This fanfic is rated PG-13 by the PFFRB

Please limit all posts to something related to the fanfic.

Chapter 9 is up and we finally get another duel. And I hate it. I might expand on the duel later, but this is all I could get. Also, I make fun of myself more in this chapter. ^_^

Ohmygodchapter8hasnoduelunlikewhatIpromiesd. I think it is the longest chapter I have written so far ^_^. It introduces Dawn, probably the only girl at this tournament (keep submitting characters). Also, can Prometheus overcome his low standings? Even I don't know! And can you see where I make fun of myself? Don't post what it is, it is just a game... So yeah, enjoy^_^

As of the end of Volume 1, I notice that not only are most of the chapters short, but there is only one actual duel. Well I will get more than caught up on the duel action in Volume 2 as the tournament begins. ^_^

Since Chapters 5 and 6 have been uploaded, I have to say that chapter 7 will mark the end of volume 1. I know it has a disappointing amount of duel action, but volume 2 will contain all the dueling you will ever need. ^_^

Oh! And about introducing Sill, Frame, and Pane as the Ventana brothers in chapter 6, I wanted to do Chapter 3 differently, but had to scrap the project after realizing that I had no experiance with newspapers. (this makes a lot more sense if you know what I was originally planning)

Yu-Gi-Oh: Gates of Chaos

[spoiler=Volume 1-Street Duels Only Lead to Trouble]

[spoiler=Prologue]

[spoiler=Prologue 1]

~Prologue 1~

Three figures could be seen easily against the rising moon. Their names were Sill, Pane, and Frame. The men had no worry about the disabled alarms and the security guards who were “disposed” of.

“All this for a little slip of paper?” The back most figure, Sill, said.

“Hey,” the leading figure, Pane, said.

There was a brief pause as they reached the door to the lab. It was locked. The middle figure, Frame, stepped to the keypad to the right of the door and started to work the faceplate off.

“Hey” Pane repeated. “Boss says we gotta get this for him, so we gotta get it.”

“But what significance can a children’s game card be?”

“Would you both shut up so I can do this?” Frame had worked the faceplate off and was busy cutting wires. “This pad is on a different, internal security system. One wrong move and we are better off with the guards than Aker.”

Frame picked up the stripped ends of several wires and held them together. The door slowly slid open.

The men walked in and saw their quarry immediately. A large, glass case housing a smaller plastic sleeve with a space only big enough to hold a playing card.

Behind the case stood a massive stone wheel. Strange runes were inscribed along the thin face. Wires going in all directions supported it. Pane walked over to the wheel.

“Aker’s is nicer,” said Pane as he fixed the explosives to the wheel.

Frame cut a hole in the glass and pulled out the card. He slipped it into a small pouch in his pocket. It would be safe there. “That was too easy,” he said.

“Why the hell did you just say that?” asked Sill angrily.

“What do you mean?”

“Murphy’s law, dude. Murphy’s law.”

That was when the timer on the explosives shorted.

[spoiler=Prologue 2]

~Prologue 2~

Prometheus drew a card. “I summon ‘Magical Exemplar’.” He said, laying the card on the duel disc on his arm. The holographic projectors produced the image of a young woman with long black hair and a green cloak over a dress covered in runes.

“Now,” Prometheus held up a card for George to see. “I activate ‘Terraforming’” He inserted the card into the duel disc and a card slid out of the deck slot. “I add ‘Secret Village of the Spellcasters’ to my hand.”

Before the card Prometheus had just played was removed, two spheres with the symbol of a triangle around an eye appeared around “Exemplar”. “I now play my ‘Village’, which gives more Spell Counters to ‘Exemplar’.”

The area around Prometheus and George shifted to a quiet forest village. Green sunlight reached through the leaves and shone upon small buildings made of the landscape itself. Two more spheres orbited around the holographic girl.

“I set two cards,” Prometheus inserted two cards, face down, into the Spell/Trap Card slots, “and end my turn.”

George grinned. He drew a card and his grin grew. “I summon ‘Evil Hero-Nekoni’,” he said. A man with black armor that resembled a cat and a red katana on its back appeared before George.

“I activate his effect.” George looked at the top card of his deck. “Well look at that, “ he said, “it’s a monster.” The life point counter on his duel disc dropped from 8000 to 7000. He played the card and the image of a small owl with the face of a cat and a flashlight hanging from its neck was produced. “’Haunt the Spooky Ghost’,” George said.

”Now,” George commanded the hologram, “’Haunt’ attacks ‘Exemplar’!”

“Wait,” Prometheus was confused, “what?”

“You heard me,” George smiled. The owl-cat thing flew towards the young woman who struck it down with a bolt of magical energy. Where the stricken animal was, a transparent specter remained. The counter on George’s duel disc turned until it read 5500.

“Now ‘Haunt’ returns to possess your spellcaster!” The ghostly image of the now-dead monster enveloped the girl like an aura. “’Nekoni’ attacks, now.”

George’s life point counter fell to 4900. The armored man drew his sword and sliced at the girl. Prometheus flipped one of his cards over. “I activate ‘Magical Dimension’!” The girl was imprisoned in what loosely resembled an iron maiden suspended by chains. A light shot out of the hole in the center and struck through the armored warrior. The iron maiden-type thing opened up and a large man cloaked in red, and controlling a wooded marionette holding knives.

“Magical Marionette!” Prometheus shouted the name of the newly arrived hologram.

Tch. George put a card face down in one of the slots. “I end my turn,” he said with a sullen look on his face.

Prometheus looked at the card he just drew. “I activate ‘Allure of Darkness’.” He drew two cards. Prometheus held up a card and it disappeared. A sphere just like those surrounding the “Magical Exemplar” orbited the marionette.

“And another one!” Prometheus showed George the “Allure of Darkness” and drew two cards. He held up another card that disappeared like the first. Another sphere orbited the marionette.

Prometheus flipped his face down card over saying “I activate ‘Reckless Greed’.” He drew two more cards and chuckled a little. “I set a monster and 2 cards. ‘Magical Marionette’ attacks you directly!” The Marionette manipulated the doll so that it ran foreword, slashing at George, whose life point counter fell further to 2500. Prometheus signaled that his turn was done.

George drew his card. “I-I activate my face-down ‘Self-Destruct Button’! This card makes this duel result in a draw.”

Prometheus broke out laughing. “That would be a cheap move,” he said, “but I activate ‘Dark Bribe’. Your card is negated, but you get to draw a card.” George drew a card.

George smiled broadly. “I set a card and end my turn.” He said, playing a card face down.

Prometheus looked at the cards in his hand. “I flip summon my face-down monster,” he said, turning one of his face down cards face up. It was a young man in a purple robe, with a tall pointed hat. As he appeared, a sphere flew out from him to the marionette.

He flipped one of his cards face up. “’Burial from a Different Dimension’ moves the two dark monsters I removed from the game to my graveyard.” Another sphere orbited around the “Magical Marionette”.

“I now special summon ‘Alda, High Priestess of Darkness’ by removing 1 dark monster from play!” Prometheus played the card and a white haired woman, only slightly older than Prometheus appeared. She was in a flowing black robe with a white hood. She clutched a red tome tightly to her body.

“I remove another dark monster from play to special summon my ‘Jinzo’.” Prometheus’s newest monster appeared to be a man in green whose brain was being supplemented forcefully by a mask and helmet. As the holographic imagers generated him, the priestess fell over, powerless, and died.

“’Magical Marionette’,” Prometheus could feel this coming to a close, “end this!” The doll ran up a stabbed George through the stomach. His life points dropped to 0. It was over.

[spoiler=Chapter 1]

~Chapter 1~

George had appeared out of nowhere, introduced himself, and immediately challenged Prometheus. Finally, after the heat of battle had subsided, Prometheus and George finally got a good look at each other.

Prometheus was a tall young man of about 16. His torso was covered in a black t-shirt with three white skulls facing away from each other, and a dark green jacket with a single black skull on it. A silver duel disc was strapped to his wrist. It was a very old model, over seven years old. He wore glasses under his long, black hair.

Prometheus placed his deck back into the deck box strapped to his khaki pants. The duel disc on his arm retracted. He took the time to get a good look at George.

George was at least 20. He had greasy hair and wrinkled clothes. Everything about him screamed sleazy, except for the updated duel disc on his arm. It was little more than a watch with a flap of cloth that went rigid when an electric current was passed through it.

“Why did you suddenly jump me for a duel?” Prometheus asked with an annoyed inflection.

“I am working for the YCM,” George said.

“The what?”

“The YCM is an organization run by the Yggdrasil group. It takes the best Duel Monsters players in an annual tournament to determine who the best is.”

“That still doesn’t explain why you are here, exactly.”

“Oh! Well, I’m a Knocker. I am hired by some people who get recruited ahead of time to prevent people like you, those with barely a good enough record to get in, from getting in.”

“I highly doubt I have a good enough record to get into such an exclusive club.”

“But you do. Barely. In fact, it would have taken a single draw for your case to be closed.”

“If this tournament is the best of the best, then why have I never heard of it?”

“Simply because it is so exclusive means that you only know about it when you are accepted.”

“And I am accepted?”

“Yes!”

There was a short silence between them.

“So what now?” Prometheus asked.

“You wait.”

“For what?”

“This,” George threw down a small ball and the air was instantly filled with smoke. Prometheus felt something hit him on the back of the head. His vision went red, and then all was black.

[spoiler=Chapter 2]

~Chapter 2~

Sill woke up to see Aker glaring down at him.

“Do you have it?” Aker asked with a scowl.

“What?”

“You know damn well what.”

Sill thought for a moment. He recalled Frame pulling out the card before Pane’s stupid explosives went off. He looked over to see that the three of them were covered in bandages in hospital beds. Handcuffs kept them from getting up, much less escaping.

“Frame had it,” Sill said, straining to stay conscious. “Put it in his pouch.”

Aker walked over to where Frame lay, wrapped in bandages. He pulled out a pistol, silencer screwed on. He aimed it at Frame’s chest and pulled the trigger. Frame jolted as the bullet plunged into him.

Sill jolted upright, handcuff jingling. Aker walked over to Pane and shot him as well. Finally, he aimed the gun at Sill’s chest. “This is what happens to failures,” he said as he pulled the trigger.

Aker picked up Frame’s coat on his way out. As he left the hospital, he ran into a man just outside the door. He entered his car and drove towards the airport. Everything was falling into place.

[spoiler=Chapter 3]

~Chapter 3~

Jerome had gone to visit his wife in the hospital. Muggers had jumped her, and he had voiced his feelings about how the police were handling it.

Then as he walked up to her room, police surrounded him. They said he had shot the men who assaulted her. When he tried to tell them that he didn’t own a gun, much less shot three men, they pulled one out of his coat.

And now he was in a holding cell, waiting for his fate, wishing only to see his wife before they put him away.

[spoiler=Chapter 4]

~Chapter 4~

Prometheus’s head was hazy as he regained consciousness. He opened his eyes to a world devoid of focus, and blinked wildly. He was vaguely aware of several people standing over him.

“Oi, lookit this, a boy who has run ashore has woken up,” a voice said.

“Didn’t I say enough with the ocean lingo!” another voice said from across the room.

Prometheus could eventually make out the shapes of people around him. He stood up and fell down. Then stood up again and fell down again.

Prometheus found that trying to stand up was futile, so he slowly slid into a chair that was nearby.

“There you go,” he heard a girl’s voice say before he passed out again.

[spoiler=Chapter 5]

~Chapter 5~

Prometheus woke up in the chair. He found his glasses sitting on a table next to him. As Prometheus stood up, a boy about Prometheus’s age came walking up.

From what Prometheus could gauge from him, this boy was depressing. His unkempt hair and dark clothing that covered most of his body sent a message that life needs to be shut out. His eyes seemed glazed over behind his glasses.

“So you’re awake,” the boy said, his voice a brooding tone. It was as if he was disappointed. “You were out for a long time.”

“Where am I?” Prometheus said, looking around at the crowd.

“You are at the YCM Duel Arena.”

“That obscure pro duelist thing?”

“I wouldn’t call most of the people here pro’s. It’s more like they have high standing in the Duel Monsters world.”

Prometheus and the boy stood there in a semi-awkward pause.

“I’m Marc, by the way,” the boy said after a while.

“Prometheus,” there was another short pause. “How did I get here?”

“Dunno, you were laying in the corner, passed out, when I got here.”

“Oh…”

“That reminds me, you have to go choose your cards!”

“Choose my cards?”

“Yeah. About fifty minutes ago, the CEO of Yggdrasil, Aker, showed up for the opening ceremonies. He had several carts full of cards wheeled in and invited duelists to supplement their decks with them.”

“And?”

“You had better hurry, we were only given an hour before the tournament starts and that is almost up!”

Prometheus got up with renewed vigor, and ran over to the carts along the far wall. The carts were essentially display cases on wheels without a front. Prometheus checked inside the carts and saw, at one point, cards were in there alphabetically. Now everything was disheveled and almost empty except for a few Normal Monster Cards and Ritual Monster Cards.

After about 5 minutes of searching, Prometheus found seven cards he could use. He looked around to see people still trading their newly acquired cards, and testing out their decks.

As he was getting up to leave, a card caught Prometheus’s eye. Prometheus picked it up and new he had to use it.

[spoiler=Chapter 6]

~Chapter 6~

The doors opened without a sound as Aker walked into the laboratory. A metal wheel almost exactly like the one in the facility the Ventana brothers (Frame, Sill, and Pane) had been ordered to break into stood against a far wall.

“How long before show time?” Aker asked the attendant.

“Five minutes,” he replied.

“I meant until we can open the gate,” Aker snapped.

“Two more.”

“That is two more after this one, right?”

“Yep.”

“Good,” Aker grinned in a way that sent shivers down the attendant’s spine. “Get it out.”

The attendant went over to a small case and opened it. His back slumped as he peered into the contents. The face on this man was that of pure horror as he turned to Aker.

“I-i-i-i-i-i-its n-n-n-not h-here,” he stammered.

‘What?” yelled Aker, furiously.

“I-i-i-it i-isn’t h-“

“I know what you said. Why isn’t it here?”

“I-i-i-i th-th-th-th-think –“

“Without the stammering, please.”

“Itgotslippedinwiththeothercards” the words rushed out of the attendant in his fear.

“It," Aker started,

“…”

“Got”

“…”

“Slipped”

“…”

“With”

“…”

“The”

“…”

“Other”

“…”

“Cards?”

“…”

“Well?”

“Y-yes?” the young man was at the point of wetting himself.

“Well that is a problem, isn’t it?” Aker said as he shot the poor man.

[spoiler=Chapter 7]

~Chapter 7~

Aker was fuming as he walked through the doors. “Time is up!” his voice concealed his feelings to the audience of duelists. “You will all be assigned a number, now. This will determine who you will duel, based on odd numbered duelists duel the person with the one higher number.”

Prometheus looked down at his number. It was 128. It amazed him on how many people were entering this tournament.

“This is a four-round preliminaries,” Aker continued, “after which the top 16 will be selected to move on.”

Prometheus lined up with the other duelists. He looked around to see people of all different types. They varied from what looked like a biker to a fisherman to a person completely covered in a dark cloak. All of them had been equipped with the latest duel discs, and all had a competitive aura.

The tournament was about to finally begin.

~Volume 1 End~

[spoiler=Volume 2-The Preliminaries]

[spoiler=Chapter 8]

~Chapter 8~

Prometheus glared at the number. He could still hear Marc’s laughter as he showed what duelist number he’d been given.

“That means you have no chance of winning,” Marc had chuckled. “The lower the number, the worse you are as a duelist. Having that number means you have no chances of getting to the finals, let alone winning this thing.”

“Really?” Prometheus was getting irritated at Marc.

“Yeah, especially since the prize is going to be amazing this year.”

Prometheus and Marc sat in silence.

“So what is this amazing prize?” Prometheus finally asked.

“Dunno,” Marc responded.

“It’s half of Aker’s empire,” a voice said behind them.

Prometheus turned around to see a girl standing behind them. She was dressed in Gothic-like clothes; a black blouse and skirt, both lined with a white lace. She wore dark blue eyeliner and black lipstick. Prometheus thought that it looked good specifically on her. Her blonde hair hung loose about her shoulders, and her body—

“Yo! Sleepy head wake up!” She was snapping her fingers at Prometheus’s face. “Are you anemic or something?” she asked.

“No” Prometheus’s voice cracked.

“Dude,” Marc said, grinning devilishly, “you were out of it for quite a while.”

“Did you even hear what I said?” The girl asked.

Prometheus thought about it for a moment and reasoned that lying could end badly. “No,” he said sheepishly.

The girl sighed. “Ok, I said that due to Yggdrasil’s fall-out with Industrial Illusions and Kaiba Corp., Aker needs to get about half of his empire off of his back before he goes bankrupt.”

“Wait, Yggdrasil is working with the two big companies behind modern Duel Monsters technology?” Marc asked.

‘Did you really have to ask that again?” the girl glared at Marc.

“It’s for Prometheus’s sake.”

“Whatever. Well, I told you that Aker apparently would benefit from having only half of his empire. And after I said all of that, I gave my name and asked yours. That is when we realized you were just staring into space.”

“Yes… space,” Prometheus said absently.

“And?”

“And what?”

“What is your name?” the girl pretty much shouted.

“Oh, uh… Prometheus.”

“Prometheus? What kind of name is Prometheus?”

“Roman?” Marc suggested. The girl just glared at him. “I’m Marc, by the way,” he said.

“Well I’m Dawn,” she said to Prometheus. She chuckled a little. “You know,” she said, turning to leave, “it’s funny.”

“What’s funny?” Prometheus asked, “That neither of us have smacked Marc yet?”

“Well, there’s that, but I was talking about meeting two guys who both wear glasses in this day and age.”

“Oh!” Marc piped up. “These aren’t real.” He poked a finger through one of the frames. “I just like how they look. I got ECS years ago.”

“Yeah, well these are real,” Prometheus tapped the lenses of his glasses. “I can’t really afford ECS.” The irritation was obvious in Prometheus’s voice.

“Well, see you two in the finals,” Dawn said as she walked away.

“Prometheus hasn’t a chance,” Marc shouted after her.

Prometheus smacked Marc upside the head. “You really depress me,” he said and walked away.

And now here Prometheus was, sitting at his table, waiting for his opponent. They had all been told that duel discs were unnecessary in the preliminaries, since they were played on tables. How archaic.

[spoiler=Chapter 9]

~Chapter 9~

As Prometheus waited for his opponent to show up, he thought about his conversation with Dawn. Well, he thought of Dawn more than the actual conversation, but it was still involved somehow.

The more he thought about it, the less sense he could make of Aker’s plan. Either this is some weird aspect of business that Prometheus could not perceive, or whomever was coming up with this entire situation had no idea how the corporate world worked.

Finally, Prometheus’s opponent showed up. As he sat down, Prometheus recoiled in horror.

It was George.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Prometheus hissed.

“Dueling” George said sarcastically.

“I mean what are you doing dueling me?”

“I’m number 127” he said, holding up a numbered card.

“Why? I thought you were some kind of record killer.”

“Knockers don’t have the best standing in this tournament.”

“But isn’t it people in the tournament that hire you?”

“Small price to pay. Knockers are allowed in the tournament, despite their records, but they are usually pushed off towards the bottom.” George grinned broadly. “Us meeting like this is nothing more than a coincidence.”

“So are we going to start this?” Prometheus was shuffling his deck.

“Fine,” George held out his, “cut,” he said.

They cut each other’s deck and set them on the table. The tabletop produced what looked like a game mat with clearly defined spaces for monsters, spells, and traps. A life point counter appeared next to both decks.

“I’ll start this,” George said, “since you won in our previous encounter.”

He drew his card. “I activate ‘Dark Snake Syndrome’.” George played the card, and a snake wound itself around both life point counters. “Now I activate ‘Messenger of Peace’ and summon ‘Solar Flare Dragon’.” A long serpent that looked as if it was made from the fires of the sun appeared on the card.

“Mini holograms?” Prometheus skepticized.

“It’s an updated version of the original duel boxes.”

“Interesting. So what now?”

“I end my turn.” The flames coming from the dragon erupted in a force of fury. Prometheus’s life point counter briefly caught on fire and dropped by 500 points.

“I draw,” Prometheus said, unfazed. He looked at his cards. “You are trying to ‘burn’ my life points away,” Prometheus smirked, “but I think I will end this.”

He carefully selected a card from his hand. “I summon ‘Magical Exemplar’,” he said, playing the card. A miniature version appeared standing on the card. “I now activate ‘Secret Village of the Spellcasters’.” The tabletop changed to the clearing between buildings built into the trees. Two spell counters orbited “Exemplar”.

“I now remove 2 Spell counters to Special Summon ‘Night’s End Sorcerer’ from my hand.” The monster that appeared loosely resembled an anthropomorphic dog with long, torn ears and large robes. He carried a scythe with a semi-transparent blade in his hands and small bats circled him.

“I now tribute ‘Night’s End Sorcerer’ and ‘Magical Exemplar’ to Synchro Summon ‘Tempest Magician’.” The small dog-man started glowing, and encased “Exemplar” in a white aura. After a bright flash, “Exemplar’s” dress had turned from green to blue, and she was holding the scythe that “Night’s End Sorcerer” had been carrying. A spell counter orbited her.

“I now activate ‘Monster Reborn’,” Prometheus said, laying the card down. The “Magical Exemplar” that he had sent to the graveyard appeared out of the card. “I equip her with ‘Broken Bamboo Sword’,” the shattered remains of a wooden sword appeared in “Exemplar’s” hand.

“So you get two free spell counters,” George said, “what’s the big deal?”

“The big deal,” Prometheus set one of his cards down, “is that I activate ‘Golden Bamboo Sword’.” The wooden sword erupted in a golden light as Prometheus drew two cards.

Prometheus took one look at the cards he drew and became unable to contain his excitement. “I activate a second ‘Golden Bamboo Sword’ and draw two cards!” he pretty much shouted. “I now activate ‘Spell Power Grasp’!” Another spell counter orbited “Tempest Magician” and eight were orbiting “Exemplar”.

Prometheus was ready to end this right now. “I activate ‘Terraforming’, to add ‘Secret Village of the Spellcasters’ to my hand, and I activate my ‘Village’.” The field they were playing on shifted slightly as Prometheus switched the cards. Four more counters orbited “Exemplar”.

Prometheus discarded the last card in his hand. “I discard a card to put a spell counter on both ‘Tempest’ and ‘Exemplar’.”

George grimaced as the realization to what Prometheus was doing dawned on him.

“I remove all the spell counters from the field to do five hundred points of damage for each to you, and I count sixteen.”

Every single spell counters immediately bombarded George’s life point counter, reducing it to zero.

“And that is game,” Prometheus said.

I'd like to review and also apply for a spot up here as a character.

CHAPTER ONE REVIEW

So, I was first greeted in the middle-WOAH! A card game! It's already begun and I can't understand it! But that doesn't matter, as the battle is EXTREMELY well done compared to some others I've seen! You actually care about your grammar and your monsters have pictures and attacks and stats...That's much more than I can say about others.

A spellcaster user...hm, a little overdone, but you don't use Dark Magician, nor anything else Yugi used, so that fixes it. Cool.

I also like the guys you made up. I mean, Spooky the Haunted Ghost is one of the most original guys I've seen, which is both great and depressing.

But the thing I don't like is that I didn't know what the main characters looked like, or where they were. Keep in mind that my reviews are done with ONLY reading the chapter reviewed, not reading bios.

But I'd give chapter one...8/10. YAY!!

Character Name: Marc Raphael

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Appearance: Brown, unkempt hair, wears glasses without lenses(he thinks they look cool), black turtleneck and black jeans. Overall depressing-looking.

Personality: Kinda depressing(quiet and brooding), but likes defending friends and enjoys laughing.

History: Basically he's lived a normal life, gotten into and lost a few fights(but won some, too!)and enjoys playing DUEL MONSTERS!!

Signature Card: Elemental Hero Absolute Zero http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Elemental_Hero_Absolute_Zero (LINK)

Deck List:ELEMENTAL HERO DECK?!?!(The true beauty of an E-Hero deck really shows when you base it around just ONE beatstick.)

Monsters: (All contain Elemental Hero in their names, just to let you know)

Absolute Zero x3

Terra Firma x3

Heat x3

Ice Edge x3 http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Elemental_Hero_Ice_Edge (LINK)

Ocean x3

Stratos x1

Voltic x1

Woodsman x3

6 Extra deck

17 Monsters

Spells:

E-Emergency Call x3

Fifth Hope x2

Polymerization x3

Hero's Bond x1

Fusion Sage x1

Miracle Fusion x2

R-Righteous Justice x3

Skyscraper x1

16 Spells

Traps:

Threatening Roar x3

Magic Jammer x1

Hero Signal x3

7 Traps

Extra: The deck is obviously based around summoning Absolute Zero and using his ability to instill fear into the opponent. Woodsman is easily summoned through Hero Signal, AND BETTER YET is when you fusion summon Terra Firma with Polymerization, then you use MIRACLE FUSION to tribute Absolute Zero for a 5000-point+ direct attack. I worked this deck out well. The searchability makes the low number of monsters work.

Also the deck doesn't match his personality. Can he be one of the pros that hopefully becomes a friend?

Character Name: (can be anything) Xeneg

Age: 15

Gender: Boy

Appearance: Tall he is covered by a shroud that makes it impossible to see what he looks like, this is a good thing because he is largely robotic. His duel disk is built into the arm

Personality: He is friendly but calculating (he gauges people from the start) he requently makes equation to calculate stuff like chances of liking the food and such, he has a habit of saying said calculations out loud which makes him weird to be a around. However his calculations are always right mainly because he but's in room for unknown variables to make it so the answer is not definite. He is not perfect as he can't talk to girls very well and always seems to be hungary (he always has food with him)

History: Xeneg is a powerful duelist who lost use of his body in an accident, because of this large amounts of his body have been replaced, he still has a digestive track and a brain and tongue but no heart or muscles.

Signature Card: Genex Controller

Deck List:

Monsters:

3 Genex Controllers

2 Spare Genex

3 Turbine Genex

1 Army Genex

1 Genex Blast

2 Genex Doctor

1 Genex Gaia

1 Genex Heat

2 Genex Neutron

3 Genex searchers

2 Recycle Genex

1 Solar Genex

Spells:

1 Double Summon

1 Limiter Removal

3 7 completed

3 Poison of the old man

Traps:

2 Sarketsu Armor

2 trap holes

1 Magic cylinder

Extra:

1 Geo Genex

1 Wind Farm Genex

1 Hydro Genex

1 Thermal Genex

I know the deck might not be well thought out so I was hoping that you will tweak it so it is stronger. It's based around summonig powerful Genex syncro monsters though it can use other strategies, paticuarly uses the doctor to clear the field or Using Solar Genex and Genex Turbine to deal large amounts of damage, since 3 turbines will gice all of his creatures a 1200 attack boost.

I was a little scared there, getting confused in the short chapters, but you managed to grasp my attention and anticipation once again in chapter 7. I'm looking forward to the next duel, though I would like it if you could describe the card effects every now and then like on the animes(no, the animes aren't supremely excellent, but it explains stuff. 4Kids should die or something).

Awesome, I liked how you managed to cameo one of my charecters, it looks like Prometheus is in big trouble do to his low rank. Luckily it is almost certain that the card he noticed just before he left is the one Aker's looking for. Therefore it is likely he has an advantage, now I want to know my characters number in the rankings. Luckily I am patient.

2 things

1) Please limit all posts to discussion about the fanfic

2) Chapter 8 is up

Sorry, I was just curious.

Anyways, after all of the short chapters, I like the semi-short-but-long chapter you made with the describing-of-stuff. Sorry that my grammar sucked, but I'm that kind of guy. I for some reason like chapters like that; they help keep the pace either slow and easy, or it makes it stay as fast as is needed. Here, it helps the rising exposition I'm feeling here.
