basing decks of characters is a no no, you wanna make a good deck, then come up withsomething on your own...

 

that'll probably fail too, but at least you won't be copying

Technically, there's a way to make a Character Deck that actually works right . . .

 

. . . And that's to study the meta, look at the LARGE CACHE OF CARDS your character pulls out of their behind/wallet/Brooklyn-Rage/[insert Abridged joke for your character here], and then pick cards out of that cache that actually work right in your meta . . . and from there, build your cards around the theme that your character uses that will survive your meta best.

 

Case in point, a Dark Magician-centric Deck. Yugi has one in most every YGO video game, and some of them (if played properly) could survive in today's meta.

 

Alternatively, XYZ survives well enough for you Kaiba fans out there.

But on the other hand, THIS . . .

 

I showed this to someone I know on another forum, and he had this to say:

Vindictive + Apprentice = approved' date=' but why 1 Vindictive

Skilled Dark x1 = fail

Dark Magician x1 = lolfail

Maiden of Macabre = WHY

Dark Red Enchanter = meh.

Defender the Magical Knight = good choice.

Breaker the Magical Warrior = good choice.

Summoner Monk = WHY (2 + 4 ≠ 7)

Magical Exemplar = meh.

Endymion = meh.

Mandragola = There's better fish in the sea. SLAP IN A VINDICTIVE OR MAGICIAN OF FAITH, PLEASE.

Card Ejector = Don't know, perhaps another thing you could swap out for another Vindictive.

Crystal Seer = good choice.

Night Assailant = meh.

Nitro Synchron = CANNOT USE. Your only Lv5 monsters are OUT OF YOUR DECK. Unless you intend to steal something, you're up a creek.

Exiled Force = OK choice, I guess; out-of-theme, though.

Winged Kuriboh = splashable 'Run Run Away' card, I guess it's OK...

 

Nitro Warrior = CANNOT USE. Again, 2 + 4 ≠ 7, nor does 2 + 2 (+ 2 [+ 2']), 2 + 6, 2 + 7 . . . OK, scratch that, it IS usable . . . 2 + 1 + 4. Synchron (1 copy) + CRYSTAL SEER (1 COPY) + [insert 1 Level 4 monster from this Deck here]. But that's still HARDER TO CRANK OUT THAN GOD NEOS, AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING.

 

Half or Nothing = Useful in a bind.

Magician's Circle = get more.

Graceful Revival = VERY SITUATIONAL, get a different revival card please.

Gravity Bind = WHY -- you don't have ANY high attackers that fit this bill, so unless this is meant to buy you time while you have an Endymion killing things, I don't think you should run this.

Magic Cylinder = approved.

Defense Draw = meh.

Tower of Babel = WHY

Pitch Black Power Stone x2 = meh.

 

Mage Power = approved.

Magical Blast = not so much.

Fissure = GET MORE.

Enemy Controller = meh.

Terraforming = meh.

Arcane Barrier = meh, can't use Citadel on it.

Field Barrier = waki miko Re~im-- erm, I mean, meh.

Monster Reborn = approved.

Spell Power Grasp x1 = approved, but GET MORE.

Magical Dimension x1 = GET MORE.

Swords of Revealing Light = meh. Useful in a bind.

Magicians Unite = CROSS GRAV-- I-I mean, situational at best.

Dangerous Machine Type-6 = Exactly What It Says On The Tin -- DANGEROUS.

Malevolent Nuzzler = meh, whatever floats your Nice Boat.

Magical Citadel of Endymion = meh, useful.

 

CARDS NOT IN THE DECK

Blast Magician = WHY? He's useful!

Disenchanter = WHY? She can re-use Swords, take counters off your enemy, AND is able to be used for your silly little Nitro Warrior!

Mythical Beast Cerberus = not a bad choice, but seriously MAKE A FLIPPING SIDE DECK LIKE A NORMAL PERSON.

Frequency Magician = keep it this way; unless you're going to magically start running Stardust or some other even-Leveled Synchro, don't bother with this.

Hannibal Necromancer = again, keep it this way; his only real use is to either A) get rid of Trap Monsters or B) get rid of Royal Decree, and even then he's highly situational.

 

 

 

I can't help but agree with what he's saying on this, though. Nitro Warrior's one of the first things that should go.
