Right, this is my first YCM set, i am planning on making a few sonic the hedgehog sets each coving different aspects (games, comics and cartoons)

 

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the piece of art used in these cards, most of them i found on deviantART.

 

without further ado here is the first one : Hedgehog legacy

Also known as the Blue Blur, he can travel to speeds immeasurable by the naked eye. He holds the title of "Fastest thing alive".

 

Miles "Tails" Prower

When this card destroys a Machine-Type Monster, you can add 1 Flicky Counter to this card. When this card has 4 Flicky Counters on it you can tribute this card and its counters to Special Summon 1 "Super Tails" from your hand, Deck or Graveyard.

 

Shadow the Hedgehog

Once believed to be the ultimate lifeform, this powerful adversary of Sonic has mastered the art of "Chaos control".

 

Metal Sonic

Dr. Robotniks ultimate machine, designed to kill Sonic once and for all.

 

Metal Sonic - Overlord

This card cannot be Special Summoned or Set except by the effect of "Masters’ Upgrade". While this card is on the field any cards with "Robotnik" or "Eggman" in their card name loses 500 ATK and DEF.

 

Metal Madness

You can Special Summon this card from your hand or Deck by removing one "Metal Sonic - Overlord" from play from the field while there are four or more Machine-Type monsters in the Graveyard. This card loses 300 ATK for every "Super" card on the field.

 

Chao - Child

This Chao is still in its child stage, Chao are said to change dependant on their surroundings.

Super Sonic

This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Seven Emerald Ritual". You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 7 or more as a tribute from the field or your Hand. If this card attacks and destroys a Machine-Type Monster, it may attack once again in a row.

 

Sir Sonic - Knight of the Wind

Once per turn, while you control this face up card, you can search your Deck for an Equip Spell Card and attach it to this card.

 

Dark Spine Sonic

This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Power of the Seven World Rings". Once per turn this card can destroy either one monster or one Spell or Trap card and inflict 300 damage to your opponent’s Life Points. If this effect is activated, this card cannot attack during your Battle Phase this turn.

 

Dr Robotnik

The eternal rival of Sonic the Hedgehog, he has often tried to defeat Sonic but to no avail. He boasts an IQ of around 300.

 

Dr Eggman

While this card is on the field, all face-up Machine-Type monsters gain 500 ATK. If this card was Tribute Summoned using a card that has either "Robotnik" or "Eggman" in its name then all Machine-Type monsters on the field instead gain 800 ATK.

 

Seven Emerald Ritual

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Super Sonic". You must offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 7 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand.

 

Power of the Seven World Rings

Activate only when a "Sonic the Hedgehog" card is sent from the field to the Graveyard. You may now Special Summon one "Dark Spine Sonic" from your hand.

 

Air Board

The equipped monster gains 500 ATK. Also, the equipped monster may change its battle position after the battle phase.

 

Jealousy

Activate only if your opponent has one or more cards that have "Sonic" in their card name on their side of the field. Inflict 300 damage to your opponent’s Life Points for each.

 

Double Team

Activate only when you have a "Sonic" and a "Shadow" card on your side of the field. Both cards gain 500 ATK.

 

Masters' Upgrade

Activate only when "Metal Sonic" is sent to the Graveyard. Instead, remove it from play and Special Summon 1 "Metal Sonic - Overlord" from your hand or Deck.

 

Light Dash

This card can only be equipped to either "Sonic the Hedgehog" or "Shadow the Hedgehog". While this card is on the field you can draw 2 additional cards during your Draw Phase. If this effect is activated, skip your next Draw Phase.

 

Mephiles the Dark

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by having exactly 3 DARK monsters in your Graveyard. At the cost of 1000 Life Points, you can select and destroy 1 "Sonic the Hedgehog" that your opponent controls. If you activate this effect, you cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn.

 

Super Tails

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Miles "Tails" Prower". When this card is Summoned place 4 Flicky Counters on it. While this card has Flicky Counters on it, once per turn you Can destroy 1 card on the field.

I gotta admit, I find it odd that people are always surprised when a one-star member makes good cards. I mean, this is hardly the first place to have ever gotten the idea for making personal Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and it is entirely possible for people to figure out how to do things by lurking for a long while before they actually start posting.

 

That said, these are quite good. There are some things off with your relationship between levels and stats: "Super Sonic" seems more like an 8-star monster, while "Sonic the Hedgehog", "Chao - Hero", and "Chao - Dark" seem more like 3-star monsters.

 

Couple OCG things you may want to switch to before you get too used to doing things the wrong way:

- 'machine type' = 'Machine-Type'

- 'special summoned', 'set', 'summoned', 'deck', 'graveyard', 'battle phase' = all capitalized

- Numbers are usually displayed in digits, so four = 4, one = 1, etc.

- 'side of the field' = 'field' (apparently, 'on your side of the field' = 'you control' now, but I tend to ignore the really new OCG. Honestly, 'Advance Summon'? WTF was the point of that?)

- A couple grammar errors, like 'looses' for 'loses' and some missing punctuation.

 

Again, don't let the critique fool you; I really do think these cards are quite good, and I look forward to seeing more work from you.

^^^^^ A few points that you made in that post i have actually dealt with last night but not uploaded yet as i was shattered hehe. Namely the OCG, changing a couple of effects ever so slightly and boosting sonics ATK and DEF. (and for reference, i made super sonic's level 7 mainly because of the link between there being 7 emeralds and it just sort of fitted together for the purpose of the ritual card). Thanks for the feedback though and i shall see if there is anymore i can just change slightly before i update again.

Big edit today, designed a booster pack for the set (i know the name isnt in a special font, but i didnt have the time to hunt through all the fonts), added Miles "Tails" Prower, Uploaded all the what should be OCG correct versions of card and finally arranged the cards into some sort of order.

Eggman is stronger because he is the older, and more villainous version of robotnik and i wanted to make a card for each to suit the real retro players as there is always the debate of "he's called robotnik!" "no, hes eggman!" etc. lol

 

On a sort of side note, sonic is weaker than eggman because at times eggman has bested sonic, but sonic is stronger than robotnik (atleast now anyway)
