hope nobody noticed that."

After the meeting was over, Isa stood up and walked out. Once his face was finally back to normal after blushing, Minawe then approached him. "(Huh, Minawe...?)" Isa thought as he looked back at her. Minawe then explained to Isa that she didn't want him to hold back in their fight, and that it would be embarrassing if Isa thought she was weak and couldn't hold her own against him when he's giving it his all. At the end, Minawe wanted Isa to pinky promise her that he won't hold back in their fight. Isa looked at Minawe's hand, unable to respond. "(She wants me to go all out...? But I'm afraid that I might go overboard when using my true strength...)" Isa thought. There was a moment of silence, but then, Isa made a move. Isa then extended his pinky out towards Minawe's pinky. Once he got close enough, he hesitated a bit but finally he wrapped his pinky around Minawe's. "(But I guess I'll just have to put some faith in Minawe...)" Isa thought before a slight smiled formed on his face.

"I hope I'll be able to give you and Rei a good battle." Isa said as his smiled turned into a happy grin. "(You know, this only makes me like Minawe even more now. Maybe I should ask for that date...)" Isa thought. "Hey Minawe..." Isa began. Isa's heart beat began racing faster than usual. This wasn't like any of his other attempt to ask Minawe out on a date. This time Isa actually felt really nervous for some reason. Isa's pause began to prolonged as the words couldn't escape his mouth.

Finally, Isa began to say something. "P-Promise me that you'll become an A-Rank exorcist one day..." Isa suddenly said. "(By then, maybe I'll have the courage to...)" Isa thought.

On Tatsuya side of things, Kinsei and Kotone suddenly approached him, and right away, Kinsei noticed something was off about him. "You know, if I didn't know any better I would say that your nose was bleeding right? I wonder why..." Kinsei teased, knowing why Tatsuya's nose was bleeding. "Anyways, you have your work cut off for you with your opponent being that other prideful idiot. See ya." Kinsei said before walking off. Right before Kinsei walked outside, he looked back at Tatsuya. "Hey Tatsuya, Kotone, you two better not lose your battles cause I wanna be the one to kick both of your asses after I take care of that Kuro bastard..." Kinsei said and then left. Hearing what Kinsei had said, Kotone got a bit annoyed. "As if I would lose to that Shiratori prick. Though you," Kotone turned to Tatsuya, "you'll probably get your ass handed to you seeing as how you're f*cking weak as sh*t." Kotone insulted.

"I know, maybe you can bore your opponent to death with your lame ass bluffs." Kotone suggested. Suddenly, Uyagiri walked over to the two of them. "Well, well, looks like you two got the really tough opponents. Kotone is facing Shiratori who's ranked second strongest in Class-A while Tatsuya is going up against Masanori who's ranked strongest in Class-A, not to mention the special condition in your battle Tatsuya." Uyagiri said. "Heh, what a joke. I'll win my battle easily but as for this prick, yeah, I don't think he'll be able to win his battle with his style of over the top fighting." Kotone proclaimed. "That's why you two are going to be training with me for your battles." Uyagiri suddenly said.
