Tronta Posted May 15, 2009 Author Report Share Posted May 15, 2009 lolycm @ azure. my question still wasnt answered >.>is there any particular loop or lock in the current game that would make either of these disgustingly banworthy? and explain to me why raiza doesnt belong at 1?for quite some time it seems konami, in their infinite wisdom (straight faced) agreed with me on that at least. their bumping it to 2 seems to be an appeasement to all those who ran perfect circle, then teledad. seems like they thought we were too terribad to be able to come up with a new way to use the same deck. or maybe they just wanted to keep the deck build competitive with lightsworn (lol k.)phoenix wing is the trap equivalent of raiza.notice the differences in these two cards that establish the differences in balance:pwwb is a trap, which means its chainable, active on either players turn, but slow in that it must be set for a turn first. you have to discard one as well. so its a -2 to basically compulse + yata.raiza needs a tribute, which is easy as hell, provides a 24 beater, which is the general hill for midlevel monsters. then he removes one from the field, not destroys, but removes, so it isnt negateable conventionally. it returns it to the top of the deck, which effectively kills the next draw.so hes a -1 yata+compulse+24lolatk hes unbalanced.i dont even like caius removing. but hes not an abortion at least. A card doesn't need to be involved in a loop or a lock to be considered banworthy. Pot of Greed isn't involved in a loop, but because of the fact that its just pure Card Advantage, it's earned a spot on the banlist. Something about Raiza and PWWB Other then stating their effects, I don't understand your argument. But if we were to follow this train of thought, would you agree that Monster Reincarnation should be banned because Mind Trust exists? Monster Reincarnation discards a card and brings back any monster to your hand. Mind Trust tributes a monster on the field and returns a tuner to your hand that's less than or equal to half the tributed monster's level. They're both a -1, and they both return monsters to the hand. One is superior to the other, but that doesn't mean it's bannable. But maybe I'm going about this the wrong way. Why do you think Raiza's effect is overpowered? And don't start off by repeating it's effect. We know what the card does. What about it is overpowered in your opinion? Tronta Posted May 15, 2009 Author Report Share Posted May 15, 2009 well, neither reincarnate nor whatever other trolly card are really that bad. raiza bouncing to teh top of the deck free of real cost is a problem for me. cards like back to square one and pwwb both have that same niev effect, but they cost something. raiza just requires a tribute, which really isnt hard between gks, freeporn, malicious, and other such jank. and in addition to getting the same bounce as the other guys for the same real cost, you get a 2400 monster. thats obnoxious. anyways:im aware that it doesnt /have/ to be in a loop or lock. im just asking if there is one that pushes these guys over the top. im guessing no.
