Lord Smeagle
For whatever reason, I feel like the new OCG in 5D's is rather forced... Tribute Summon = Advance Summon Tribute = Release Life Points = points etc. Was the idea to make the series more "kid-friendly?" Because I was under the impression that GX was supposed to do that, and that series was perfectly fine with the old terminology.

Guest PikaPerson01
And BTW' date=' the OCG was never changed in such a manner.[/quote'] This. It's still the same in the TCG version of the game. Alot of people in the Realistic Cards Section would like to talk to you. They would only be correct if they're making OCG-only cards. But considering they're in English, I highly doubt that would be the case. On-topic: If I recall correctly, it was done to help the kids. For example, the word "tributed" is one of those words that doesn't actually exist. Whereas release or released are both... actual words.

I would like to direct them to yugioh.wikia and tell them to look at the cards released from The Duelist Genesis onwards. The OCG is unchanged. If it is. Feel free to prove me wrong. [i']Tribute Summon = Advance Summon Tribute = Release Life Points = points etc.[/i] Was the idea to make the series more "kid-friendly?" Because I was under the impression that GX was supposed to do that, and that series was perfectly fine with the old terminology. I don't really like these terms for the following reasons:1. To perform a Tribute Summon, you have to tribute. In order to Advance Summon, you have to release!? 2. Releasing sounds more like summoning a monster than sending a monster to the grave. 3. The word "Life" is kind of necessary in order to differentiate it from ATK points or DEF points. Although the players don't have ATK or DEF points, just saying "points" doesn't sound right. Were there others?
